Good price. Wonder if they're going to have 20% off tomorrow as has been suggested.

Personally, I'm going for the Steel

    • +1

I don't think they have it listed on their ebay store. If anything, they will increase the price before the sale.

      Steel Watch is on ebay

      • It's right here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pebble-Smartwatch-Black-/25171081…

But their price for it now is $129 so 20% off that still makes it higher than the current deal.

        • Thanks, I don't know how I missed that. Sorry. It sort of highlights how prices will be all over the place tomorrow, and that buying items with 20% off on ebay may not be as cheap as buying directly from their online store.

      • I was thinking of getting the steel as it should be $171 tomorrow.
The pictured one has a black leather looking band, I thought it had a steel band?

        • +3

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STEEL AND THE ORIGINAL?
Pebble Steel is made of premium watch components, including milled stainless steel and Corning(R), Gorilla(R), Glass. It runs all the same apps and software as Pebble though! It is completely compatible with the existing Pebble ecosystem.

          WHAT COMES WITH IT?
The Black Matte Steel Pebble includes: A Premium Leather Band and a magnetic charging cable.

        • It comes standard with the leather band only, the steel band is an optional accessory (but well worth it).

        • The steel is $229? Or is there some special going on tomorrow?

        • @klyvenator: Thanks mate, you're the best!

    • Extra $20 off deal certainly worked for me. $81.98 for the watch and a 4 outlet powerboard twin pack ($12.98)

I like to think that I got the watch for $69 and then just happened to also buy a couple of powerboards, that I am actually in need of anyway :)

  • +10

This watch's IQ is only 60. Double mine but it still doesn't make it smart.

  • $89 on the website but trolleys in the cart at $129

    • +3

Yes, as mentioned above. Dick is playing tricks again.

      • Need I say it.
        Tricky Dicky.

    • I didn't encounter this issue. It came up as $89 in the cart and $5.95 for postage, to Melbourne.

      • It's not an issue now, it was an issue when I first posted the deal.

        • who is the mole?

  • i just bought this on the pebble store for $96, in white though. should have waited!

  • Got this for $79 (red) two weeks ago from DS. Price $99 with $20 coupon. Will get the black one if another coupon pops up.

    • Happy with the watch? Not too plasticy?

      • +1

I got the same watch from the same deal. Pimped it out with a 'black carbon' ($5 on ebay from an local seller) skin. Looks much nicer now. Installing it is tricky though.

Very happy with the watch at a third of the Steel's price.

I would say the black one is well worth the $10 extra over what I paid for the red with the last deal.

        • Thanks for the info Elektron ….. just had a look on ebay, the brushed aluminum decals look nice also.

  • Or price match OW if it's available near where you live
    http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/pebble-smart-…

    • Just tried to do this on OW Broadway. There are only 3 in NSW with 1 in Alexandria, but staff did say it's probably a display model.

    • Hah! On clearance for $129?

    • Dick reckons it's an exclusive product, so how is it at OW?

  • That is handy, I can pick up a second one when I collect the pebble I bought last week for $109 via click and collect.

    • +1

Ask if they can cancel the original click and collect and put it through at today's price.

      • Will do

  • +1

OK - price is fixed in cart.

    • Thanks

  • Will most definitely snatch one up when the black is reduced to $79. Should be very soon…

  • Thanks for the deal post, works well for my price matching.

    • Where are you price matching?

  • Wish I'd gotten it at 79 last I saw it. Thought for sure it'd go down more.

Oh well, it's not a pressing need. This is a nice deal, but I'll continue to wait!

    • When does it end? I'm hoping the Dick releases another batch of discount codes. Pretty much releases them weekly now.

      • +1

Monday. That's what I'm waiting for too. Also keep an eye out on the ebay listing incase Dick brings that inline with the website.

  • +3

    Just in time for Christmas!

    • LOL

    • +2

Wow your really clocking up the puns tonight

    • +2

      Your Pebble jokes rock!

  • I was going to get one as a fitbit replacement, but I've read the fitness (pedometer apps) can not run in the background :(

Anyone who owns one had any experience to the contrary?

    • +1

I don't own one, but as far as I can tell this was added back in september in an update.

    • +2

The most recent firmware update allows fitness apps to run in the background. Still waiting on the ability to sync fitness data with phones, though.

      • +2

        It works with UP

        • Do u mean it works with the jawbone software on android?

        • @Jackson:

Yes, UP purple app, not the blue. and the UP app for pebble.

      • +1

Msifit syncs to iOS, but not Android yet. You can still see 7 days worth of activities directly on the watch. And yes, it does do background fitness tracking now. Paying more for the Fitbit, that does far less, seems stupid to me.

    • Sweet, thanks guys.

  • The best price I've seen for the black Pebble.

  • hoping for a $20 off $99 or $15 off $65 at 5pm

    • What would you buy for $10 to make this up to $99?

      • I got an extension lead, been needing one for a while.

  • Does it use normal Bluetooth or the newer one (version 4 low frequency I think it is - only on recent phones)?

Ah, It it Bluetooth 4 LE (as it says in this review of the technically identical steel variation).

    http://www.cnet.com/au/products/pebble-steel/

  • What do these do, I always see them here on ozb, are they a phone watch?

    • +7

they are a timepiece made out of tiny river stones toneey

    • +1

79 USD on their website I bought 1 two days ago conversion was 96 AUD.

    • +1

      USD.

    • Cheap, yes but cheaper, no.

  • Sticks and stones may break my bones but pebbles will never girt me

  • Thanks OP, claimed price protection again ;)

  • Pebble steel was UD$149 from pebble direct for Black Friday. Deal might steel (pun intended) be on.

    • +2

The USD conversion rate is really ticking everyone off. I'm sure it winds you up too.

  • +1

    Cheers op!
Once you go black, you don't go back

  • +2

Awesome deal! $79AUD for a Pebble, wow. I originally bought one last night for $89 and noticed the coupon code this morning. Thanks OP. I've now bought a second at the cheaper price and hope to cancel the first order.

    • +1

Thank you to TRENT86 for updating the post. Pity it was not one of those get $15 off a $65 spend deals. Anyway, time to get a Pebble and a bonus $10 item.

    • Thanks for the effort unity1, just a heads up I have found the jewellers screwdrivers to be utter crap, not worth a buck.

I have finally jumped on this tho, married it with a pair of TDK ST170 headphones currently says 40% off at 12 bucks, includes Mic and Amazon reviews were all 3 to 5 stars if anyone is insterested

      • Thanks, never tried those ones, but picked these ones when they were on a special and are excellent.

        • They are a lot better in every way, but if anyone's looking you can probably pick them up from dx between 10-20 bucks (not sure what u paid but current price of 30 seems rich)

        • @Jackson: I wouldn't pay full price. They were $5 or $10.

        • @unity1: I know u well enough mate :-) it's was for the benefit of others

    • +1

Might get two of Dicks balls for a Christmas present.

      • +1

Highly recommended for anyone that needs to contact DS customer service. They make great stress balls.

  • Thanks OP. Added an extra $10 to my cart and got it for $79 :)

  • Thanks OP. Mine was $80.24 lol

  • Nevermind

  • What's the story with click and collect? Is it if it isn't available at your local then tough and they don't do stock Transfers/you can't wait til it is in stock? I ended up having to pay delivery

  • How long does it usually take for notification your order is ready for collection on click and collect? Its been hours….

    • +1

In the past my orders have been ready for collection within an hour. However, I placed an order this morning at 7:30am and it has only just now ticked over to available for collection. This is kind of frustrating because I popped into the store at 10, 11 and 12 today (whilst my Mrs was doing Xmas shopping) and I couldn't pick it up until ther system had received the notification from the online team. So I get home and then at 1pm get the notification. lol.

      • Yep, my confirmaton came through around the same time as yours, and just been to pick it up.

Their stock of black pebbles seemed sadly denuded next to the red ones.

  • Just walked into my local DS and they were marked on special at $129

Showed them the website and walked out with it for $89

    • But why pay $89 when you can get it for $79 and $10 bonus of what ever you want?

      • Nothing I needed for $10

        • Fair enough, but it's a free $10 from Dick, like an early Xmas present.

  • Thanks OP, managed to use one of my $10 gift cards (which was $5) plus i got with a LED night light that i needed anyway…

  • Thanks OP, I have ordered one and also ordered TDK ST160 Over Ear H/Phones ($14.98 after 40%off) as the other one: TDK ST170 headphone was unavailable at most of the stores for click and collect in Sydney and Canberra.

    • same. might refund the headphones though when i pickup

      • You know every trick in the book.

        • this is what ozbargain is all about, right ?

east or west , ozbargain is the best !!

        • @easternculture: Yes it is, but I don't think I'd be so game.

        • @unity1:

"Id like to return these headphones please. Just picked up my beats RMA'd headphones i bought from here 5 months ago from the post office"

        • @easternculture: Are you going to claim the extra $5 difference now?

        • @unity1:

might as well cancel the order and reorder lol

actually it will cost me $69 after i return the headphone

        • @easternculture: Can't get much cheaper than that. Picked mine up today. Got a few reams of paper for free which is good considereing Staples never came up with the goods.

        • @unity1:

I also used the $50 voucher Dick gave me from my eneloop forum thread. so really cost me $19.

Also paid with my No Annual fee Coles Myer Mastercard with price protection, so if its ever cheaper in the next 2 years, they will refund the difference. Bargain !!

  • Any point picking this up if I have the moto 360? Tempted by the price, maybe use exclusively for bike riding/fitness tracking/beach days?
Anyone have both and can compare?
