Bought the bigger version - came to $792 with the code.
    Hisense 55K390PAD 55 inch (140cm) FHD LED LCD 100Hz 3D Smart TV

    • Ta man I will add it to post, didn't even see the 55

  • Hows the picture quality and whats your review on the TV?

    • I Can't review this cause I've never seen it, but I know Hisense is a pretty good brand for it's price, my brother has owned an 50" for about 5 years now with no problems and pic quality to that of my Samsung series 5. Harvey Norman sell them so maybe you could go in store to look 2mrw?

      • I do find Hisense to be inconsistent in the picture quality department. I have been surprised by the clarity of some and shocked at the blurry-ness of others. It all depends on the model so it is a very very good idea to check them out instore before you purchase!

I've got the 55" and I'm quite happy with it. There was another post on this probably a month or so back with a couple of reviews.

    • Do you know if it can be updated to Kitkat?

      • If it can, I don't know how. I'd like to update it if anybody knows.

I do know that you can run XBMC on it though.

    • I've got the 50" and I'm happy with it. Find my comment on a previous deal where I describe the minor issues.

  • 100 HZ is actually 60 HZ

at this price, wouldn't one just spend $100 more and get the 100hz 55" LG with webOS/3D? The difference is almost negligeable once you factor in brand reliability and features…

  • I bought LG 55" LB6500 for $895. Thanks!

  • Hey guys! Saw this 50" Hisense at Dick SMith yesterday and have a question. While playing the test media content from USB the video ended up playing stretched(really zoomed in) and very pixelated. Was playing 720p and 1080p content that looked terrible on this TV but beautiful on the 55" LG. It seemed like some sort of stretch or zoom mode was on?
The sales guy and I tried playing with the settings but couldn't find a way around it.

Has anyone used this TV to play content of external drive. If so, does it play things well or does it stretch and ruin the video quality? Is there any way around it?

Would really appreciate a reply asap as the ebay sale ends today and I'd really like to place an order for this one. Thanks guys! Cheers!

Lol the sales guys are hopeless when it comes to TV'S, Most TV'S These days need tweaking once you get it to get optimal performance out of it. It depends on whether you really want the android, if not and just want a basic TV Go for the LG 50" For $597 in my other post

      • Thanks for the reply Trent. I'm looking at Hisense 50k390PAD, LG 50LB5610 and Sony KDL50W700B. Used to have a 55" LG 3D smart (100hz) which was just fabulous. We then bought Sony KDL50W670A and were quite disappointed :S
Mainly looking for a 50+ screen that would play movies and sports well without too much shuddering and would also play subtitle. What do you reckon? Also, which of the above would have the best resale value. Cheers!

Your really downgrading with any of those, I would get the LG 6500 Webos TV Which is $898 until tonight @ TGG Ebay.
The ones above Sony and Lg are pretty much the same, the Hisense runs android but not many people know much about them so I'm not too sure, out of the 3 I would personally probably pick the Sony :)
