BP doesn't show up on mine and Harvey Norman discount is 50 off 300. Slightly different but mostly the same.

I saw Robins kitchen listed. Thought they went into administration. I remember a week before they went into administration they had 50% off vouchers. Everyone lost their money… One company I would surely avoid no matter how good the discount.

    • THE BP offer doesn't show up for me either. Sometimes they show up later on so keep checking.

    • +1

The BP offer just showed up for me.

  • +1

This is a targetted offer. Everyone gets something different. Thumbs neither up or down.

  • I can't seem to see any of these offers on my platinum edge card

    • If you have an account to log onto https://www.americanexpress.com/australia/ , you'll see the deals!

      • Logged on and it says that there's no offers on my card… Hmmmmz

        • I have the same plat edge card and have all the offers, apart from BP :(

        • @keithality:

Do I have to sign up to anything or? All the offers I signed up to were all direct links on oz bargain…

        • @deztini: Shouldn't need to sign up for anything, mine is just the standard plat edge card. I see the offers under the 'Offers' tab under the account balance once you sign in.

Could give amex cust service a call and ask if you don't have any offers at all. There are usually at least one or two at any given time.

    • Wow, thanks for the effort!

    • Thanks! Does anyone received the registration confirmation email using the above links? I don't.

      • yeah I was wondering the same

gonna print screen the offer just in case

      • +1

I registered my card, and it now appears in "My Offers" tab, despite not originally offered the offer.

      • It took about 6 hours for the registration emails to arrive to my inbox.

    • +2

So, I just worked out that if you type in the address into Google, i.e. Google "https://enroll.amexnetwork.com/AU/en/", then you can find additional offers (since Google just matches the URL).

A couple extra that I found:

Get up to $100 statement credit when you shop at Apple
      https://enroll.amexnetwork.com/AU/en/apple_credit/

Spend $250 or more, get $50 credit - Registered Card …
      https://enroll.amexnetwork.com/AU/en/myercredit/

      • Thanks but I got the following messages for the Apple and Myer offers respectively: "Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only." and "Unfortunately the maximum number of Card Members have already enrolled for this offer.".

        • Damn. I didn't actually put in my card details, so didn't know they weren't valid.

      • Myer offer is maxed out.

Apple offer accepted by DJ amex. Not Nab Amex though

  • +1

Does the BP offer include spend on fuel?

    • Its actually not clear on the T&C - it says in store.

      • It doesn't say it's excluded in T&C :)

Also seems to suggest in T&C that BP offer will eventually make it's way to amexconnect.com.au for the Bank-issued cards :)

        • Can one of you guys be kind enough to whack up the link for BP (for us non AMEX issues card holders)? =)

        • @AnDyStYLe:

          T&Cs are here: http://bit.ly/1rQ1Uir

Look under Section B: Eligible Cards - there's reference to www.amexconnect.com.au for non-AMEX issued cards.. The BP offer isn't on amexconnect.com.au as of today 2/12/2014 - but looks like it may be coming! :)

        • The list of excluded BP's is pretty long! (And annoyingly not sorted by state?) A lot of regional areas.

    • +6

yes, petrol included. i just bought $60 petrol and recevied "congrats email" from amex right after i swiped the card :)

      • Is there a link to the BP offer?

        • nah, the offer appears when i login my amex

  • +1

No offers on my QANTAS AMEX. BOOooo

    • +1

I got all the offers on Qantas issued Amex. Also 50 dollar credit at Harvey Norman when you spend 300.

      • Perhaps its targeted?

  • +4

I got a spend $10 get $10 credit on iTunes on mine as well as the above offers. Worth checking to see if you have it.

  • The Harvey Norman offer that I got is:
Spend $300 or more, get $50 credit (not $30)

    • Yeh me too. Maybe it is based on whether you shop there or not. Still a bit stingy HN lol

    • Me too , it's not even 20% off. Oh well, better than nothing. hopefully they have good bargain during Boxing Day

  • For all AmEx Issued Cards owners (non Bank Issued Cards):
Do you pay annual fee? How much?
Is there any company that offer free annual fee (waived)? What's the condition?

I have Commbank-Amex for free as part of my home loan package.

    • +1

I have Chartered Accountant Amex. The basic card is free.

    • +1

mine is a qantas Amex discovery card. They are free in annual fee and you get to earn qantas FF points. Now they are giving 7500 point if u apply before certain date. https://www.americanexpress.com/au/content/compare-qantas-di…

    • +1

Free Gold Amex through membership to www.professionalsaustralia.org.au. Earns 1 Qantas point per dollar.

      • can anyone sign up for it?

        • Anyone can join Professionals Aust, but it costs > $600 p.a. I doubt there's a way to get their Amex branded card without being a member.

    • I researched the Amex a bit and ended up going for the Amex issued Platinum Edge card. In the beginning I wanted to avoid an annual fee but decided this one at $195 per year was good for me as there's a complimentary Virgin domestic return flight included each year. Other features that have been great for me are of course these offers (most of them have appeared on my card), rewards points (3 points per dollar spend at supermarkets, 2 points per dollar spend at major petrol stations) and ability to swap reward points 1 for 1 with Virgin Velocity - those are the main benefits I can think of at the moment.

So I think if you're going to fly domestically each year this one is good value even with the annual fee. I've already made more than the annual fee back in statement credits and I've only had the card for 7 weeks.

There's a promo at the moment that waives the first year annual fee. Referral links here:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/american_express_referrals

    • I have an Engineers Australia AmEx, card is free

  • I have the BP - Spend $50, get $10 one time deal in my amex but all claimed :(

    • +1

Did you spend $50 on fuel?

      • He meant the offer limit ended before he could save it.

        • I just added it to mine just now. Check again.

  • Does anyone know why supplementary cards don't show these offers that you can register? Rang AMEX customer support said they don't know.

I always have to use the https://enroll links

Please give direct links to the promotions

I have CPA not bank issued AMEX

  • If you are sick of missing out on these, American Express Platinum Edge (the one that comes with 1 free Virgin domestic return flight every year) "bonus points for applications submitted through a referral link" promotion is back (you get 5000 bonus points, and also the referrer gets reward points). OzBargain wiki with referral links are here if you are interested:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/american_express_referrals

    • I signed up for this exact card a month ago. I still haven't had 1 offer turn up under my 'offers & places', I'm still relying on the generosity of ozbargainers posting the direct links.

      • Weird, I seem to get every single one on mine. Do you use it as your everyday card (Coles, Woolies, petrol)?

        • That might be the problem, I already use a bank issued AMEX for all the general day to day purchases. I got this card purely for these particular specials and the flight of course.

  • +1

does any could share the link for BP and Harvey norman?

    • I don't think there's direct link. You gotta login to your account first. 'Offers & Places' tab

      • Some of us bank issued AMEX card holders can't create an account on https://www.americanexpress.com/australia/ (can't register our card) and only have an account on http://amexconnect.com.au/, which only gives us 1% of these AMEX statement credit offers even though we still are eligible to enrol in them =(

If you hover over the "offers & places" for respective offers, do you see the URL info?

Similarly to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/reply/172723/2408732 that forumninja posted above?

        • Is this real? i have CBA issue card, registered with all the deal, was about to spend $250 at myer for the 50 dollar credit, so i am only able to get $5 dollar back?

        • @iceagepig: I think AnDyStYLe is saying only 1% of the offers given to Full Amex card holders are available to Bank issued card holders. Not that you will only get 1% of the benefit if you signed up to the same offer with a bank issued card. If you signed up to the offer and got the email saying you will get $50 back after $250 spend at Myer then you will get the full $50.

  • I just saved BP(Spend $50 get $10), Harvey Norman (spend $300 get $30) on mine - amex velocity $0 annual fee. Thanks OP!

    • +1

are you able to share the link of the BP and HN?

  • Do u need a certain income level to get one of these cards?

    • Yes a minimum income is required, although I think their lowest threshold to obtain a card is $40,000 which isn't particularly high. They also take into account any assets you have, outstanding debts, living situation etc in determining eligability & credit limit

  • +2

Can someone please share the link for HN for bank issued AMEX card holders?

    • tms846, can you find the david jones deal spend $50 or more and get $25 credit?

      • +1

I'm afraid that one is a targeted offer since it is a welcome deal, so I assume it's only people who just recently signed up for Amex…

        • Thanks for the reply.

  • got the BP offer! thanks OP!

  • does "in-store" for BP mean buying products in the shop?

    • I guess if petrol is not included- you could get some phone recharges etc…

      • +1

I bought a $50 BP gift card from BP petrol station and then I received the AMEX confirmation immediately.

  • These are the offers I have on my CPA Platinum Edge Amex:
    DAVID JONES WELCOME OFFER
Spend $50 or more, get $25 credit

    WOOLWORTHS WELCOME OFFER
Spend $50 or more, get $25 credit

    OPTUS WELCOME OFFER
Enrol, spend and get $25 credit

    ITUNES WELCOME OFFER
Spend $10 or more, get $10 credit

    • whoa, lucky.

    • Is it a new card?

      • Yeah, it's a brand new card which I got only due to the 25,000 QFF bonus points.

    • The primary card holder in my household had those too :) Registered and received last week.

Supplementary cards seem to show no offers though

  • So fuel included in BP spend?

    • Guess so, nothing excluding fuel in the T&Cs - only "Mechanic services, gift card purchases and purchases made through online aggregators such as PayPal or other retailers are excluded" as below…

      OFFER TERMS
American Express accepting locations only. Excluded locations are listed here.
Offer only applies to spend on this Card. It does not apply to spend on any supplementary Cards on this account or any other American Express Cards you might hold. Supplementary Cards qualify as an Eligible Card only if the Card is saved for the offer separately.
Card Members must register by saving this offer to this Card and spend $50 or more on their registered Card in-store at BP, in one transaction, between 02/12/14 and 31/12/14 to receive one $10 statement credit.
Participation is limited to the first 20,000 Cards to register, and the offer is limited to one statement credit per registered Card.
Mechanic services, gift card purchases and purchases made through online aggregators such as PayPal or other retailers are excluded.
Statement credit is not redeemable for cash or other payment form.
Statement credit is normally issued within 5 business days of the eligible spend, but may take up to 8 weeks to appear in your account.
Statement credit may not be applied to your Card Account if it has been suspended or cancelled and may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned or cancelled.

    • +3

Just filled up and have received the $10 credit confirmation email from Amex.

  • +1

I really need to get an Amex Issued card…

    • +2

I got mine just for these deals.

    • That's exactly what they want you to do! :)

    • the free return domestic flights are the real bargain here.

As far as statement credit goes, its really whatever you save minus $199 subscription fee, doesn’t come back to much as half the retailers that normally appear on there aren’t common shops/vendors.

  • The Iconic offer wasn't available on my AMEX card, but I managed to register my bank issued AMEX via the link and it worked.. so thanks to whoever posted it.
This will be about the third time I've redeemed The Iconic credit.

  • has anyone tried yet buying $50 worth of gift cards and actually receive their credit? what about phone recharge vouchers? can you split payments at bp? i got a few amex cards and wanted to fill up the truck and split payments with 4 cards i wonder is the bp eftpos system allows payment with multiple cards.?

    • The BP card itself actually says multiple gift cards can't be used for one transaction. You could always put $50 in the truck, go in and pay - then do again, and again, and again, and again.. :)

I can confirm BP $50 gift card purchase results in a credit :)

  • Hey Guys,
Sorry, possibly a silly question from a new member here. I'm going to sign up for the el-cheapo Velocity Escape. Will I still be eligible for Amex statement credit offers? I'm assuming yes as it is an Amex issued card, but would love someone to confirm for me.
    Thanks :)

    • I would think yes. I don't know if you will get it immediately though, I had a colleague who recently got an Amex, and the statement deals have not appeared for him yet. Maybe give it a month or so etc.

    • You do get them, but sometimes they are slightly different to other cards - I have a Velocity card and an Amex Platinum card and while offers are usually the same, sometimes one or two are on one card or not the other.

  • does anyone know if it's possible to use 2 different credit cards to buy a $600+ item from Harvey norman?

    • Dont see why not

  • +1

    Harvey Norman link plzzzzzzzzz

    • Does anyone still have this offer?

  • HI guys,

I went to buy a BP gift card $50 with amex… was told they don't sell gift cards on credit?

    Anyone else have this issue?

Should I get $5 of fuel and add the gift card???

Thanks, if anyways got one in WA? (I tried South Perth)

  • i filled up the truck with one card then asked for a gift on another amex. the guy didnt know how to process it and the other lady about to knock off asked me to step aside so that they could serve the line behind me as it takes some time to put a gift card through apparently. i warned the guy to take note how to process a gift card as i would be back next week. i just think some staff are not trained how to process bp gift cards thus reluctant to sell them even though they have a guide book that shows them the steps. happy to say i got 2 emails instantly saying the credits are on the way. please be sure to let us know when they release the offer to bank issued amex card holders? what happened to the url list of excluded bp outlets?
