iPod Touch+ 12 Month FREE Cinema Tickets! 8GB 32GB and 64GB!

310

Hey Guys, I was just recently at my local Nexbyte store at KNOX CITY purchasing a 32GB ipod touch. Apparently to the first 800 ipod touch buyers (any size) they are offering 12 months of free Cinema Tickets. I have read through the terms and conditions and basically after sending off a form and proof of purchase you can get 2 free tickets every month for your local cinema (yes hoyts and village both are fine). They also are having a 15% off non apple accessories when you purchase an ipod from them.

This is my first bargain i've posted let me know what you guys think, i reckon its a cracker!

  • wonder what other conditions are there, given a 8gb touch is $268, tickets for 2 every month is 24 tickets in total. if not much restrictions on the tickets, geeez, that's like $300 worth of tickets easy, you earn money?? sounds too good.

  • +1

$268 for an 8Gb iPod Touch.
    2x12 (Say $15) movie tickets = $360

BUT you need to complete an initial claim form.
Then complete another one in the first week of every month to receive the tickets.
Tickets will also take up to 21 days to arrive.

A lot of work, but even as a student with $10 or $12 tickets, you still get a 'free' iPod Touch out of it.
(They must be desperate to get these things to walk out the door :)

    • I think it works the other way around. Apple sells ridiculous amounts of iPod touches.

This is the cinemas trying to get people back to watching movies. The industry has been taking a beating in the past few years, so why not get people going in for free twelve times a year, which probably costs little to nothing across these 800 purchasers. Chances are, you will be going to invest in some food or drink as well. And we all know there is a 2000% markup on that stuff at the cinemas. So they are probably making plenty of money in this regard.

Maybe if they didn't charge so much, people would go to the cinemas more nowadays instead of chilling at home watching stuff from The Pirate Bay and having sex on the lounge.

      • +1 For Pirate Bay and Sex on the Lounge….. ;op

  • seems like a great deal, you jst got make sure you jump all the hoops within the period.

    • The condition is at the bottom of the page i have linked. Its got a grey border around it!

Great deal! How do you know if you're within the first 800, prior to buying?

    • I'm not sure how, maybe just call a store? i think the offer only just started a couple of days ago, doubt theyve sold 800 yet

  • Great deal … but I've already got one and I have no need for another …

  • I was hoping to order online. Does anyone know if the 'proof of purchase' can be obtained electronically prior to actually recieving the itouch? I'm concerned that if I have to wait for it to be delivered it will be too late. Ta.

  • can anyone get the online shop to work? as soon as i click on checkout by paypal i get a long winded error msg. paypal seems to be the only payment option.

  • I got an error message after clicking checkout, tried like 10 times it didnt work at all.

  • Do you know what cinema is it for?

    • States in OP that Village and Hoyts are fine.

  • how about birch carroll and coyle and AMC cinemas and cineplex…. I can't find any of these in the Terms and conditions

  • oh seems like amc and birch carroll and coyle come under hoyts

  • can anyone get the online store to work?

  • Hi guys. I just want to share some details of this "offer" i managed to get with you.
First of all. It took them 2 days and 3 ~30 minute calls to figure out which cinemas i will get ticjets for.
They advised me on the one which had beeen closed a few years ago. Then, when i said it does not exist any more, they gave me two location, both on the other side of Adelaide metropolitan area.
I have Norwood Hoyts within a walking distance from my home. Instead I would have to have a 40 or so minutes drive to Marion or Kilenny. It is just rediculous. It is their definition of a "reasonable distance" (see their terms and conditions).
It is one of the worst "promotions" i ever seen. It is a pure scam.

    • Hi,

When did you order the iPod Touch?
I think I am risky to order today as it should have exceeded the first 800 customers quota.

    • granted 40min drive to cinema not the best choise if there one closer but they still going to give you 24 free movie tickets, still a good deal, doesnt sound like a bad "scam" to me.

what is the number you called to ask your questions, I might ask a couple to them as well.

  • Got my book of cinema codes today. Wonder which cinema am I being allocated to. Hmm.

  • anyone get their tickets yet?

  • I still haven't received mine yet as well=.=

  • got my tickets, 2 hoyts passes to any hoyts till may 2010 but only on monday to thursday
