    • sorry, they were grabbed in the morning, we have a preannounce yesterday and apparently there were campers.

The only thing I'm interested in is the Event Cinemas Gold Class tix, but 2x tix for $80 is more expensive than buying them from the cinema (when factoring shipping). How is this a deal?

    • +4

You're doing it wrong, you get one of each category for $300, when you buy one of the more expensive items which are worth more than $300 and get the free gold class tix, it becomes a good deal.

      • -5

yeah, just realised that. It wasn't explained clearly enough by Rep (OP) in the intro.

        • +3

yes it was. besides you should know by now how trifectas work being a member since 2009

  • +1

If you go straight here, you can see the new items in each group:

  • Appreciated how SE offering bargains all the time!
hope to have a NUC i5 deal sooner for my Christmas gift :)

    • +1

I heard about the new NUC will come soon. better to wait for new version, and wait for the price to be reduced for current version,

  • Anyone know if the Velociraptor DUO can be pulled apart for two cheap Velociraptor drives?

  • Awwww… don't want a 760… want a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 OC 2GB :P

  • +1

not really a good deal for me, tried this combo WD My Cloud EX4 0TB Personal Cloud Storage, Linksys EA4500 N900 and Kingston 32GB total plus shipping $310. Cheaper to buy per item elsewhere based on my quick search except for wd my cloud which I prefer to have qnap or synology.

    • I'm curious why you're saying it's not a good deal.
StaticIce shows the cheapest you can get the WD My Cloud EX4 0TB Personal Cloud Storage in Australia is $345

  • Been wanting to buy a G27 forever! Thanks Op!

    • Get it at JB for $239 and save yourself $60

  • +6

Just a hint for novice and naive. (like myself)
Their advertised prices are not "current".
If you do not need all three you can buy individual items c h e a p e r.
    DO NOT GET SUCKED IN!

    • +2

Not sure what you mean when you say prices are not "current". They are the normal SE prices, which may or not be competitive with the lowest elsewhere. You need to do your research as you would for any store.

With the items I purchased the "advertised" prices are very competitive, eg the Samsung EVO 500G SSD at $249, best on static ice is $248 and is comparable or even better than US prices.

SE delivery charges are also very reasonable.

  • +1

While it may be true that in most situations your getting the group B and C items cheap/free/decent price all up. The group B and C items are generally not that great and I don't infact want any. Shame because I did want group A items, if only more interesting tech was added to Group B and C.

    • You can grab the package and sell off B and C items. I bought a DLink 2890AL + Linksys EA4500 + Speaker for $210 shipped last time. Sold off the Linksys & Speaker for $105. Also claiming a bonus wifi camera from DLink, reckon the 2890AL will end up costing $70 or so.

  • is that toshiba tablet any good???

    • One of the reviews
      http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/review/toshiba/wt200_windows_t…

My drawback to this will be on battery life (less than 4 hours) comparing to Windows Tablet like Asus T100 (~10hours)

      • Thanks mate, my main concern from the review is the "sluggish" performance…doesnt seem possible to upgrade it to Win8.1 unfortunately (no drivers)… :(

  • Wow the WD 0TB NAS has some nasty reviews. Similar to most of the tier 1 items. I've barely seen anything desirable from these trifecta deals. I like the gold class tickets idea for tier 2 though.

    • That's why they put it into the bundle. I requested QNAP at similar price and they said definitely NOT.

  • Hi OP. I have been waiting for the SD/memory cards sale. Any chance of having that soon?

    • +1

waiting on stock, it's not too far off

      • Ta. I hope it comes on Friday as usual :)

    Toshiba wt200 says now $399 kind of joke,cheaper here $180 http://www.oo.com.au/Toshiba-WT200-Touchscreen-Tabl_P225966.…

    • +1

      Thats refurbished..
And when you factor out the 2nd and 3rd item, it turns out to be less than 180!

      • Oh sorry, didn't see that.

    • +1

$399 is close to the lowest on shopbot and staticice, so that price is fair

  • -2

Im not sure about purchasing anymore after I found this price comparison result on Toshiba wt200:

    http://www.myshopping.com.au/PR--418751_Toshiba_WT200_Silver…

And this is just one example of savings from RRP !!! Not real saving I guess

    • See comment from @freakymonstah above

The cheap price you are seeing is for refurbished

  • I don't want a NAS but but.. but.. NAS + 2TB for this price, how to resist

    • That's a nasty NAS. Only have half performance of a good NAS. You get what you pay.

      • Thanks for the info,

  • checked Jb - hifi they are selling for 75$ instore

    • +1

      checked what?

I'm glad I missed this thread, otherwise I'd buy the HP laptop, dual band router and 32GB microSD card.

@Rep - Any chance you could add a new Windows 8 laptop in the GROUP A?

    • Feel good to be able to save $299 in 5 minutes (time to read this thread :)

    • yes, another laptop coming up, stay sharp.

  • Toshiba WT200 you can get it for $180 from OO http://goo.gl/UttM6o

    • That is a refurbished model
      see on the description

New lappy is up but its the soldered-in 2GB RAM Toshiba C50 N2830 thats been doing the rounds.
    Cheap but restrictively slow

    • +1

      non upgradeable

      no thanks

    • RAM is not soldered, our support team feedback you can upgrade 4GB or 8GB, it has 1 RAM slot

      • Specs from your site:
Specifications> RAM slot allocation "Memory not expandable"
        Maybe they have changed?

        • updated the specs page to 1 x ram slot, we've checked before: It is not as easy to upgrade due to more screws needed to remove, but it does have 1 x ram slot available.

        • @ShoppingExpress:
OK, I know the type. So you need to dis-assemble the lappy to the underside of the main PCB to access the RAM, right? Well that is an improvement over soldered, but not much as it probably voids the warranty as its a full break down and may be beyond the capabilities of many people.

        • @King Tightarse:

Bingo - not the most easy way to access. Probably why Toshiba put as not expandable.

          Cheers
          SE

        • @ShoppingExpress:
          But it can be done!
I did one two weeks ago with a mate. Took several hours but we were chatting and taking our time. The lappy is very cheap so it may be worth it. Need to decide about the warranty first though.
          Cheers.

        • @King Tightarse:

          It voids warranty so pointless

  • +3

Rep, I might be pushing my luck here, but will there be any other laptops/Chromebooks restocked?

Kicking myself for not getting the Chromebook as the Toshiba laptop seems awfully low specced for Windows.

    • +4

      I agree here.
Any possibility of something (anything) else? 2GB of non-upgradable RAM with a N2830 under W8 is useless right out of the box. I have used one and its painful sludge.
      C'mon Reppy…something else?

      • RAM is not soldered, our support team feedback you can upgrade 4GB or 8GB, it has 1 RAM slot

        • Good news if true but see above

  • You advertise the AOC E2752VH as 2ms but the spec page says 5ms?

Hi rep, i see that the sony xperia z black is still in stock and the white version was sold instead, could it be re-uploaded =P ?

    • I agree… the advertisement clearly says black and not white yet it was the white that was sold :/

  • Hi Rep

Trying to place an order but its coming up higher than expected. Could you please fix it.

I am trying to buy 3 deals + little bit more to get the GST back from customs ..could that be the problem ?

    • Can you PM me the details?

  • +2

is there going to be anymore changes?

  • hey REP something seems to have gone wrong with my checkout.
billed as full price even though check out page had it as $299 plus postage.
i have sent an email but would appreciate getting a refund asap coz christmas is expensive :P

    • No worries :)

      • hi REP.
        no movement on the refund.
can you please look into it.

Be very careful with your purchases from Shopping Express :(

They DO NOT PRICE MATCH…. :(

I bought their 5Tb USB3.0 External Hard Drive for $239. About the same time Amazon sold the exact same XHDD for about AUD$187 (delivered). Also at about the same time The Good Guys eBay sold a similar XHDD (Expansion version, not BackUp version) for AUD$185 (also delivered).

Amazon have since put their price up US$10 (to US$149.99) which is still heaps less than Shopping Express.

To do the maths, their price was A$52 or A$54 MORE than Amazon or TGG eBay.

We exchanged a couple of emails then their Rep just stopped replying to my emails.

The Rep said "Amazon won't supply the right mains adapter" when Seagate always sends ALL necessary adaptors….

Basically, they don't price match :(

    • They do price match
      http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/view/price-match-policy

but as it says, only before you buy the product, which is pretty normal.

I'd be interested to see if you are comparing the exact same product. Can you share the URLs?

      • Like I said, the Amazon one is the EXACT same XHDD. The Good Guys one is the expansion version not the BackUp version. That probably explains the $2 difference. :)

They look the same except one is upright and one is lay down :D

I have had 10 Seagate XHDDs in the last couple of years, expansion and Backup versions. I have NEVER used the Backup software and will NEVER use the Backup software so $2 is what it is worth….

I think, a couple of dollars or even ten or twelve dollars, okay but $52…. That qualifies as a "Rip-Off" :(

Plus there is NOTHING wrong with Amazon warranty. I would be happier with that rather than SE warranty.

Sorry, SE quote "Unbeatable Bargains"…. Well Amazon beat them in a matter of hours :(

Also not nice to just STOP replying to my emails :(

I notice a total lack from response from Store Rep ShoppingExpress :(

        • It's not a rip off as SE are selling it for near to the lowest price in Australia.

I guess you must be talking about this one
          http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/seagate-backup-plus-5t…

which is now $249 - $10 more than you paid. According to shopbot and staticice, there is only one other seller with a cheaper price (jw.com.au at $239; shopbot has A03 selling it for $225 but on the website it is $285).

The matching product on Amazon appears to be
          http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J0O5R2I/ref=ox_sc_act_ti…

and that is now $199 USD, which will come to more than the SE price with delivery and conversion to AUD. According to Camel, there was short lived price drop around end of November. Unfortunately, you missed out on a great Amazon deal at the time.

    • I guess it's fair enough not to price match Amazon, because of the warranty. And Expansion is usually cheaper than Backup, because the Backup has slightly smaller dimension and comes with…backup software.

    • yep got it for $185 from TGG :)

  • Rep .. Any mobo's to go with that i5 4590 CPU? ;)

    • Have a look at our available choices & PM me if you have something in mind but wish me to try and do something.

      cheers

  • Seagate 2TB sold out?

    • more available

  • @ShoppingExpress, are there any other tablets available in group 2?

    • there should be more.

      • Hi StoreRep, I don't think there's any more tablet for group 2. Could you add one in? Thanks!

        • Any updates rep? Keen to order :)

        • it should appear at night time.

  • +1

I'd give my left arm for a deal on a 144hz monitor

  • Hi Store Rep,

I bought a GTX 970 and got the card on the next day. Very happy with your service. Thank you.
However, I couldn't find the "Pick Your Path" coupon code… Had Created a helpdesk ticket on 6th but haven't got any reply yet… Please help.

    Thanks,
    Henry

    • Hi Henry,

Code is redeemed from manufacturer site, not come with the graphics card.

there is a link on our product listing which will bring you to the claim page, if you unsure, please advise me the card that you bought.

      cheers
