  • Annual fee? - no thanks - the HSBC deal is better for balance transfer

  • I still have the free Citibank Platinum card but never activated it. The last time I got the card for them, it got hacked by someone within 2 weeks of receiving the card, which was supposed to be improved safety with the chip.

The dispute process was a horrible experience and I'm a bit traumatized to use Citibank's card at the moment. :S

    • Sad to hear. I have a citibank card too.
What was the dispute process like? Did you end up out of pocket?

      • All communication must be made via letter. Talking over the phone isn't much of a help because you can't contact the dispute team.

I ended up got refunded all the disputed amount after 2-3 mths but I think I still lost money. I kept paying the minimum payment required each month and when came time dispute got through I was refunded only portion of it.

Where I lost it, I can't justify and it's too hard to calculate. Explaining over the phone was too much of a trouble so I can't be bothered chasing explanation to my $$$ lost.

  • This is OK, but not really a bargain. St George has a Platinum card with travel insurance for $89.

If you use this card for all your purchases for 6 months, taking advantage of the 0% interest rate, you might make $40 from bank deposit interest.

  • This isn't a bargain. Just a credit card deal. Could probably find something similar or better from any bank at any time.

  • I don't see anything special with this!

  • Remember that you do get entry into the VIP section of the Noodle Night Markets, as well as many other GFM events. If I was eligible for the card, I would apply straight away!
