  • so you can download all 10 games using that voucher?

    • You might need a US PSN account though.

I use a US psn account on my vita since i have PS+ on it and get the free games, but Australian codes wont link to my account.

I Bought my vita here in Australia with borderlands 2 but the DLC code isn't valid on US accounts. The same way when I bought the Metal Gear anniversary edition the code for MGS1 for ps1 wouldn't link to my US account.

        Lol, Germany isn't America.

        • Yeah I didnt notice that it was amazon.de

        • @Shindo989: EU bundle codes haven't worked so far in AU. I'd be surprised if this one was any different. Still, great price.

  • Be wary that the voucher codes may be region specific, even if the console isn't

    • Yep, I recall a few posters saying that they couldn't use the psn codes they got from ozgameshop on their AU psn because they were codes from EU.

  • Great find!

  • Isn't both Australia and Germany under PAL so region specific won't be an issue?

    • Yeah i thought EU/AU had the same PSN region?

      • OzGameShop say they won't work, I tried :P

      • Same region but the bundle codes released so far have all been store specific I'm afraid

I remember Eb had the 1000 model with 16gb card mega pack for $199 last year. How does the warranty claim work with Amazon? Or can we just bring to any Aus Sony service centre even it is not bought locally?

    • that's my concern. Excellent price though.
What I've decided on at the moment is to do this at jb hifi.
I asked games to see what they could do on the price of one of the 16GB mem cards and they best priced it at $35. I dunno if they'll be able to do that again but we'll see.

Buy x4 $50 giftcards so you get 4x 20% off vouchers to get max $20 off each purchase.
buy the Vita bundle for $180 using one voucher. One vita and a game of your choice.
Then use another voucher to buy the memory card at $35=7 so $28.

So all together a Vita 2000 with Freedoom wars ($37) and a 16 gb mem card and two more vouchers to use later. So a total of $208 for all that. That and you get an Australian warranty with sony.

Not sure If I'll be able to get them to sell the memcard to me that low again as the memory card box I found had a price of 39.99 on it and the others had a price of $45.
Not sure If they'll let me return it then buy it again at the price I want with the coupon or not but I'll see.
If not well then I get all that at $215 which isn't too shabby either.
Only annoying thing is that they (well in my case) make you wait 24 hours to use the 20% off coupon.

      • Don't bother with 16gb memory card tbh. Just buy the console or if bundled with games you really want and buy the vita card separately. 16gb is not enough trust me. Just import a 64gb vita card for $100 or $80+ if there is more eBay 20% off toys promo.

        • +1

depends on how many games you are comfortable having installed on your Vita. 16GB can install probably over 4 games with room to spare. that's plenty for me.

        • @Kanasuke: that was exactly what i first thought when i bought a 16gb vita card. Never mind. You will see in a few months down the track when you can't find the game you want locally or only through import at a higher than PSN on sale price.

        • 16gb is most definitely not enough for a Digital only Vita player.
However I don't buy Digital games unless they meet two conditions. They don't exist on a physical media and they're super cheap like sub $10 cheap. So for me 16gb will be just fine. That and the fact I don't buy games new so I can afford to wait for used prices to come down to reasonable pricing to me and because I have such a backlog of physical games to play waiting isn't much of an issue.

Though if you can't wait and don't mind the ridiculous pricing on digital PSN games and that you might lose the ability to play in the future (since you can't download them anymore once servers are shut down) then you should definitely get a bigger card.

Just found this list of PSN Vita Games sizes pretty neat! http://au.ign.com/wikis/ps-vita/Vita_Games_Sizes

  • I've been thinking of getting a Vita - how does this compare with this JB deal for $199?
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/features/games/Bundles/ps-vita-hot…

5 games (if you choose the megapack) vs 10, but a local machine and warranty.

    Ratchet & Clank
    LocoRoco
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy
    Lemmings Touch
    Worms Revolution Extreme

Problem is I don't know much about the games, and would prefer to use the Vita with my PS4.

If I buy the JB version, I'd use one of the 20% vouchers to get an extra $20 off ($20 max savings from the voucher).

    • +1

I got the vita bundle with $20 off voucher. You can change the hero pack or other two games (freedom wars and LBP) with the adventure pack because I like games in it, like Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Tearaway, Escape Plan etc.Just give a go.

      • What $20 voucher?

I called one of the JBs and they said they wouldn't swap - yeah I want the Adventure Pack one ideally - although this Mega Pack is pretty awesome too.

        • Buy a $50 gift card and get a 20% off voucher, maximum $20. For swaping games, I think it depends on sales people you meet. I made it in World Square Sydney. Not sure if it's working somewhere else. Good luck, mate.

  • This deal is very interesting.

I have an account with Amazon US - do I need to create a new account for Amazon Germany?

Is Amazon Germany frequently better priced than Amazon US (for shipment of general items to Australia)?

Are the other Amazons worth keep an eye on?

Do we know if these games will work on an Australian PSN account?

This price is too hard to say no to. I resisted the current JB deal with the not so good games for $199.

    • Amazon accounts are universal, the PSN account you may need is EU
Problem is items on Amazon sites besides from US and UK, seldom ship to Aus

      • Thanks for that.

Anyone know how to make the German site English?

  • good price for just the machine and memory card alone.

games are a bit meh though can't complain at this price.

Have a €10 voucher from Amazon.de, so bring my total price to €93,($135 today), pretty happy to have it for ps4 remote play.

    • how did you get the voucher?

      • I bought my ps4 from Amazon.De before, so I receive vouchers for video games sometimes.

  • "The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character"

Sounds like a poor translation of a Japanese title or something.

    • Sounds like, but sadly not, kind of wish it was actually Octodad, instead its an average game

      • Lol @ octodad. Reminded me of octomum.

    • Rotating Octopus is a terrible mini game.

  • I think the 8gb won't fit all the games at once, so you'll need to rotate some games around.

  • Does anyone here own/used a vita? How do they play/feel etc? I have been thinking about getting a handheld console for a while now - but unsure whether or not to get a vita or to get a new 3DS XL. Any recommendations?

    • its all about the type of games you play. 3DS you got pokemon, smash and all those. PVITA .. i have one but honestly i havent found a game i loved which i can name…

i've got both, i love my 3ds a lot more.

      • yeah 3ds is better for most people but if you like JRPGs/Anime/japan influenced games The vitas what you want. That plus vita cartridges are region free unlike 3ds. Come on nintendo write a software update and let me play whatever countries games I want sheesh.

        • Tbh I find that my Vita gets a lot more use than my XL. Not all of the games on 3DS are childish of course, there are some gems on there but if you're not interested in Mario you lose a big chunk of its novelty.

        • @Where's_That_Cake:
True stupid 3ds region lock is killing me though. I decided it would be more cost effective to buy a ntsc 3ds and import ntsc titles from Amazon and eBay sellers. I thought it'd be cheaper then paying local pal 3ds prices because previous game prices were just stupid. Like $30-$40 markup stupid. But for whatever reason pal prices have become near equal to ntsc pricing with shipping. So I haven't purchased any 3ds games since kingdom hearts 3ds which I haven't even played yet lol. Looks like I'll purchase some more soon though with persona q, devil survivor 2 3ds, bravely default, fire emblem, majoras mask and some others. Definitely some excellent games on the 3ds though.

  • Be aware user "Kenishi99" on reddit said this. "Beware! The games which comes with this pack are downloadable with a code which you can redeem.
But you possibly won't get Little Big Planet!
Happened to me, I contacted Playstation support and they told me that they can't do anything about it because "the game got deleted from the store"…
It's been 3 weeks since I contacted them and still no solution… :("

Dunno what happened there but thought people should know.

    Reddit thread for those interested.

Received the ps vita just in time for Christmas. Can confirm the voucher code works (AU PSN) and am currently downloading Little Big Planet Vita. Thanks for the find OP

    • Hmm, I shouldn't of listened to the people saying it wouldn't work.

  • Slim chance I know but anyone here ordered one but changed their mind and would like to sell it?

I don't mind paying a bit extra too.

    Cheers!

    • happy to sell, but I am in Melbourne.
