    chromecast got released in Aus for that price - but by the end of the week DSE had them for like $40

    however - anyone with this - can you comment on smoothness / lag on australian ADSL2 net?

    This isn't a deal. They're often seen for $40 or less. $49 is their usual price.

    Give OP a break…

    I don't see this as a deal either, so let's bash less and educate. OP, there have been plenty of deals, predominantly from DSE for Chromecast prices at $39 or less. If you are looking for one soon, probably best to wait for a DSE coupon code and buy online.

        Yeah I tried that and it didn't work seems to be common problem, I would return it but I don't have the receipt either.
