    Dyson Motorhead

    ACE !!!

    • TRIPLE H!

  • Showing as unavailable

  • BS cheap! My DC19 is still going strong though

    • +1

Same with my DC05. Has had a couple of simple repairs in he cable reel though.

  • Deal is active again.

    • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

    • Not working for me

  • This is a vacuum cleaner and the head right? Not just the head?

    • +4

      YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

      • I'm impressed jv. Even match my comment with the exact number of "S"

        • +1

can not believe you actually compared that

  • Worth noting that this machine originally had an RRP of $1099, so $300 is a great deal!

    • That's how much they were when I got mine about 5 years ago. Can't believe they don't do a motorhead anymore, it's must for anyone with animals and rugs/carpet.
Might get another at this price just as a spare.

      • doesn't this come with a motor head though?

        • Yes, but it is not a "current" model. They no longer produce it. Grab it while it lasts.

        • @snuke:
dont they have the turbine heads?

        • @richmond12:

Yes, but they don’t begin to compare to motor heads. There is no comparison, turbine head is like kids playing football compared to motor head being the pros.

      • Question regarding Dyson motorheads, do they allow the bendy pipe to rotate (twist) without getting itself tied in a knot? I have a VAX motorhead and if you do a few rotations the pipe ends up twisting and crimping, pain in the arse. Its due to needing to get power down to the head so the tube isnt rotatable, but perhaps Dyson have a different method to deliver power (a swivelling power contact or something?)

        • It can rotate, you can see a plastic bulge halfway down the tubing, it is separated here and can rotate freely.

        • @snuke:
Thanks. Wife should have bought a dyson then… this Vax "Zen" sucks in all the wrong ways.

This is a very old model now, but still exceptional value. The motor head alone costs $$$$. However, only worthwhile for someone with heaps of carpet IMO.

    • any issue with the model being old? I have an older model too, but wanted to upgrade to a new Dyson that picks up hair better on carpets, this might do the job

but if the issue is with parts, etc then might give it a miss

I've read quite a few bad reviews on this model too….

  • Why does the site only show Warranty for 12months?

  • Also is this model ok for picking up hair? My girlfriends hair sheds all over the place.

    • +1

You've got a GSD as well? They work pretty well but eventually they start to smell like hair. Definately one of the best vacuum cleaners on the market

      • GSD?

I'm guessing you'd still have to pick hair out of the motorhead.

        • @trumpedup: …..I really hope your German Shepherd isn't your girlfriend

    • Just saw their Tangle-free Turbine tool. Looks really good. Maybe even worth the $90

  • Does this come with a hard floor head?

  • +1

Anyone else stuck at the redirection? When I clicked on "buy now" which tries to redirect me to a different page and it just stuck there?

  • +1

Be aware, this doesn't seem to come with the usual stair, brush or slim nozzle (for small places) attachments, besides the hard floor head.

    • Are you sure? They are stored on-board other DC23 models.

      • Well the listing doesn't say anything about it. More than happy to be wrong.

        • We'll both be happy then.

        • +1

@Steptoe: just got mine. Has all the attachments ^_^

        • @Spectator: Good too hear mines still on it's way

  • Nice one…got one!
Went through velocity into ebay for extra FF points…not dure if it works on group deals but time will tell
    Thanks

  • Thanks OP.

  • Got it. Hope its good!

  • Jesus. I jumped on this when it was $488 at masters. Went to 4 different ones to find one!

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/117707

    $300 is a literal joke

    Pulled the trigger….I feel dirty

  • +1

Great vacuum but beware they are stupidly noisy and very heavy.

  • +3

Too many bad reviews. I was contemplating on buying but after I read the reviews, I'll give this a miss. I'll put my $300 somewhere else.

    • Knew it was too good to be true.

    • Where will you put your $300? What cleaning device can you get for the money. I was gonna buy one of those neato xv robot vacuums but according to many people they break down within a few months and there is no warranty because they bought em from amazon overseas.

    • Bear in mind the review was based on RRP. This is 30% of it's original price, expectation should be lowered…

      • +2

You can't compare OzBargainer's expectations to the general public. The cost benefit ratio must be very good with a low entry price to quench an OzBargainers appetite and close the deal.

    • I have had one for about 5 years, I paid about $950 for it. It was well worth that price, and I would by one again all day every day. It is not perfect, the ergonomics of the grip could be better. There is a seam there that mildly annoys me. It doesn’t track the best when doing corners. Apart from that, it is great for me.

Buyers beware of the failure of the motorhead!

    • Surely covered by durability in Australian Consumer Law?

  • Will this work on tiles or laminate floors. I usually just use a dust cloth but now with a dog the hairs are insane.

  • how long is the warranty as well, also is the unit made in the UK. I'm really happy with hozeluck Masters purchase made in the UK as well

  • Great deal, does anyone know if the warranty is a manufacturer warranty? It says 1 year, while it should be 2?

  • +1

had one of these 2 or 3 years ago the cleaning was good but its very very noisy & heavy like others said and maneuvering this is like pulling a truck in around the house, after 15months the machine wouldnt start i guess motor blew didnt even bother taking it in for warranty wasnt very happy with the vacuum anyway

    • +1

What do you use now? There's a reason they are getting rid via rapid impluse sales tactics even though it is very cheap for a dyson.

    • All motor head vacuums are more noisy, this is normal, my Wertheim with motor head was the same.

  • Was reading reviews online that the motor does not last (http://www.productreview.com.au/p/dyson-dc23-motorhead.html)? Am tempted but unsure due to reviews.

  • +1

I find it funny when people base their opinions solely on reviews. Especially for popular products worldwide, where there are statistically going to be more negative reviews.
And if another product which is purchased less and thus has less negative reviews, it is considered "better"

Anyway. I've had this model for a year and yes it is heavy due to the motor head. But it is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever used. The suction cannot be beaten and the motor head gets right into the carpet for an effortless clean.
2 years warranty and dyson quality build. I can't see how anyone could think this would not be worth it.

Watch some of the videos of the engineering that goes into dyson vacuums and it might change minds

  • Sold out already? Nice.

    • 23 left

      • Ah, it was showing unavailable so I assumed they had sold out.

They have now though. Good work everyone!

    • Watch out for ebay and gumtree sales

  • OOS!

  • Not working here either.

  • All the new models have balls.

  • still showing stock via direct link.

  • deal still active!

    anyone got email confimation yet?

    • I got confirmation from when it was first active and I bought one…there were about 150 left at that stage though.

  • So how's everyone enjoying their dc23? Received it yet?

  • Yeah got mine… Real heavy! ^_^

  • Just got mine and gave it a go. The amount of crop it picked up out of do g half a bedroom was….. Scary.
I didn't realise how bad my now old vacuum cleaner was.
Also compared to my old one, it's actually quieter and about the same weight. So I'm totally impressed and super happy I jumped on this deal when I did.

    • Thanks for the report back. Looking forward to the arrival of mine.

    • Yeah I don't know what all these other people on the internet are bitching about, but as I think someone said earlier, you'll more often see people posting things to complain more than to praise so it makes sense. Also in my travels I've learned a lot of people are just idiots and don't know how to use/keep things running properly.
(Obviously no OzBargainer's fall into that category because you're all smart enough to be on this site ☺ )
