    • Nicely done!

    • No comment on the bottom of the e-mail mentioning masterpass or gold class.
At least with Village Cinemas (VIC).

    • How 8.60? inst it $11 each?

    • Sorry I meant 6th of January Tuesday prices and when I just looked now I can see that I did not have to go through Testsra to get that price. Look at Australia Fair in QLD tickets are cheap as.

      • Other days except Tuesdays are only $9.50 each.

  • Just purchased 2 tickets, in 2 different transactions, using evouchers from experiencethis(scoopon) deal. (so paid $2.20)

I do think (and hope) that I get 2 gold class eVouchers

    • I got my 2 gold class vouchers, PLUS 2 small popcorn and coke (which I already used one of when watching the movie booked to get this deal).

  • bankwest masterpass is struggling right now. i can't even imagine what it will be like tomorrow

    • How so?

      • getting a lot of errors, problems loading, etc etc. i'm getting through my transactions, but very slowly and it's taking a lot of attempts

  • I booked 3 , wanted to get 1 more but first they removed my credit card on file. I tried again and this time it doesnt allow me to login. "Sorry we dont recognise you". These guys want to compete with Paypal?!!

    • got the same issue mate but i only got 1 ticket. absolutely rubbish service

      • Managed to snag a couple using my free e-vouchers and paying only the booking fee. Tried buying more tickets and this happened to me, too. Strange thing is I can access my Masterpass account with my credit card still on file when I log in from the Masterpass website.

    • I got the same issue, i found out to be with browser cookies. try cleaning or do incognito/private browing in your firefox or chrome.

i managed to purchase 8 tix

  • A truly incredible deal ;)

  • Yes this will work guaranteed.

Either use your FREE cinebuzz points to book for the applicable day via the links. Or other options via Telstra, student, entertainment book, or whatsoever ever evoucher you have as long it works for Saturday's.

Assuming you have registered masterpass with any bank of your choice since it's exactly like PAYPAL and VISA checkout.

Then book and play their waiting game.

Entertainemnt book works the best as you are paying $12+ $1.10 booking, and works any day and time of the week.

But the I have one question, does the tickets have to be claimed? I'm on holidays and I want to book for sydney and I'm not in Sydney. In assuming all that needs to be done the the transaction completed through the right links.

    • +4

If you use cinebuzz points there are no booking fees, how can that qualify for a Masterpass transaction?

  • Just Bought a ticket for $7.60, i think i win!! aha now just waiting on that gold class voucher!
I will have saved $39.50-$7.60= $31.90 Per ticket!!!!
    Best Boxing Day sale ever!

  • Have just split my usual family tickets across 4 transactions using Telstra tickets. $11 charge each and have registered with the $10 Amex refund so hopefully all up spent $34 for 4 tickets + 4 GC tickets. Thanks EC. Each individual ticket says "Thanks for using MasterPass Please allow 24-48 hours to receive the complimentary Gold Class eVoucher" Now we wait!

  • Used two vouchers that I received from Living Social deal and paid $1.10 for each booking.

Got confirmation straight away that I will receive my Gold Class Voucher in 24-48 hours.

    Thanks Ops!

  • Got two tickets.
    Thanks OP.

  • +1

Paypass is not working, it sucks

    • Agreed, having nothing but problems trying to get this useless Masterpass to work!

  • how long does it take to get confirmation from masterpass regarding gold tickets?

  • +2

Fantastic deal. Booked five tickets on five separate transactions, and received the confirmation on the bottom of each 'print at home ticket' that will receive a Gold Class ticket in 48 hours. Great when combined with the fact that you are earning Cinebuzz points each time (might even receive cinebuzz points from the Free GC ticket?). I signed up though NAB Masterpass and received a couple of errors when trying to complete Masterpass Transaction, but just exited out of Masterpass and tried again without issue. Also linked my ANZ rewards Amex so also receive a free $20 event gift card for each $200 spent, and maybe even $10 Amex credit. Time to book a few more tickets me thinks!!!

    • How did you use NAB Masterpass? The Event website diverts me to a Bankwest Masterpass page.

      • +1

Just googled NAB Masterpass, link below:

        https://masterpass.com/Wallet/3NAB/Home?mpstatus=cancel

fairly quick and simple sign up process and can use any credit card.

        • I was having major issues with the Bankwest one, couldn't add a card and wouldn't checkout with another. Made a new account with the NAB Masterpass and while I still had a few errors and login difficulties it eventually worked

  • Taken 3 is not screening at any Cinema in NSW but Castle Hill Gold Class.

    Damn it!

    • Because the session times haven't been released yet

  • Thanks OP! I didn't really read properly and rushed my payments, so i booked 3 tickets for today all in one transaction, is there any way to cancel these tickets and then book in 3 single transaction?

  • This is so awesome! hopefully we all get our gold classes!
and i think, if you purchase future tickets and cant make it, sell it on ozbargain for the half price. you still profit.

  • Anyone got the email from Amex for the $10 cashback?

  • It has to be booked today, but can the movie be booked for another day but booked today? If that's makes sense.

    • It appears so, All future screening tickets I have booked today list at the bottom of the ticket that I will receive my GC ticket within 48 hours

  • with amex, when you spend $80, does this mean you will get $20 cash back?

    • No. Unless you split it over two registered Amex cards.

  • thanks, finally got it to work with NAB. Bankwest was glitchy as hell.

  • just bought moonlight cinema tickets and it mentions we will be getting "gold grass tickets" not gold class. feeling a little bummed now. might worth noting in the description

    • Bugger - didn't realise this on mine either - well picked up.

  • Thanks just bought one using the Telstra deal - worked a treat!

  • In that case this will work as I do this always, a booked movie with Telstra can als be changed to another date, seems latest movies that are displayed on their site is the 7th, book for that and head to the box office on the. 7th to change to another later date, hope this helps.

    • and this always worked?

what about wrong cinema selected? can they change to different location as well?

  • No their system isn't umm what's that word, they arnt connected with everywhere so no, in other words if you booked George street and took it to bondi, no refund has to be the same box office.

The only problem with changing Telstra tickets is that they make it hard for you if you want to change to another movie, they insist you pay more for full price, Another time and day is all good for the same movie.they sometimes need to get a manager if the guy who works there is new.

  • How long till you get confirmation of free gold class? I didn't go via Telstra as the movie I selected was cheaper to buy direct tickets.

I also used anz Amex registered via AMEX connect for events but paid via master pass. No confirmation I get $10 credit YET & they normally come straight through.

    • +1

At the bottom of your print out voucher for the movie you booked it should say "Thanks for using Masterpass, Please allow 24-48 hours to receive your complimentary GoldClass eVoucher."

    • Purchased tickets through RAC for $10.50 a ticket and 42c for cc transaction. Makes it $10.71 per ticket. Didn't try public holiday but works for weeknights.

  • Thanks for this! I bought 3 tickets in 3 separate transactions. Booked for Student Monday, so tickets were only $8 each (+ online booking fee). If it all works out, ~$24 for 3 gold glass vouchers is pretty amazing.

    • how did you get the student monday option from?
student monday appears to be selling for $16.50

      • +1

You need to have the code "Students14" in your CineBuzz profile. Go to Cinebuzz > Edit Details > Enter Promo Code. Then the next time you pick a movie on a Monday, log into your Cinebuzz during checkout and a highlighted option for $8 movie will appear.

        • thats interesting, i have done the instruction you mentioned. but it doesnt seem to appear for me.
maybe it is old movies not new release?

        • @kwetiaw:

I got the student offer for tues-thurs offer but it turns out to be $9 + $1.10 in NSW?

        • @zzzsianzzz: It's $9 between 2 to 5pm Tues-Thurs

  • would be great if more people share their experience regarding change of movie and sessions booked with Telstra rewards.

    • what do you mean?

      • If I book a ticket with telstra rewards now and then decide to change it to another movie/session at the box office. Is that possible? 2 people commented earlier, but I wanted more opinions.

        • not sure but if you go to the cinema before the session start and speak to the counter/manager, they can swap it for a voucher…at their discretion. (I did once)

    • T&Cs from Telstra Thanks site - Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded

  • Telstra movies only allow you to book for next day early 9:15am! anyone else notice this problem?

  • So damn good, $11 for normal movie + Gold Class movie is amazing.

  • Can I use the same masterpass account for multiple transactions ?

  • +7

If anyone wants a gold class ticket but doesn't actually want to see another movie, a cheap way of doing it is book a kids ticket to capalaba qld. The ticket is $6.60 total ($5.50 ticket plus $1 booking fee). Pay with masterpass. Rinse and repeat for more tickets. Someone told me today that gold class tickets are usually $37 each so that is a very cheap way of doing it. (Capalaba is my local cinema)

    • Great hack. Thanks mate.

    • Wow. wished knew this trick a bit sooner. do we get points for kids tickets?

      • you do get points for kids tickets as long as you only book one ticket per session, any more than that and you only get 100 points.

  • +1

Just used the 'Barbie: Princess Power' promotion to get the voucher for $8.10 including booking fee. I wonder how many people will actually be showing up to those sessions.

    • i just followed your footsteps. im not planning to go, so will put it up for free for anyone who wants them :)

  • Hi, I can't pay the ticket with Mastetpass, as when I try to login Masterpass, it keeps telling me "We encountered an error serving your request. Please tr again." but I can log in Bankwest's Masterpass. Has anyone have same problem?

    • tried booking it with masterpass just a few mins back, it works for me as I have received the email confirmation after using that.

  • $6.60 + $3.25 Gold Class booking fee is great value. Never been to Gold Class before but for under $10, its great value!

  • Wow what a waste of time! tried NAB / bankwest / CBA and all nothing… asking for an invitation code at times and other times it crashes… waste of an hour!

    never again with Masterpass

    • Worked fine for me mate. Just signed up my email address through my CBA Netbank account and it worked instantly.

      • i dont have cba net bank :(

  • Thanks OP

worked well. used vouchers i already had and paid $1.10 booking fee using masterpass

said GC vouchers would in arrive 24-48 hours

  • +1

the Capalaba thing is awesome you can even book a seniors ticket for movies that start in 5mins QLD time. (although i didnt do the hack just used the normal promotion)

might see a few ozbargainers at the movies 2mrow lol

im just wondering they might come back and say its capped @ one GC voucher per masterpass account (not unlimited)

    • +1

I hope not either lol. Got 18 so would of wasted a lot of money. According to the terms and conditions though it's fine. It says 'We reserve the right to change any terms contained in these Terms & Conditions at any time' however it hasn't changed all day.

      • I purchased 14, fingers crossed Harper :)

      • Glad I'm not the only one buying bulk - I bought 9 tickets 3 x 3 for myself and two kids but all movies they really want to see. Because The deal was too good to miss I paid full price for my first lot of tickets (first time ever! $52 for three tickets to see big hero 6 last night. Would normally have never ever paid this but figured normally spend $30 for 3 so the extra $22 would more than cover a gold class ticket). But after that I have placed my hopes on scoring a ticket off the booking fee - have to say great promotion for masterpass - I hate PayPal just for the fees they charge whenever I am selling somethjng on eBay and checking out via masterpass comm bank was super easy for me.

  • The other trick is to just refund the tickets when u collect them, they can refund you movies if you watched least 30mins of the movie.

    • they dont issue refunds that easy. I have 3 gold class tickets for tomorrow (got them over the counter at george st sydney) but they wont give me a refund !! I dont know what to do. thats $140.

      • I didn't know they refund at all but above poster mentioned they refund after you have watched at least 30 minutes of the movie

  • +1

I bought 4 tickets for $40.20. Hoping that Amex will pony up for the $10 discount, though I suspect they might only give you cash back if you use Amex directly.

Also, Masterpass is terrible. Don't release offers like this if your systems can't take the load…

  • Just bought 4 more tickets in 4 different transactions, let's hope it worked!

  • +1

When I logged into my Cinebuzz account they had a "We Miss You" $10 ticket deal for me… (plus $1.10 booking)… Not bad for those without Telstra

  • 6 $11 tickets, 6 Gold class tickets, 6 different movies, 6 lots of points for Cinebuzz, extra free movie. Freaking amazing deal.

  • +2

Bankwest masterpass didn't recognize my password and keep saying wrong password….Not a good payment gateway *sigh

  • +1

14 Single Ticket Bookings Later (7 movies x 2)… Fingers crossed it is per booking without limit.

    • -1

It should be. Nothing in the T&Cs to indicate otherwise. They'd be up for misleading advertising if they didn't honour them.

Personally, I put through 18 tickets. I punished them hard for not locking down the T&Cs. Used Telstra to book and got one regular movie, plus Gold Class for $11. Times 18. It was perfect timing, since I planned on going to see a few movies over the break anyway. I figured I'd also buy some extra tickets for friends. If they can't make it, it just means that I'll have room to stretch out at the first movie and the Gold Class movie will cost $11 instead of $5.50. Big whoop.

Also got the Amex deal, so $10 back there as well.

      Ridiculously good value.

  • I got three… took a while deciding on the fourth and failed. I chose and it was technically 12.00 PM when I received it. It doesn't mention me getting it for that one :(

  • Did the others mention that you received it? Cause I was gonna book a few more

    • it's already 12:13am now

  • Not in WA!
