Samsung UA65H8000 65" Curved 1080p 200Hz 3D LED LCD TV $1996

Sony KDL70W850B 70" 1080p 100Hz 3D LED LCD TV $1996

20% OFF Blu-Rays & DVDs (exclusions apply)
20% OFF Music CDs & DVDs (exclusions apply)
15% OFF Nikon, JVC, Samsung & Olympus Cameras (exclusions apply)

Sony 70W850B for $1996 is very good, it was $2291 during their 20% off sale.

    • 70"? Wow… good price.. wish I haven't own a tv…

      • Yep, best FHD 70" IMO, with the downsides of bad 3D and smart features, neither of which I'd use. If you want smart features best bet is to drop back to the 65" Samsung.

Edit: Just purchased using my salary packaging company to get me 6% off the vouchers, so I paid $1876.

  • From the email I received:

Need a new TV? Grab a Sony Bravia 70" Full HD LED LCD Smart 3D TV for just $1999. That's $700 Off! (+ $65 Delivery for online orders)
    Pick up a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 i5 128GB Tablet for only $1098. That's a crazy deal!
Lenovo 15.6" Laptop are a steal at just $698.
    20% OFF Blu-Rays & DVDs (exclusions apply)
20% OFF Music CDs & DVDs (exclusions apply)
15% OFF Nikon, JVC, Samsung & Olympus Cameras (exclusions apply)
15% OFF Samsung Fridges, Washers & Dishwashers (exclusions apply)

Get in quick it all ends 31st December.

  • Sony HTCT370 300W 2.1CH Sound Bar for $249
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/soundbars/so…

Good deal? Much better than Samsung HW-H450 Series 4 2.1 Channel Soundbar for $228?
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/soundbars/sa…

I have a Samsung smart TV.

    • +2

      I like this one Hw-H551 + $50 store credit $299 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/176234

      • I have one and it sounds fantastic.

    • +2

If you have a Samsung TV, Samsung's Anynet+ (their own branding of HDMI-CEC) gives you an easier setup process, and the ability to control the volume with the TV's remote. The HTCT370 is a significantly better device, though.

      • Do you know how these soundbars compare to Yamaha YAS series (103 or 203 for instance)? They seem be getting get reviews.

        • +1

If I recall correctly, the YAS-103 has a built-in 'subwoofer', which can't create the level of bass that a proper, standalone subwoofer can.
The other, upper models are relatively similar to most others at equivalent price points, as far as I've heard.

  • Is $299 worth it for the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2?

I have the Iphone 6 Plus and just wondering if anyone here has own the GC2 and could you let me know if it's worth buying.

  • Just received this email. The price of that 70" is really making me reconsider how much I want 4k, lol. That's a cracking price!

    • The price of the 65" Samsung curved TV is making me consider selling the 4K 55" I already have…

    • +1

Seriously, which ozbargain member considered or bought 4k tv? Not a wise move!

      • +1

The kind who finds a bargain!

I have unlimited 100Mbps internet, Netflix running on the TV, and a gaming PC more than capable of 4K output (2x GTX 970s). I picked up a clearance model Samsung F9000 on further discount about a year ago now, and have not regretted it at all…

        • +1

Not if you run Assassin's Creed Unity on that PC. =)

  • So JB's are also dropping the Samsung UA55H6400 55" 1080p 100Hz 3D LED LCD TV down to $1098. Not much between them all now. Comes down to other offers ($50 store credit at TGG, Amex/QFF points at DJs etc).

  • I might be missing something but the savings on the Samsung 65' UA65H8000 in this deal seem astronomical compared to other places (seems to routinely be listed at well over 3K). Any reviews of that set out there? Seems like ill be pulling the trigger on the 70' Sony or 65' Samsung - deals are just too good.

    • What's the difference between this model and the current UA65H8500 on the samsung australia web site?

      • The model on the Samsung site is actually the UA65HU8500 - it's a flat UHD set, as opposed to the curved full HD UA65H8000 that's in the sale.

        • +1

ok, thanks. looks like a great deal!

  • You might want to add some stuff to your title otherwise people will pull all the deals out of it and make single posts :)

    • Cheers, I couldn't decide which to put in with the character limit, but any suggestions as to how to modify the title would be appreciated!

      • +1

Yeah you got it right Look much better now :)

  • +2

Just purchased the Sony KDL60W600B 60" Full HD Smart LED-LCD TV at $998. Super happy at that price, cheapest I have seen it so far.

  • Is it going to be near impossible to find a store with the 65" Samsung in stock?

    • I'm pretty sure that every store has two or three out the back. Be there when the stores open, and you have a good chance at getting one.

  • +1

Its worth noting, some of these prices are available now - not just viewable!

  • +2

How come JB hifi's camera deals always seem to be missing canon, or is it just alternating?

    • I have no idea. I'd assume it's something to do with Canon almost always having a cashback offer equal to around 15% on the lower end DSLRs…

  • The 2 for $20 Blu-ray's are still available so a further 20% discount makes it 2 for $16.00

  • +1

But will chromecast be selling for the cheapest price ever? hopes

  • JB aren't really discounting as much as they used to when it comes to DVDs. They're 2 for $20 but the prices are $10.38 so you're only saving $0.76! Almost pointless of a deal.

Most of the DVDs are B grade ones too, you'd have to pay me to watch them.

    • If you buy 2 for $20 it works out to be $8 each.

      • +2

Ah good point Yuri, didn't factor that in. Thanks.

If I really must get a B grade film I'll find it in the BigW bargain bin for $5 though ;-p, so even at $8 it's a bit much.

        • There's usually plenty of good films in those 2 for $20 piles. Of course whether it's a good price depends on what films you are after…if you want something Big W has for $5 then buy it there. Judging by the responses to the 20% and 2 for $20 sales JB does, people are grabbing films from JB that aren't cheaper on an every day basis at Big W.

  • Some not too bad deals on AV receivers / amps:

    Pioneer - VSX524 $247 save $282, VSX529 $396 save $303
    Sony - STRDN850 $594.30 save $254.70, STRDN1050 $839.30 save $359.70

  • Does the 20% off coupon with the $50 gift card allow you to stack the discount on 20% off Blu-Rays?

    • +1

      Been wondering that too

    • +1

It says ticketed prices so it seems unlikely.

      • Current ticketed prices. :(

Does that mean 20% off $50 gift card voucher can only be applied to full priced items?

Going to try anyways. See if I can get a 36% discount (20% BR discount stacked on the 20% off $50 gift card voucher).

    • Yes it does, have done it myself, up too $100 so maximum $20 off.

    • +1

Had 'some' issue with Roselands today re the 20% off voucher… their system was a tad stuffed today… however they did accept it !

Just to NOTE the conditions :

'Cannot be used in conjuction with any other VOUCHER offer'. To JB - the 20% off sale currently on Blu/DVDs/CDs is not a voucher offer !!

  • Theres 20% off home networking too. Not sure when they put them on sale.

  • Picked up Guardians of the Galaxy on Blu Ray for $24. Thanks OP!

  • Anyone else managed to stack the 20% off Gift Card coupon?
