Astone Noontec MovieHome V8 DTS Media Centre with 808G Installed $214.95 (Duplicate - AND you even voted on the duplicate how stupid can u be)"

    awww, little harsh eh?

  • Is this better than the previous model Media Tank that we got 2 week ago?

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/16993

  • No wireless????

  • Astone 300 two weeks ago was around 179 with free 808gb drive.

plus all the comments in the other deal had reviews etc.

    • agreed, but considering the link is right above you it was 189 with 9.99 postage. :P

I have no idea which of these is better, but the AP300 is the newer

      • no one seems to have screen shots of the menus, etc ? thats my real concern.

        http://www.digitalreviews.net/reviews/accessories/noontec-mo…

here's a really good review. still no menu pics.

        • I agree. I'm trying to find anything with respect to menu system to no avail

        • From the review:
"The Noontec logo is displayed during the start up process which takes UNDER A MINUTE." (Capitals added)

Is that supposed to be a good thing?
To me that implies it takes 50 odd seconds to boot up!

Also fan noise is mentioned as an issue.

I was about to jump on this too.. I've been thinking of picking something like this up for Mum and Dad.
          I think I can wait.

    • y post a chinese site?

      • its a chinese product you fucking monkey

        • No need for that kind of language mate.

This might help, though it's broken English, and the images aren't translated.

  • I got the Astone 300 when the deal was on 2wks ago. Great little unit which plays HD contents without any lags/issues. I have it connected via HDMI to my TV. The UI menu is easy and the remote control is a treat. It has RESUME function. Startup only takes around 5 secs and around 7-8secs for the system to detect the internal HDD.

  • It looks good. I googled around and found it actually can do BT downloading after upgrading the firmware. However the bad news is the manufacture just removed the upgrade firmware file from their download page. I would buy it if I can get that firmware supporting BT download, coz i don't wanna leave my noisy computer on 24/7. Still recommend it if you don't need BT download support at all.
