You never know what happens in 9 months time lol .

Whatever does happen, I guarantee breathing 40% sand-air and 38C at 6 in the morning will still suck.

        • Actually i dont mind the heat.

At the very least the sun doesn't burn like our sun here in Aussie

I remember staying in the sun for 3 hrs on the beach in Dubai with little change to my skin. On Sydney beaches, i go all tomato after a few hours

        • @easternculture: The hole in the Ozone is a plus to me for one reason. I find the woman likes that more. She tans in 2 hours and then it's a wrap; you can go and do something you like.

Saves me the headache of having to lie on a beach for 5 hours and listen to a barrage of fashion critiques of passing women and/or why I don't look like certain passing men (at which point I mention Fedor Emelianenko looks like a pudgy, balding accountant but can knock out 9 out of 10 dudes that walk the face of the Earth; she doesn't buy that though).

Niice .. have informed friends in Dubai .. should they find the need! :-)

    • Virgin/Delta in May is ~ $1200

That's 10x more!!! Ok 5x with the exchange rate. But still, don't give me four figures when you've just posted something 3 figures LOL

  • If someone finds a decent flight for September from Sydney to Europe, i'll buy you a beer :3

      • +2

Ahh you don't want to fly air India. Worst ever experience, from deteriorating fleet to arrogant crew.

        • I think this is cheapest available At this time. Then Air Vietnam via same link is $1191

        • +2

Air India are flying some new 787 Dreamliners. I haven't flown on them, but you can't claim deteriorating fleet if you end up on one of those…

        • +1

Deteriorating fleet? They fly 777-300s and 787s to Europe. Some of their fleet is more modern than Qantas'.

        • @braddsey:

787's are good. However there are other factors also involved to make your journey comfortable. Yes I have flown syd-del sector.

        • -2

          @Flying Ace:

Haha 777's how about you travel first and then put your opinion here.

        • +1

I was warned about them too but was pleasantly surprised flying them from Sydney to New Delhi in Sep 2013. The aircraft (777 if I remember correctly) was quite new and crew very accommodating of our requests. Maybe we just got lucky!

        • @nzthunderboy:

I have travelled to India numerous times, with Air India and other airlines and I have a very high interest in travel and airlines in general. I have travelled extensively so do know what I'm talking about. The 777 is not a deteriorating aircraft - it is one of the highest selling wide body aircraft ever, and is still in production and in use with hundreds of airlines across the world including Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, British Airways - do all of those have deteriorating fleets too?

        • -1

          @Flying Ace:

Scoot also have 777's so as other airlines. We are talking about air india in particular who's fleet is currently sub standard.
Even if you go through ratings whether it be trip advisors or skytrax, it has 2.5-3 stars.

        • @nzthunderboy:

I'm not disputing the quality of their service, just your argument that they operate a deteriorating fleet which isn't really true.

  • Wow - amazing deal, but so hard to access.
Can you organise a bargain on a linking flight?

  • +2

How do you find these magical deals?

  • this probably will be on their new a380s, awesome

  • +3

JFK-HKG rt for $272 is flat out incredible considering that's for almost 45 hours of actual flying time! If only it was possible the other way round.

    • The long flying hour to s the majors reason I have not plan to take a holiday in NY.but 45hours? How?

  • Sorry how do u book it. When clicking on the prices it linkes me to Etihad site ($940)

    • Wow, certainly an eye opener. Good catch, snoopgrl

  • +1

haven't been able to get these prices on booking sites….not sure how this is a deal then! has anyone?

  • the cheapest on your link from hk to ny is $802 with eva.

    • Same here. Can anyone suggest dates that actually show the prices in the original post?

    • Point of Origin is NY not HK… Not AUSTRALIA either

      • You are funny.

    • your a bit too late

Its been 14 hours since i posted this. Most dates would have been sold out by now

  • +1

Should this website's name be called NYbargain?

  • I used Onetravel and they were excellent - they even refunded the difference when my flight went down by $200. This was 2 years ago, don't know what has happened since?

  • Looks like all these deals are gone?

    • no probs. Ive marked it as expired

  • +2

Looks like Etihad will honour the fares.

    • Wow. Congrats to people who got this deal :P (Not sure how many?)
