30% off All Printers JB Hi-Fi

140

The prices seem very good compared to static ice as ticketed prices are pretty sharp already. Its already been hit pretty hard at my local. The best value seems to be in the $50 to $100 range. Edit - Link updated to all of printers page.

Goddammit JB - why no lazers

    • No lasers is kind of a good thing. Generic toner cartridge has higher chance of causing lung cancer than generic ink cartridges (which has almost little chance)

      • +2

if you're worried about cancer, you'd better stop using your phone, then

        • and driving under toll booths

@tdw: viral may be the operative word there. lead poisoning is so passe.

      • You shouldn't have your printer that close to you anyway.

  • Also get 25% of ink cartridges when you buy a new printer. Even though genuine ink cartridges in my opinion are very much overpriced.

    25% Off Ink Promotion
    * Buy any new printer and get 25% off the price of ink purchased in the same transaction.
    * Offer is limited to 3 compatible ink cartridges per customer.
    * Simply add both items to cart to receive the promotional price.

    • Yeah I noticed that, But the ink is probably still dearer than the whole printer for sub $100 ones.

Note Id Be careful with epson, my last epson was good to use but horrible for blocked nozzles & print head. I did use rubbish ebay ink though. So you end up wasting 2 hours on christmas eve removing the head and cleaning it out with windex only to find it wont startup afterwards without error. Then you find out you could have just replaced it for $48 from JB on boxing day. Well thats my exact experience anyway.

    • Seconding. My Artisan 725 was the most frustrating printer I've ever owned and I've vowed never to buy Epson again. It used to smear ink down the sides of the page if you used non-Epson photo paper, feed multiple sheets through at once. It could just be that model but it made me miss my little old Canon.

    • I also have a shitty epson (nx130) that never worked from the start. just use it as a scanner sometimes

    • +1

Really? I just moved from HP 309a to Epson WF 645. Extremely happy with Epson. I only use genuine ink tho, Epson worked out cheaper than HP. I'm on my way to try cheap compatible inks from ebay on Epson, hopefully that doesnt mess things up.

  • Help me decide. HP 6830 vs 5740.

    • EPSON 4630

  • Canon still have a cashback so this might be good

  • What is the best printer for multiple functions and value for money cartridges?

  • TGG have a cheap wireless HP inject for sale with WiFi, copy, scan $29. Want a better one for long term though.

  • Anyone know what the cheapest / best option with AirPrint compatibility would be? Mostly for printing text but occasionally photos. Need something to recommend to a relative.

  • Well most of the canons have print heads on the carts. Where epson and HP mostly have their print heads in the printer. If you print often the heads don't block up. If you print not so much the canons seem to be good cause your heads get refreshed when you get new carts.

keep in mind the canon promotional offer that dosada posted here.

    Canon PIXMA PRO-100

My wifi printer ended up costing minus $91.

    • that's good. too bad it's a lottery

    • This makes the canon MG5560 a steal. Even if it just takes $10 off. Hmm wish I bought the canon now. the lottery is a bit of a turn off. Flip a coin sales technique!

      • everyone's a winner babe and that's the truth

  • Epson WorkForce WF-2510 vs Canon Pixma MG5560?? Obviosuly pixma is cheaper cause of lottery cashback but epson has a fax

    • The Epson ink will be water resistant and won't fade.

Handy to fax that important news story back to the 80s newsroom. I'd go the canon.

Has anyone worked out which one has cheapest running cost if stay with genuine ink? Is it still HP officejet pro 8?

  • Purchased Multifunction Printer DJ1510 from Dicksmith in November for $21 — the store rep.said it is regular price & may go down during back to uni specials. Now it is nearly $40 (Merry Christmas) and JB HiFi is saying it is $28 after discount. They are ALL bloody robbers.

    • Harveys have it for 18. The only reason I would bulk buy printers if they were cheap mono lasers. Not much use doing it for inkjets.

  • Ended up cancelling my online hp 5520 order as it was at carindale as going there is a major hassle at the mo' and then bought the MG5560 for $48….

Got $30 cashback on the canon slot machine so it was worth the bother.

    • How are you finding the printer itself?

      • The canon seems okay. The carts seem a little small though. Found the wireless okay and seems to print well. The GUI on the printer screen is a little clunky but they all are really. I mean with the canon your at least going to get $10 cb so its really $38 max. $18 for me with the 30cb. I think the HP looked a bit more refined but who knows really. The canon does have 5 tanks with photo black. The heads are in the tray not the carts so you can buy eBay 3rd party carts.

        • Thanks I just purchased one from JB, can't really go wrong with the cashback offer, I just wish a company released a printer which would last and have an affordable ink solution, buying printers every year is getting tiring. Sure love the wireless though.

        • yeah its a bit environmentally irresponsible I find. I Just chucked a two year old EPSON MFC in the trash!.

Its worse now that the scanner gets chucked too but really im not keeping two printers on my desk. The $15 Big W printer that comes up on new years day on another post looked pretty good actually. that would be one to buy as a disposable and buy a couple.

      • Also has some cool auto on and time delay off enviro features which I reckon is good, the last epson Ihad was using 40W when left on doing nothing!

  • I find HP officejet series much better with officeworks selling them for $50

    http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/hp-officejet-…

    • Canon pixma is a killer deal with the cashback, I ended up getting the printer for free with some money in my pocket. I also calculated average cashback is $36.41 (skewed by the upper end prizes). Means average real price will pay is $11.89, which is the phenomenal price for a multifunction and this is not the base model pixma like the Big W pixma deal. It feels a bit slow however even though it has lots of good features I probably would hold out paying even the sale price 48.30 for it and go for a HP if they have better reviews.
