I've been eyeing one of these off for a while and have been waiting for the sales. Came across this good deal.

RRP is $549 but pre sales I could find these online for $399 usually. Yourhomedepot is having a sale on these silver units at $329. If you scroll down the page there are 4 types of bundles and the 4th is this machine + waffle maker for $5 less than the advertised sale price.

  Fantastic machine at a great price - if you're looking to get one, I would definitely go for it at this price!
  Have had an issue with service in the store, but delivery is fast and free, so a much better option :)

  was looking at these before, but got concerned that the machine won't automatically stop if the icecream overfreezes too hard, leading to motor burn out:

  that makes me lean towards the Breville Smart Scoop (currently $319 at Myer or $298 at Billy Guyatts).

    I'm upgrading from a pre 2000 kenwood ice cream maker, so i'm personally ok with stopping the motor before it gets too hard. I didnt even know that was a feature :P
    The Breville was considered, but has a 1 Litre capacity and 2 year warranty, where as this is 1.5L and 3 year warranty.

  Awesome price.
  Lets hope if anything goes wrong with the motor, as some people are concerned about, it will be covered in the 3 years warranty this company provides.

      I think the price for that bundle dropped to $319 at that time I posted and bought. But it's definitely gone back up to $329.

  I bought one of these in store this morning.
  I decided to go for the bundle which includes an excellent quality scooper (it's very heavy and feel like good quality) and 2 really good ice cream containers for $330. The containers are on sale for $18 each and the scooper was $15, so in value terms it ends up fairly similar to the waffle maker, but since I want to make ice cream and am not interested in waffles it was a much better deal for me. Even better was the fact that the $25 voucher was discounted off my purchase directly in store (but it seemed like only one of the sales people knew about it). So I only paid $305 for the lot.

  I preferred this to the breville for a few reasons:
  - Cheaper
  - 1.5 litre capacity instead of 1
  - 3 year wty vs 2
  - less fancy dials and gizmos

  The reviews I read of the breville indicate that it is also a great machine, but the "smart" sensors can't be relied on. Basically, no matter which machine you get you should make sure you don't leave it unattended and since it takes only about 20 minutes to make ice cream it shouldn't be a big issue.
  I'd highly recommend this deal.
