Bissell PowerWash PowerBrush Select $268 Pickup from Harvey Norman or Local Delivery $19.95

20

Been looking for a carpet shampooer for a while. Lots of good reviews on the Bissell products. This looks to be the PowerBrush Select model, but HN doesn't explicitly say. I suspect its a HN exclusive model as it's purple rather than titanium of the Select model as per Bissell's website. Normally HN retails for $568 (from google cache), Masters has it for $399, so $268 is pretty good.

http://www.productreview.com.au/p/bissell-bs25m1.html It's worth mentioning that adding more shampoo wont make the carpets cleaner. You only need the minimum amount to get the job done. Using a tank of plain water after cleaning with the shampoo liquid also helps to remove the residual shampoo from the carpets. Carpet shampoos typically contain an optical brightner with gives the carpet an appearance of looking cleaner. For stubborn stains, consider pre spraying with a spot cleaner.

This model looks very similar to the Bissell 44L6F (titanium colur) both have 5 rows of brushes, tank in tank, and a separate upholstery cleaning hose.

Suspiciously the HN model only comes with 12 months warranty whereas the Bissell product (44L6F) has 2 years warranty.

If you feel the water tank is too small try the Hoover (unfortunately only available at Godfreys or Hoover themselves) $299. http://www.godfreys.com.au/hoover-dual-power-twintank-carpet…

The Hoover has 2 separate water tanks - which appear to be very easy to remove and refill and 2 rows of brushes.

  • I would get this one

    $398

its the same as Harvey Norman's bissell premier cleaner $579

  • I got the Bissell one with the built in water heater. It does a good job, just as good as the commercial cleaners you call in, maybe even better? It is a slow process as they are a small machine.
To do it right you do have to take your time and only use the right amount of cleaner in the water.
They can get a bit clogged up and you have to give them a thorough clean out occasionally.
Done the house with it a couple of times now so it has paid for itself.
With the hot water the floor seems to dry faster. Can walk on the carpet in about an hour.

  • anyone has experience with this Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe?

I found on Ebay around USD $240 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/151534012477
but on godfrey AUD $699 http://www.godfreys.com.au/hoover-gladiator-twin-tank-carpet…

I can't find any website that has review about this product yet, anyone has experience with this product yet? very tempted with the price

    • I called Hoover and the 2 models which are being sold by Godfreys are also available for purchase directly from Hoover (not sure of the price)

There are some reviews on Amazon (USA models are 110V versions).

      • any tips mate, purchasing from amazon for item only ship inside USA only? i mean how to trick the system so the item can be deliver to australia

  • +1

You cant use a 110v item here in oz without a transformer.

If you want to purchase any item in USA, create a free account at www.shipito.com and send it to an American address. Once they receive it, they will photograph the box, email you the pic and then you can choose which method/cost/time to ship it to Australia. The cost to do this for a basic account is US$1 per parcel. I've used this a number of times. The parcel must be in your name in all locations, any attempt to send it to a different name will cause problems or prevent the parcel from being shipped out of USA to Australia.

I have done this with items from eBay and Amazon using an Australian credit card.

  • price is $289 now, anyone working with harvey norman in here?
