Ahh, did not find that in my search as it is not mentioned anywhere in the deal title or description (so I think this deal meets posting guidelines)

I see now its mentioned in 1 comment, but a lot of people would miss that, and it does not specify the price ends today.

At least 1 person was disappointed to see they had missed out on the deal ending yesterday - hopefully they can now buy one in time (from MSY or OW)

      • Picked up one at Officeworks today. Thanks for highlighting the special :)

    • I'm after this specific router and the link you've provided doesn't appear in my search parameters, so this deal is still valid.

Unless the OP on your link updates the comments, title, or tag with some extra info because currently it's severely lacking.

  • My Officeworks wont price match online specials ………..

    • MSY have heaps of physical shops - its not an online only price - you can do "click and collect" at MSY or just walk in and get that price.

      • No MSY in my city so they said they couldn't price match :(

Also think I want the R8000, on special at PCCG atm.

        • Ahh OK, looks like Wireless1, Computer Alliance, PCCG, and MegaBuy all have it for $249.

Thats $90 more - a 55% premium - from what I have read the R8000 is almost identical to the R7000 but with an extra 5Ghz radio? I havent looked at the specs myself tho.

        • @systmworks: I've been reading a bit more and I think your right, everything points towards the R7000 been the best bang for our buck.

  • Thanks, pricematched at OW and then they took 5% off the $160.55 , I didn't correct the mistake :)

  • Officeworks Doncaster tried to tell me that MSY had restocking fees, while OW has free change of mind swap/refund so they wouldn't pricematch. Called Glen Waverley who confirmed they would pricematch but were out of stock. Called Chadstone who had two left, they confirmed they would pricematch and put one aside for me. Drove there and they price-matched with MSY without any complaint at all.

The guy at Doncaster tried all sorts of crazy statements to get out of it including that MSY charge a 20% restocking fee (he later claimed 10%), and my personal favourite, that MSY's website says they will charge you a fee if you try to return an item to them under warranty rather than via the manufacturer. When I asked him to point out these terms on their website, he wasn't able to…

    • Yeah sometimes you get difficult people like that. Its not like the OW discount comes out of his paycheck.

Best to just do what you did and buy at another store..

FYI although this deal has expired (NSW time I guess, its 11:50PM here in QLD), the $169 price is still valid for order on the MSY website… if it hasnt changed by morning, might get longer out of this deal.

      • MSY still has it for $169 online:

I only got told about this router just before the Wireless1 offer ended and didnt have time to check up on it till last night.

I can't believe i didn't know about this router before.
I am gonna go into my local OW on the way home from work and price match MSY.

I successfully price matched MSY at OW Greenarce here in Sydney.

  • Thank you for posting this, I price matched it and they brought it down to $152.50 :).

  • If you price match at OW against Wireless1, Megabuy, or PCCG (all $189) the price comes down to $179

  • I have been using this router for a few months. Pretty rock solid device on stock firmware. The only negative thing is it is very very hot.

So am I, modest too. Seems like the R7K and I have alot in common.

      • Does that mean we can expect R7000 Jr?

        • I'm still nervous about that Y2K STD, your talking a whole other level of commitment :/

  • If any ozbargainer wants I dont need mine anymore as i got the R8000.

otherwise i will be returning to OW.
