The warranty from other shops is 10 years. My best guess is they are "grey imports" an are not covered by proper international 10 year warranty. Massive issue for me as the long warranty is important.
I have to agree. Bought a grey import samsonite before and was broken on a trans continental flight. Qantas actually went through the process for me and advised samsonite wanted nothing to do with it and qantas footed the bill for replacement parts. I was just lucky imight be different if flying a budget airline that wont cover the repair costs and there was no warranty, be a limpy luggage bag
Idk about this it seems a bit expensive to store my $1 shorts and shirts.
I think if the warranty is actually read, it usually shows that cases are covered for some things, but def NOT for actually taking on an air plane.
at the last samsonite sales in springvale,the large one went for $165, the small one went for $135..so that's 300 bucks in total..not the 599 bucks in this deal.
i purchased only the large one, though.Damn - that's cheap but how long was the wait in queue?
Well, the basic ozbargainer equation of whether it is worth it is: money saved (s) minus pay per hour (p) times queue wait in hours (q) is greater than cost of petrol (f).
I.e. if (s-pq)>f, then yes, it is worth it.
Is it cosmolite firelite though? Samsonite got other range looks similar as cosmolite but much cheaper.

They have twice clearance every year at 23A Smith Road Springvale, VIC. June and November. $100 for a small one and $180 for a large.
