50% off Launch Offer: New Endurance Blends [1kg from $22.45. $9.95 Shipping, Free over $99] @ True Protein

31

Hey OzBarganeers,

To celebrate the launch of our new endurance blends, we're throwing a 50% off sale for 24 Hours Only. Normally $44.90/kg (50 serves), the unflavoured version is now $22.45.

This carbohydrate/mineral blend provides sustained fuel throughout your workout and at this price should be of special interest to anyone who is into endurance sports (cyclists, runners, footballers, etc).

I have been sipping on this the last couple of weeks during big rides, spin classes, and weight training sessions and I find it helps give me a steady stream of energy to ensure I have a bit left in the tank come the end of the session. I really find I'm not flagging as much as I normally would towards the end of my exercise, plus I seem to recover quicker to boot.

The "raw" unflavoured version is mildly sweet, easy to drink. The naturally flavoured apple-coconut is a couple bucks more, but has a really nice, subtle flavour that I can't seem to get sick of (unusual for most supplements imo).

This offer can be combined with our current 30% off Whey Protein Isolate offer as well to help push you past the $99 threshold for free shipping. Otherwise, it's $9.95 shipping Australia wide.

Thanks to everyone thus far who has provided feedback thus far - we're always looking for ways to improve and I look forward to reading and responding to any additional comments or questions you may have down below.

Cheers,
Beau

For something that's mostly comprised of Dextrose/Maltodextrin, even a 50% off seems to be quite expensive. Surely someone would just buy those two ingredients for around $7/kg? Sure, there's some vitamins/minerals added but for $44.90 a kg? Just my 2 cents

Coopers Brewing Sugar for $7kg. That was recommended to me by my trainer as the most inexpensive alternative to the high end priced products.

      • Thanks for sharing!

I'll be looking into this coopers Brewing Sugar - looks good, and cheap:

My homebrew's is absolutely full of dextrose and maltodextrin.

If you're looking for it to make you improve your endurance….bad news, it doesn't work. Had the opposite effect on me. I put on heaps of weight and turned into a couch potato :-)

    • Absolutely.

You can buy Dextrose/Maltodextrine, throw in some salts, take a multivitamin and it would no doubt be much cheaper. In fact, this is what I used to do myself (we sell these separately).

That said, the results, taste and convenience offered by this blend make it superior.

Our regular price for this product is competitive with other blends of this type, but at this price, I think it's hard to pass up the benefits of pre-blended vs a cheaper DIY.

I buy my protein from BulkNutrients. Here are their prices for dextrose/maltodextrin

Lol you're piss*ng on the poor guys parade lol anyways just thought I'd say… any of this stuff is ok if u are competing or doing it for a real reason other then to pick up chicks lol… but most guys end up taking other stuff anyway to help them do both… a balanced diet works fine for me… i've never wanted to fit in at the gym or get big… just stay fit and toned… god gave me good genetics… I'm lucky like that but i can see why most people take this useless cra p… big money spinner …but everyone is doing it so hard to compete. Imo only paid athletes should worry about this kinda cra p…ppl with real day jobs ( or no jobs in most of these powder caaes lol) should stick to training normally and you'll have truly rewarding results that way because you learn about diet/food, exercise, your mind and body. GG

    cheaper elsewhere

    • Care to post links?

  • +3

someone has already posted the prices above if you cared to check

but for your information here's another competitors link:

until you can provide competitive prices i don't see why people would choose you other other companies.

Yep he's just taking advantage of this site now…Check his last post… He even says in the deal description he's not the cheapest, but he posted it because it tastes good.

That's not fair to say. We have just launched a new product and are offering it at 50% off.

If people would like to mix their own blends, great. If people don't mind spending extra to have something specifically tailored to their exercise regime, great. If those same people want to save with a launch offer, they now know about it via OzBargain.

In my last post, I acknowledged that our WPI wasn't the absolute cheapest, but it is independently certified, naturally flavoured/sweetened and imo, tastes great. For people who don't mind spending more for a premium product, but also are interested in getting a bit more for their money, the offer is (just as with this offer) a valid post.

Sure, I'm biased, but I know for a fact that not all sports supplements are created equal and not everyone has price as their absolute #1 concern (this includes me, and OzBargainer through and through.)

    • The links posted above were for some of the main components individually, but not all and not as a blend tailored to endurance exercise. Apples to Oranges, really.

If you have a link to a similar product that is cheaper, please share with the community. We have a good idea of what's available, but are always on the lookout for other popular products to compare with.

      Thanks for chiming in.

please take your patronising attitude and rip-off products elsewhere

if you're naive enough to believe that ozbargainers don't know how to combine dextrose and maltodextrin powder in a 1:1 ratio, and don't know how to differentiate between a deal and advertising, then i have bad news for you my friend.

        • +2

Eat a snickers bar…you don't speak for everyone here, so don't delude yourself that you do!

        • +2

I simply replied as objectively as I could and yes, I do appreciate the dialogue as it is important for us to take all feedback on board - both criticism and praise.

This product is not simply a 1:1 mix of dextrose and maltodextrin, but it's our job to ensure that we get that message across. If you got that impression from what I had written/the description on the product page that's our fault.

The product is positioned to compete with similar endurance blends which offer the same benefits. Here's a link to a couple for reference:
          http://www.tailwindnutrition.com.au/#!product/prd1/116295624…
          http://www.wildfiresports.com.au/endura-rehydration-performa…

They are typically expensive, but there's more than just malto and dextro that goes into these products.

If someone thinks they are in the market for a product like this, our sale price might convince them to do so. Once they try it, they may consider mixing their own, continuing to buy from us, or find a similar product for cheaper elsewhere.

At the end of the day, if they have tried something new and benefited from it, or didn't like it, crossed it off their list, but were still happy in knowing they got a deal and weren't out of pocket much - I think most would agree it's a good outcome either way.

        • -3

If you took feedback on board, you'd realise that you're flogging a questionable product (a whole other debate) at ridiculously inflated prices and would price your product accordingly. But hey, don't just take my word for it - look at all the comments above!

Secondly, your product is essentially just maltodextrin and dextrose (simple carbohydrates) and the addition of some electrolyte powder isn't going to magically convince people that it'll provide an advantage over the other sugar powders on the market, so stop trying to make your product out to be something it's not and saying we're comparing "apples with oranges".

Oh I'm sorry I forgot there are some gullible OzBargainers on here - let's make an exception for you then Tal_Shiar
