  • DO you know the model of the Toshiba Laptop

does anyone else here find out annoying that costco don't actually advertise their price but rather say $100 bucks off.

  • +1

Yes it is very annoying, there should be a Law that they should always advertise the selling price.

    • They probably have different pricing between the stores….
it also stops competitors from easily checking their prices
and the cynic in me thinks it's a "get them into the shops" marketing ploy.

      • Everything at Costco comes with a LIFETIME warranty.
Yes, you have to pay yearly membership to keep this benefit.
You get your original money back on any item, like a TV that gets a fault NO MATTER HOW OLD IT IS. No other retailer offers this without paying extra money.

Yes, Costco does not "Price Match", but this is superior.
They easily refund money if a food item is not fresh or fails your standards.
Of course it is up to you to compare prices the same as you would do any where else.
There are websites that offer price information on items at Costco.

and your rant relates the the comments above how?
The coupons (as posted buy the Op) don't advertise the final price.

You might want to read before bolding.

        • @supabrudda: A rant ignores the points raised.
I read the comments properly, addressed those points and raise other relevant points.
So my comments are justified and are not a rant.

I believe you can't advertise other websites like loaded trolley, on here, but I do find correct price listings for tech. prices at Costco, on sites like that.
Further Costco has a long term policy of not advertising "specials" or price reductions.

          @marcozmitch:
Nah it's a rant an irrelevant rant at that.

        • @supabrudda:
You have stated: [the cynic in me thinks it's a "get them into the shops" marketing ploy]
          I think you are wrong.
I have stated the Costco price information is available else-where.
I also have said that the Costco warranty is better than many other retailers.
I am yet to phone my local Costco up and see if they will offer price information over the phone.
Perhaps Costco may. I do not know.
I was very surprised when I rang Costco on another matter and they answered my call first time and within four rings!

You make a blanket assertion just by labelling my statement. This does not necessarily make it true.

You offer no facts, only scorn or assertion.

I did further research into Costco prices and found Kogan claims to be cheaper than Costco from a independent review Kogan pointed out.
The problem is, the review was very selective only and Kogan seems to have customer service issues, not including warranty issues.

I think I want to offer more than a take-it or leave-it approach you seem to.
I have been to Costco and I was very surprised.

The Costco marketing ploy is counter-intuitive compared to other retail stores.
          There is less razamataz.

I don't believe such a great many people, must be lacking in so much common sense and then go voting with their feet to Adelaide's New Costco.
It really seems to be extraordinary to me.

I do my homework before I go to Costco and then I may make a purchase decision.
I am seriously looking to buy either a UHD TV or a projector in the future.
In Adelaide (a smaller capital city), it is hard to see a wide range of UHD, Full HD, or even LG's OLED TV's of various sizes.
          But Costco has the lot.
So I can visit one bricks and mortar store and get a decent range of information.

Further Costco will give me my money back without question, if I am not happy.
So I could buy over-priced headphones and then get my money back if a competitor has them cheaper.

          RANT OVER

I agree with above comments. These are not really a bargain anyway.

Went to Costco Auburn today. Bose OE headphone is currently sold for $109 ($129-$20) which looks like a very good price when compared to prices in Amazon and ebay. Garmin Vivofit was selling for $90 I guess and now $80. Galaxy Tab 3 down from $150 to $125. (Prices are approx from what I remember)

  • Costco-I was really disappointed by prices, I guess they have some specials but the other prices on a lot of items weren't ozb level

    Petrol is cheap though

  • Anyone know how much galaxy tab 4 is?
