    The prices of TVs have plummeted so much for mid sized screens. It is crazy!

    I wait for the 70" plus prices to drop now.

      I tend to disagree, respectfully :) Prices for 55" tvs have been stagnant for the past year, if you were looking for the 3D/100Hz/Internet TV/FullHD/DVB-T from Samsung/LG/Sony/Panasonic top tier brands you need to pay close to $2000. Sure you could choose Hisense/Soniq/Kogan but compromise on the firmware.

      I recently paid $1098 for the 55" Samsung H6400 which I am quite satisfied with. It has the featureset I want without the laughable bells and whistles of being a curved TV/motion detectors/4K UHD aka low-content lololol.

      70" behemoths will drop in price but I can't imagine FullHD picture quality would translate nicely on the sets. I can see the shortfall of SD content on the 55" already!

    I think you'll find that the difference is also the chroma sampling (Colour depth)

      It's important to note that you won't be able to achieve 4k 4:4:4 @60hz on most video cards since they can't actually output that on their HDMI ports, only Display Port.

    Mm mm…….I do need a new tv. My 2years old plasma Samsung has 8-10 lines going down the screen. 2 yrs warranty sounds good.

    What is the chance of me getting the same deal? A lot of tele been slashing prices in the last few weeks. I wonder why…..? Not bad reviews online.

      Every year around Jan to March/April i have noticed this trend. Then the new crop of TV's comes out with almost the same features but cost almost double.
