Hisense 40" (101cm) FHD LED LCD TV 40K20P $378 Free Pickup or $30 Metro Delivery @ TGG

50

Bought this week as a second TV to run PS3, movies and TV series (can do full HD 1080p). Works well, sound is much clearer than old Panasonic 40inch TV (maybe a decade older though!). I picked up in Castle Hill store. Great value, was looking at 32inch TVs, but this value made them a terrible idea. Was $579, but available at MYER for $449 via statice, I paid $378, tgg might discount a few more dollars if you bundle or beg :-) but the price is pretty low. A 3 year manufacturer warranty sealed the deal.

The closest review I could find was http://www.productreview.com.au/p/hisense-k20-series.html and seemed to be positive.

nb. Delivery is free is bought by someone with a seniors card to their address, at least from Castle Hill store.

Accurate and balanced sounding, this television is a brilliant selection to provide increased entertainment. Its 40-inch screen size lets you see clearly without fatigue. Plus, the Hisense 40K20P has 1080p HD video. Pick out crisp details in videos thanks to its 1920 x 1080 pixel screen resolution. What's more, the Hisense 40K20P television has a 50 Hz refresh rate, so you can watch flicker-free motion in animation and sports. Its three HDMI inputs enable you to hook up to all types of high-definition video gear. Also, the Hisense television sports a USB connection and a 3 year warranty. It's an outstanding choice for watching movies on a compatible Blu-Ray player.

    • I don't mind refurbished, I was looking for a longer warranty though. Nice find!

    • Good price! I sweat that was about $100 more expensive a week ago.

        It's not worth sweating over.

    • Just nabbed one for the bedroom. You should post this as it's own deal. Thanks.

      • No worries, stock level indicator says low.
So can't post as a deal.
Edit - Looks like you got the last one.

        • Mine said gone also, but still let me purchase. I wonder if they will have one for me!

  • Bought a viano 40" for 285 looks Pretty good when connected to pc and xbox 360

    • Nice price, I was looking at 32inch TVs at that price before, all the TVs seem to have dropped in the last few months. Was it with a one year warranty? Where from?

      • Dealsdirect and no idea about warranty. I'll assume at least one year. For the price I didn't care too much for warranty.

Also just got the dicksmith 39.5" TV for $220. Not as good as the Viano

  • Does it have integrated WiFi or Ethernet port?

    • It's not a 'smart' TV, but it has 3 HDMI ports for PS3, PC or chromecast, to give you similar functions. I've used smart TVs before and I prefer something plugged in.

  • And any thoughts about Kogan one its 50inch for $435. https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-50-led-tv-full-hd-za/?utm…

I've looked over Kogan products before, as they are sent from Hong Kong and the contract is with Kogan HK, warranty may be awkward to enforce, compared to a local bricks and mortar store. As for this TV I have no idea. The hisense TV has a PVR built into, just need a USB stick to record or play existing movies.

  • Understand it's not a 'smart' TV, wondered if connecting Chromecast would it be possible to obtain Program TV Guide or Freeview / Plus ?

    • I think there is an Electronic Programming Guide with digital TVs already, with this TV you could use the PVR function to record too. With Chromecast and a android tablet/laptop, you could cast any of the regular channels to the TV, if you didn't manage to record it that is.
