  • Maybe one day there will be a deal ex Adelaide?

    • it'll never happen, flights Adelaide to SE Asia are across the board more expensive than ex-Perth as the flights are so much longer.

(not to mention there are far fewer of them, and fewer carriers flying out of Adelaide, not in the least LCCs)

      • I know… just hoping for any flight deal to be posted ex Adelaide (international or domestic). I do my homework, but bargains in the City of Churches seem to be few and far between (especially since Qantas cut out a number of direct routes, incl Singapore).

        • seeing as we didn't even give AirAsia X enough business for them to bother staying in Adelaide, if you want a decent deal on travel, look ex-Melbourne (and snag a cheap flight to Melbs). It's the only way.

I checked all other departure points, but only Perth has the deal this time.

Here are all the flights to Singapore:

  • +1 for the note :)

  • just for curiosity, if we book directly via jetstar then isn't that you don't get anything at all?

nvm, I guessed I answer my own question, it is referral for other bookings site :)

    • +13

Well, I get the warm fuzzy feeling that someone has been helped :) Other than that, correct.

There isn't an issue, though. The site is called 'OZBargain' not 'PromoteIWantThatFlight' so I am happy to add the note about Jetstar. Also, hopefully the site is useful enough so that next time you are travelling you think of iwantthatflight.com.au.

I've actually been using it recently for looking at flights, not a bad site :)

      • What kind of commission do the airlines pay out to flight search/aggregators and travel agents?

Is it a flat rate, or much smaller on sale fares?

        • +2

It is different for each supplier (eg Expedia vs ZUJI vs Jetabroad etc). Airlines have been pushing down commissions all around the world for years, which is why a lot of sites now charge a booking fee.

The money is in Hotels (comparatively).

        • @IWantThatFlight: no wonder expedia bundle the price and they are able to give discount 10% on their hotel

  • +1

That is a damn good price for a return trip… thanks OP.

  • $281.00 (once you click through to Expedia) Perth to Bangkok with only a 90 min stopover each way in Singapore - utterly amazing! http://iwantthatflight.com.au/x2PERBKK-Flights-from-Perth-to…

  • On a side note rep, can you change the search without just altering the URL?

For example, if I wanted to search for the cheapest flight from PER to HKT on any upcoming weekend, is that possible? Or do I just have to search every weekend?

    • +1

      Hi Bomber_bloke,

I'm not quite sure I understand. You can change the search by entering 'Perth' to 'Bangkok' in the blue searchbox at the top of the page and choosing 'Anytime" for depart & return. That will take you to:
      http://iwantthatflight.com.au/x2PERBKK-Flights-from-Perth-to…

You can then alter the filter, which changes the url. Eg, I changed the return date to '1 week later' & clicked 'Filter Flights'. The url is now:
      http://iwantthatflight.com.au/x2PERBKK-Flights-from-Perth-to…

Does that answer your question? In regard to weekends, we don't have a filter for that (though it is in the pipeline). For the moment you can set date ranges for the depart & return dates, as well as specify the return date be in weeks from the depart date.

Perfect! I missed the anytime button on the calendar and that had me fooled!
Because I burn through too much leave throughout the year, I'm often limited to just finding long weekend getaways at a good price, so that would be an awesome addition (Ie. fly out day of week - return 3 days later search)
My more flexible friends who usually just go on one or two big trips a year usually come to me for flights, so your site has made me look like a hero!!

  • any recommendation for any cheap ticket destination to Europe return ticket in Sept?

  • Noticing the Perth-KL cheap flights have a stopover in Denpasar. Considering that Indonesia hasn't enforced the free VOA for Aus passports, you'll need to add USD35 for the visa to get in, get your luggage. Then you'll need to pay Rp200,000 airport tax to get out.

Am I correct in assuming this? Or could anyone enlighten me?

  • 6 days in April….22/23-27/28 April.

      Dep. Tue 21/Apr/15Ret. Wed 29/Apr/15 $242

All the $202 flights that depart in April return in May.

      • Cheap flight found.
        Goes to 'travel.com.au'
Try to book…..every flight selected is not available or had a problem trying up book any flight around these dates.
Annoying and frustration when its always 'experiencing difficulties' or 'flight not available'

        • +1

I checked out some of the flights that you mentioned - and got the same problem with Travel.com.au. I was able to get through on Expedia, though it was a bit more expensive ($20) - would that be an option? Sorry for the hassle.
