    Doesnt have have melbourne…only perth!?!?!

    • MEL to KL on the 23rd of Feb has $119 flights. This sale has been on for a while though so I wouldn't expect to see too many $119 flights available.

Required advanced booking… what does that mean?

    • Advanced booking means exactly what it says:

      Travel Period : 11 Jan 2010 - 30 Apr 2010

So you're booking in advance - in this case nearly 3 months in advance - Even more if your booking for April.

2010 sale!!! Only one flight with fare of AUD119.00 (23rd Feb 2010) from MEL to KL. With return fare of around AUD300.00. I wouldn't call this a bargain.

Did you look at Feb 9, 11 or 13? 52AUD one way

      • Holy crap you're right. How did I miss that?

This is an incredible bargain. This would almost rival the 3,000,000 seat sale they had in Aug. Great find themonty :)

Return fare is still the same. crap deal

  • Its $52 one way without airport tax. There is a $67 airport tax bring it to $119.

Booking period for "HOT 2010 Sale" started today according to the ad on AirAsia website (19-25 oct). I received their email notification last night. Now, there is virtually no sale ticket available between MEL and KUL. As if they had about 10 discounted seats and all went within the first hour…..

Compared with previous AirAsia sales, this is pretty lousy. Today is the first day and only one flight offers the advertised $119 fare from MEL to KUL (on Feb 23). And, there is no cheap KUL to MEL ticket to combine with the above.

Since of late finding the advertised AirAsia sales/promotional fares is like finding a needle in a haystack.

If not for Adioso, it is virtually impossible to find discounted tickets.

    • Please read themonty's post above, there are many more flights than just the one I mentioned. Adioso is convenient but not upto date.

      • I saw themonty's post and checked the fares for Feb 9, 11 & 13 before posting the above post. $119 fare was not available at the time. And yes, I checked on AA's booking page, not just on Adioso as I am aware that Adioso is late in picking up fare changes. I have noticed that since then a few more sale fare seats have become available for both directions.

  • Please change the title, it is $52 excluding tax.. its $119 including tax. Thanks.

  • still cheap comparing to other airlines. I am not booking this time because I already booked 4 months ago when they had the $99 sale.

  • It would be great if someone post up their experience for mel to kul flight… I am going on holiday next month and not knowing what to expect. With that price (i paid $213 return) i dont expect anything at the moment.

Do you think it is a good deal Value VS Quality wise flying with airasia on medium journey such as mel to kul??

    Any comment is great!! thanks

    • I cant speak for others, but I have only ever had good experiences on this airline. I've done the Melbourne > KL return trip with them a number of times now and have had absolutely no problems (am going again in November). Flights were on time, and staff were friendly and attentative. As budget airlines go, they are pretty darn good. Having said that, you must remember that at the end of the day, they are a budget airline and so all "extras" like food, drinks, comfort kits etc including checkin baggage needs to be paid for, but they make this very clear that they are not a "full service" airline. As such, for the price you pay airasia provides excellent value for overseas travel. Heck I've paid more than $213 for return domestic flights on budget carriers.

Pack your bags (within the weight limits haha) and jump on board without any hesitations, you will not regret having spent only $213 :)

      • Wow glad to hear that. i was worried sick that my holiday will turn into flight hell roller coaster. Well finger cross i will get the same experience with you.

I will post the review later.
