  • $149.99 typical ! Receive free shipping when you spend over $150 haha whyyyy do they make it off by $0.01 ! Silly

    • +1

yeah, the best option would be to add the cheapest item to get over the $150 total which seems to be one of their cases.
e.g. you can add this case for the My Passport for $14.99 so the total is $164.98.

If you want to buy the case for the My Book it is $24.99 which would bring the total to $174.98 which is $7.74 more than just the hard drive + shipping.

    • I haven't looked at the webstore yet, but could you not buy a cheap USB cable to bring it above $150 but under $167? Or maybe pay a little extra for something small to make it over the limit?

      • The USB cable is $19.99 which is an option too.

        • i was going to edit the comment which you posted whilst i was typing away.

          ok, so here goes
          usb cable: $19.99
          hard drive $149.99
          total: $169.98

therefore by paying an extra $2.74 you get an extra USB cable. surely one from WD is "valued" at more than $2.74

Or you could try and pricematch at officeworks.

Why not just buy 2 for $299.98 delivered? All their cables are overpriced.

    • +1

some people might not want 2 units my book.

      • Then sell one to your friends or facebook buddies?

        • or more to the point go in with someone from ozbargain… thought we weren't buying from WD anymore seeing as what they did last time…

    • my thoughts exactly

    • Yup.
Sorry OP, can't + the deal for ya.

    • Yep… I see WD in a thread post these days, and a little bit of spew comes up.

      Never again.

      • Not my idea of a backup

After the last fiasco, I am ordering nothing from WD store.

  • The price in the link is $199.99.

    Am I missing something?

    • It's 149.99 for me

      • OK, interesting. I was logged into the WD website (I have an academic account) and the price was showing as $199.99. Logged out and revisited the site - and the price showed as $149.99.

  • Do these have a 3 yr warranty?
Is the warranty void if you open the case?

Is the warranty void if you open the case?

What do you think? Of course the warranty is voided, if you pull your TV apart do you expect them to honour the warranty?

    • +1

there's usually a sticker saying 'warranty void if removed' over a screw or split line on the case.
Its at best 'optimistic' to think they might honour warranty after disassembly.

  • Spare my ingorance, is it a wireless solution or NAS?

    • +1

Spare my ingorance, is it a wireless solution or NAS?

Neither, it's exactly what it says it is and that is a USB drive.

  • Jb HIFi will price match.. Just bought couple for my NAS from Mildura JBHIFI..

    • Officeworks will pricematch minus 5%.

Ended up getting mine for $285 for two units.

    • Does JB hifi just price match or drop further 5% ?

      • From what I know it is price match only. Of course this could be dependent on the staff on duty who may exercise discretion

  • expired? $250 now
