  • very good deal specs wise!

  • lol not much biting going on, seems half of Australia own an Asus by now.

  • About 2 weeks too late for me, I would of snapped this up…

  • Anyone have any links to reviews on this laptop?

  • Cnet.com has a couple of mentions of the older version of this, ratings range from 8 out of 10 to 10 out of 10

That is a fantastic price on a mobile with an upper mid range gfx card.

    Pity about the real estate.

If my Inspiron wasn't still clocking along nicely, I'd get this for sure.

    Definitely an awesome gaming box.

  • can someone tell me, how does the graphics card in this compare to a 256mb 8600m gt ddr3? thanks

    • smashes it.

      • like a lot? would i expect a significant increase in fps?

        • Well if you look at the link I posted 9 minutes before your post you can see for yourself. look at items 77 and 33.

  • Thanks testeagle and casey2

Just brought one. I was looking to buy a new computer soon anyway.

  • Great notebook, from what I heard can get very hot (maybe they should bring the notebook cooler thing back :D)

    • wow someones being a real little commie deleting my comments for no reason whatsoever (twice already)

for that reason i'm gonna neg cause it's starting to get on my nerves

      good deal though

Nice deal but COTD has really bad customer service!

They sold me a SATA docking station without a SATA bracket for connection to a PC, when i request the missing part be posted to me ( As it stated on the box its included ) They did nothing! thats just appalling and dishonest!

    • i don't see how your bad experience has anything to do with this deal

      • +1

        I do see the relevance.
If i am ordering something, especially of such high value, i would want to know how good their customer service is, ESPECIALLY in case i do not receive the item.
Technically, you are voting for the "bargain" factor, reliability of specs provided, as well as the credibility of the retailer.
        ++++
Giving an extreme example, lets say someone on OZBargain sells 40inch Plasma TVs for $300. Lets say no one from ozbargain received the goods after payment.(ie. was ripped off $300 times no. of users). If he were to post anymore deals, no matter how good it is, everyone is still going to neg it. (ie. Voting has to do with Merchant's credibility as well)

        • Yes, and that's why it's grossly unfair to neg this deal and badmouth COTD here; for what really is a fairly minor oversight on a single order out of thousands elsewhere; without at least using all avenues of recourse to alert COTD & resolve the situation! ;)

    • +1

Send me the order number, I think from reading your post I can already figure out whats gone wrong, but please e-mail me and lets see whats happened.

      • customer service team emailed me. very happy with your service, thanks a lot. can't wait to receive my netbook.

      • My order number is : 669536

EDIT ! I was contacted by COTD and they are sending me the missing part! They are back in my good books!

        +1 for COTD Support!

    • why was my comment removed?

    • Pretty weak to neg this deal based on an isolated incidence of something completely unrelated being misplaced in your also utterly unrelated order! :(

I've had issues with Samsung and their warranty as well.

A few years ago, constant niggly problems with a high end Samsung laptop I purchased. Sent it in, and the technician told me to live with the problems since they weren't major!

Can you believe that… my computer only overheats, loses all input connections once in a while and it's something I should tolerate from all the money I'd handed over to Samsung!

But maybe they've changed their 3rd party company who look after their returns/warranty. Who knows.

  • I also ordered the ACER Ultraportable, which featured on Ozbargain recently. I haven't got it yet, even though I ordered it nearly 3 weeks ago & in spite of follow-up emails, I have heard nothing back… I really wonder about their customer service!!

    • +1

Do more than email. Ring them, speak to the rep here, do something!

Everyone else (myself included) got theirs within 2 or 3 business days. Yours obviously got lost and will never arrive unless you get onto them about it. I've found them pretty good to deal with in my experience.

  • I couldn't get a phone number on their web site, can anyone help with that please? I had ordered another item from them, which arrived within a couple of weeks, hence the delay on the ACER is surprising. But their customer service has really let me down, I have had no replies to my emails so far.

I wrote an email last week regarding the ASUS netbook, got a reply the next day. Seems to be reasonable on follow up. I have bought a couple of small items from COTD before. So far so good. will see what happens with this issue I am having.

  • for the record. Ive purchased a couple of things from COTD and was very happy with both deals so you know.
