Annual fee of $199 — listed under flexibility in features.

    • The Veda offer for a lifetime $0 annual fee is still available, though.

Just make sure you check your welcome pack if applying as they included the annual fee in my pack when they shouldn't have. Rang them up and they reversed it from here on in.

Ah thanks. Makes offer a bit meh.

  • +3

They have apparently removed the fee (article in paper).
If it is still showing on the website, give them a call.

Also, don't do it. They will find amazing ways to mess it up, then it'll take hours/days of your life to have the mistake reverted.

EDIT: Please don't judge me for reading the Herald Sun, I had time to kill and that was all there was!
So apparently they initially had a 3% balance transfer fee, which has since been waived. My apologies, no mention of annual fees!

"Citibank has put heat on the market by offering what is understood to be the nation's longest interest-free balance-transfer deal spanning 24 months. It has also dumped it's three per cent balance-transfer fee that was originally charged when customers signed up."

I vouch for the 'They will find amazing ways to mess it up, then it'll take hours/days of your life to have the mistake reverted' part.

Had a 0% balance transfer for 6month and they messed it up because the sales guy totally lied about the T&Cs. took me weeks to sort it out. I had to escalate and eventually got it sorted but will not do again unless they gave me money!

      • What was your problem, rexi? In the beginning or end? I have one balance transfer will expiry in two months.

        • +1

My problem is in the beginning when I signed up. I asked the sales dude 3 separate times regarding treatment of retail purchases when I have a balance transfer and he gave me bs. After I signed up it was completely different on my statement. my balance transfer is ending next month too and I've given up on it. They called me a few weeks back to say if I wanna go on a new offer of some balance transfer and I know the chance of it stuffing up is 99.99%

I also tried Ready Credit. Good in theory, pain in practice. Applied for 30k, and they approved only 8.8 and went through without telling me at all. Sales chick also lied and signed me up for a transactional account since she said it was needed. I fought them to get the establishment fee wavered since I said I wanted 30k and not some half-arsed amount.

          @rexii2300:
i see. the limit is tricky because we dont have control, they can decide what they want.
i got big issue aswell, the Filipinos staffs are hopeless, 2 different people say A, once i make move, the 3rd person say B - and they stick with that B! cost me 3 weeks and many phone calls but finally they sorted it out and give me compensation points, so well, not too bad.

@erwinsie: Does their nationality have anything to do with it?

    • +3

Agree. Citibank customer service is a debacle. Don't go there unless you really have to.

      • Once you established your account with them it works well but if you want to change or rearrange something (and it is what effectively you are doing when opening an account and doing a BT) they are hopeless.
My wife has a college from the Philippines, and that lady complained about call centres located there as well.
So, those issues are nothing to do with the accent or language skills level, it is more probably related to professionalism or lack of it within the team.

        • agree. i also think its related to too many staffs, and lack of training (and quality control). thats why they are generous with compensating people when they make mistake. kind of "yes we are aware we are not that good"

  • Wait so this has had the annual fee removed?

    • +1

No, not the annual fee, that's still a ridiculous $199. They've removed the 3% transfer fee on existing balances that they used to have!

I made mention of this deal on another post where someone was trying to push Westpac's 14 month offer!

  • Hmm I'm existing but will try to ask again even though I still have some balance from previous balance transfer deal

  • Does anyone know where i can find the terms and conditions for this credit card? and most importantly the balance transfer?

    • +6

There's this new site on the web called Google. You just type in Citibank, click on the link, then follow their menus to credit cards and Ts & Cs!

  • I think i may have found the T&Cs on the home page and they seem to make no mention of balance transfers from other Citibank cards, So does this mean i can transfer from one card to another?

    • I have taken up some deals with Citibank & they have included the option of 'Cheque to Self'. If you can with this deal, then you will not have a problem. They seem to be willing to throw money at people, and so I would put money on it. (Theirs - not mine)

I think the op needs to update the title to include $199 annual fee in there.
Ultimately it would be $398 over the 24 months, I would say one would need to weigh up the cons/pros dependant on the amount transferred in.

  • can i have 2 credit cards from same bank?

    • yes you can for citi. i just got my second recently.

  • +2

revoke my vote because of $199 annual fee, this should be updated in title

  • Seems like their signature card which until recently was annual fee free has a $299 annual fee now but comes with 60000 bonus points.

  • +3

Firstly this is not a bargain…$199 for credit card fee…A BIG NO….i would prefer this to bankwest zero platinium card with no annual fee.

  • -4

Stay away ppls. Iv ben with them never again. Never ever again.

  • Coles 18 months 0% no annual fee anyone?

    • +1

coles usually VERY low credit limit, unless you do not have any other loans or cards, and earning millions

  • +1

I got this card when there was 3% transfer fee. However, they waived transfer fee plus annual fee as well.
The only thing i can recommend everyone is that do not use this card for any other purpose except balance transfer….

  • +1

    $398 for the 2 years?!

Kill it… kill it with fire!!

  • From my experience, they are too much conservative in credit limit and too slow, too much inquiry. So also had to apply to St George card to cover more and get more credit limit….

    • citi conservative? not for me (been customer for 6 years tho).
also, anz is good too. i had over $50k limit with few banks and they still give me $30k limit. on the spot!

      • I know I am not lying, and the customer service is painful, even though I supplied necessary documents(uploaded via the link they provided) they could not track it. As I was not happy with the credit limit, they asked me to apply for reassessment by explaining in writing why I want more credit limit. After so many back n forth I finally gave up asking for increase in limit. So later applied for St. George card and got card before citibank.

Well I finally got my card of citibank. No matter what, in future, I will continue with citibank as credit limit is the lowest compare to annul fees I have to pay.

  • if u are a citigold client apply via rm and the annual fee is $0 for this promo

    • +1

      What does RM stands for?

      • If you are a citygold you would know.
Joking ;-) RM is a relationship manager, a person assigned with a list of high rollers to make the milking experience pleasant and coordinated.

  • relationship manager RM anyway you need 100k in loans or investments to become a citigold client

  • +1

    $199 Annual Fee

    not bargain

  • If you apply for the Veda Score Signature deal and don't meet the income, they'll send you this for $0 annual fee.

  • I am not sure if you guys are aware but Citi perhaps is the only FI where you can transfer a secured/unsecured personal loan to a credit card.
I was paying ~$110/month in interest on a secured car loan which I paid out using one of the previous offers and will be saving around ~$1,700 in interest over two years.
