Mods supporting businesses that ripoff ozbargainers!

I made a purchase originally from Groupon Australia from previous deal and they supplied me with a voucher code that was invalid for my state. They wouldn't provide me with a refund because I never followed their terms, despite the deal being Nationwide and despite the date being before the voucher had expired. You can see my comments here on previous deal and note the date's. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/168330#comment-2397195

Now the mods are revoking my neg on Groupon deals despite abiding by their rules of negging which state I can neg on the basis of having major issues with retailer. Now selling voucher codes that don't work in your state which are nationwide and not providing a refund isn't a major issue with retailer?

Now I am trying to do the right thing and warn others about this dodgy retailer, but mods don't want to hear and don't want to provide an explanation why. The deal was even listed here as nationwide despite other wise. So now ozbargain is going to stand by idling happily false advertising and supporting company's that ripoff other ozbargainers?

Incorrect. The community voted down your comment(s), e.g.here thus revoking your negative vote.

    Ronnnie,

You are being downvoted by the community because you seem like you're just going off on rants, especially since you have started to accuse unrelated parties (mods/ozbargain) of some sort of conspiracy with Groupon… making more threads about it will not help.

Yes, your situation is frustrating but going off at everyone else won't do jack. If you truly believe you are in the right, perhaps initiate a chargeback on your CC?

And if Ronnie, you fail with CC refund try Consumer Affairs/fair trade or what ever goverment body in your state.

The other thing to consider, Is the payoff better than the payrate and life memorys that can be made for the time you will take to resolve it.

Anyway goodluck with what you decide.

oh by the way what is your hourly rate of net income after personal expenses and then compair the hourly rate of the evil guys. How long will it take for you to pay for support and would the evil guy notice the same cost/ ( if you go all the way to legal fight)

I already did that, and already got my money back that way.

I am forewarning others about this company because the way they dealt with me.

      • Ozbargain or Groupon ?

        • Groupon

        • @Tafe:

I think you should say sorry to OzBargain Ronnnie, only then can you channel all your hate towards Groupon.

    • I'd suggest the OP reports their own post asking them (you know, those evil no good mods) to change the title to something more suitable as already suggested and moving it to a more appropriate area of the forum.

I think the mods on OzBargain are quite fair

  • The problem with 'issues with a retailer' neg votes is, short of there being serious enough circumstances to ban deals from being posted, where does it end? Groupon might have 5-10 deals posted per week, that doesn't mean that negging all those deals helps (it may just increase the white noise if you see the same users rehashing their previous warnings).

Solution? There are the automatic Product Review / PricePal links but I'm not sure how useful they are as negatives are always highlighted more than positives (although there's an interesting discrepancy between the two Groupon pages). Maybe just create a forum thread if the issue is serious enough. There could be an option to list on a retailer's product page just the deals that have attracted negative votes to see if there's any ongoing issues.

Maybe you should have titled this 'Beware groupon voucher discount codes - Groupon refuses to honour'. You attack on the mods was unjustified.
