This is the latest Civilisation game and the sequel to the highly successful Civilization 5.

Is available to play on Windows and Mac

Give it a go I reckon, might make a good Saturday night after the socceroos win :)

There is also a good deal on Civ: Beyond Earth classics edition which includes CIV 3 Complete, 4, 5 and Beyond Earth for $55USD.

There's already a free demo available. I downloaded it a few weeks ago and tried it out but the game isn't my cup of tea… overly complicated with a seemingly large learning curve. I didn't have the patience. Loved Master of Orion though.

just get Endless Legend, much better game

    • So true. I've got all 3 of their titles now, all I can say is "awesome"!

  • There is also a good deal on Civ: Beyond Earth classics edition which includes CIV 3 Complete, 4, 5 and Beyond Earth for $55USD.

I'd hope that pack would include all expansions for Civ4 and 5 too, not just the base C4 and C5 game.
Beyond Earth is a re-imagining of Sid's Alpha Centauri

looks like it's just the base Civ5, Steam tend to be very exact with their naming on what products are included.

For an extra buck it's a no brainer, but BNW is by far the best playing experience, the base game is kinda meh. Worth waiting for a $5-10 sale on a complete edition (it's $20 right now) if you really want Civ5.

  • Beyond Earth is okay, feels a bit too much like a civ 5 expansion though and I perfer civ 5 anyway just because I like dealing with historical leaders.

There is something awesome about Gandi wanting to nuke you

      • Alternatively, Elizabeth and her "Would you like to make a trade agreement with England?" provides for hours of entertainment

Yeah that gives me stiffies too

        • They're really 'polished' the civ leaders in Civ5 haven't they?
Hawt queens/princesses everywhere, which is a stark contrast to Civ4 BTS which was mostly a sausage fest.

    • I couldn't stand the constant attention the trade routes require, spent more time confirming trade routes than playing the game I think. And the tech tree is like "WTF"!
