I have mine from last time sitting in airplane mode in my kids room as a music player :) Great price for a cheap mp3 player that i can sync etc.

    • sync or sing??

      • *sync via wifi etc… :)

I have also bought the Telstra Tempo Prepaid last time for $28 (after X'Mas special ended that is why $28 not $24.50) with extra $20 Google Play Credit, so technically only $8 as a Chromecast, Bluetooth music player.

I bought both 530 and the Tempo.. Gave the Nokia one away so might buy another one. Windows App store was disappointing though lol

  • Slippery phone as review above suggests

  • Anyone know if this phone (or rather windows phone) works with car stock head units?

My car (2012 civic hatch) can control iphones from the steering wheel and stuff… however, I personally use Android which doesn't have this function. Would a window phone work?

    • win-phone 8.1 supports Bluetooth AVRCP (a/v/ remote control) version 1.4
The 2012 Civic does 1.3, i think. But Android should work as well. Android works fine with remote control from my sony radio.

      • Tried plugging my samsung in before but it didn't work =(

I'll give my Z3 ago and see if it works

        • Plugging? You mean USB? I'm talking about bluetooth.
I'm not aware of a USB standard for that sort of thing.

        • @manic:
Yeah I meant usb, I know my friends iPhone works

        • Doesn't your car have bluetooth? Thats the way to go.

        • @manic:

I don't have bluetooth… nor do I really want it. I just want to hook up my phone for music

        • @ProjectZero:

Thats like saying "I don't want petrol, I just want my car to go." Your car does have bluetooth (standard i think? no logo on your radio?), and thats how it connects to phones. Stop being stuck in the Apple proprietary mindset.

        • @manic:

Nope, bought the car prior to that becoming standard… how am I stuck in the apple proprietary mindset? I use Android…

        • @ProjectZero:

Its just that you said "I don't want bluetooth" when that is the tool for solving your problem (car talking to any phone except apple).
And I checked and read that BT is standard on 2012 Civics. Perhaps not in Oz?

        • @manic:

that was have… As I don't have it as standard, I don't want bluetooth because it compresses my WMA. Another reason is i just want to be able to control it from my steering wheel as you're not supposed to touch the phone whilst driving.

Also, bluetooth is not standard for all models

        • +1

          @ProjectZero:

Well, unfortunately, the way to do that is Bluetooth. You can touch your phone if it is in a cradle.
Or you could get a ipod for your car.
My car only has bluetooth for phone function, not music, so things could be worse for you :-)

        • @manic:

I didn't know the cradle rule. Awesome!

  • Will this work with Telechoice sim?

    • Won't work with TeleChoice etc, only telstra, and bagman can't unlock them any more :(

      • +1

Works perfectly fine with boost too

  • $20 on ebay to unlock this set.

  • smartphone newb here. can this run kingdom rush origins?

  • Can confirm it's the 530, not 450.
Picked one up at Marryatville SA this morning, they had one more in stock.

    • Catalogue apology

In the Woolworths catalogue, on sale Wednesday 28th January 2015, the Nokia Lumia 450 on page 13 has been advertised with an incorrect description. The correct description is Telstra Nokia Lumia 530, the Nokia Lumia 450 does not exist.

  • Thanks OP. Cheap MP3 player. Phone function is a bonus.

  • +1

I have been to three Woolworths now and none had the phone in stock. They had not sold out. They just did not receive any.

  • I think its about $100 to unlock it through Telstra
