Thanks, appreciate you posting these offers.

The lilly pilly can grow quite tall if you don't keep them trimmed. Very aggressive growers, good for a quick hedge.

The 210mm pots are cheap too

    • Will they outgrow the pot?

      • Most likely the plant would have already outgrown the 180mm pot(root bound). They are a lot of different varieties, some would go well in a pots but you would have to check the label.

Ensure you get a variety that is “psyllid-free” (right). The psyllid won’t kill your Lilly Pilly hedge but up close it certainly won’t look very healthy. Watch also for wax scale (see image left) that can attack the branches of your plants. Again, they won’t ruin your plant but it doesn’t look too good and if left unchecked, is extremely hard to eradicate.

Note: Acmena species of Lilly Pillies are generally more Psyllid resistant than Syzygium species. Double check the label and with your local nursery staff.

    • Mine aren't 'psyllid-free'. Plants are healthy, but do then spraying from time to time to keep it in check

  • Any discount codes active?

    • I hope so. I assume if there was one someone would be on to it already

gold coast nursery (local) has 200mm pot lilly pilli a little cheaper. Closer than going to Masters.

    • Hi PVA, dissappointing to see you voted negative without giving a comparison price or any proof. It was hard to find many places advertising a price for Lilly Pillys but Bunnings have them for $15.65 so I'd say $10 is a good price.
If you also use the Masters store finder you will see that there are stores in Robina and Nerang which are very convenient if you live on the GC as well as Upper Coomera.

      • The Lilly Pillys are in bigger pots and are 5 cents cheaper. I know not a big diff in price but the plants are bigger in a 200mm pot.

Coomera is way too far far.
The new store that will open near Bundall will be my local Masters.

You may be able to see some previous comments of mine about BBQs at Masters and how positive I was (great BBQ at a great price, even think I got some sales go your way) I am not always neg to you.

        • That's good. Thanks for clearing that up. If the prices are that good at Plant Mart you should post deals for them. Thanks for your positive comments about the BBQ I thought that was a pretty amazing deal too. I don't think you always neg Masters I just thought this one was unfounded.

    • I just looked at where Plant Mart is and it is definitely not closer to the majority of the GC population. It's out past Mudgeeraba, do you even live on the GC??? ;-)

      • Yes I live on the Gold Coast, And I am at Mudgeeraba most weekends. ;-)

        • So you know that it's closer to go to Masters

        • @HunterOfBargains20:
no, Masters is out of the way for me, Bunnings is closer though. I am at Mudgeeraba on weekends, so all the nurseries out there are more convenient. (I usually go to the one at Merrimac but couldnt check online prices).

        • @PVA: oh ok that makes sense, its more convenient for you not closer.

The quality of the specimen in the pot is FAR more important than the size of the plant. In many if not most cases you are better off buying smaller specimens.

  • The $1 pots don't have drainage holes in them, better buy some drill bits while you are there

  • So they were supposed to have a load of murraya delivered Friday here in SA but I ring and nothing has turned up. So apparently they will turn up Tuesday afternoon. We will see. Why not just have plenty in stock in the first place for something so obviously popular?

Thanks Masters and op, got there in the end and picked up 30 Murraya's yesterday. All planted and looking good! Excellent price.
