  • How much for delivery?

    • $10.75 to NSW, or free pickup at Capitol Square in the city

  • $15.20 to Perth, good value.

$125 from MSY, so matches that includes delivery. Good price.

  • good price, i bought it half year ago for $169. just be minded, it's a little noisy for the hard driver to run…

Agreed. Cheap, but I don't need more drive space at the moment, so it can wait. ^^

  • I have noticed that it does not support 'eSATA'.

Didn't Shopping square have this the other day for $99?

  • I've seen this for $119 at Harris Technology before. $109 is great if you can pick up, otherwise it's just ok.

  • Last time this was up my HD got damaged by the courier and Online did SFA to help me get it fixed.

Avoid them if you can, their after sales is really really poor.

  • Good price, I have two of these, bought one for $199 and the other for $140. Still holding up well. At this price, makes me want to buy another one.

Alternatively, this is $99.95 plus shipping (around $9.95) at http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/p_6863_LaCie_1TB_Hard_Disk_…. For 24 hrs only.

This OnlineComputer deal has just been pawned.

EDIT: Bought one from SSq, thanks.

  • How loud is this one compared to the Western Digital Essentials range?

    • Hi Demarco, we never compare the loudness of WD essentials with Lacie 1TB HDD, but i believe the noise level is gonna be similar roughly.

PS: Promo will be available until stock last.

    • Lacie is louder than MyBook, I have two of each.

  • 2nd batch of Lacie 1TB has arrived, pick up or delivery available

  • These 1TB drives were $99 at MSY up until yesterday, but have gone back up to $125. That makes this a good deal, if you can organise pick-up.

Only notes i would give re-experience with drive:
    - Have owned 3 of these so far, all 1tb models. Previous drives inside were 2 x Hitachi & 1 Samsung. The Samsung one died after a few months, but the other two still run fine. The two remaining one's are both easily the loudest and hottest drives i have ever owned & along with the Sammy, seem to have issues turning on/off (Take ages to turn on and are loud with clicking noises & sometimes they just wont power down without having to be unplugged from the wall). Owners over at a few other IT forums seem to have similar experiences, across the board.

    Overall Pro's:
Cheap ($99 for an external 1tb is the best your gonna find, today), no hassles getting a replacement for the dead drive, some people find the design sexah!

    Con's:
Loud, iffy start up & turn off, no idea at first about what hard drive actually in the box, casing has poor airflow compared to Seasgate & WD enclosures.
