$68 for the Sony SRS-X2 bluetooth portable speaker (RRP $129). Not bad.

  • Can I take this apart to fit in ps4?

Here's the page that should help you.

  • Is there any way to pay in store? I want to use paywave to get 5% back

    • +9

Nope, however you can purchase a gift card with Paywave and then use it as a payment method online.

      • +1

That's a great idea, I wish I knew about this offer and that loophole before the shops closed, will definitely have to do that next time. Thanks for the great tip J2

No worries, glad I could help. Also if you live near Woolworths, you can head there and purchase a Wish gift card instead (edit: just make sure you grab one with the DSE logo). Woolworths Wish gift cards (physical ones, not Wish eGift Cards) also work as a gift card payment method at DSE.

        • @JSQUARED: Not any more. I just tried using one a few days ago, and it wouldn't accept it.

ON the other hand, Woolworths sell Dick Smith gift cards, so probably better buying one of those…

        • @JSQUARED:

Ok Wish cards, thanks. So when if I bought something in the future for $99 with a $100 wish card can I then use the remaining $1 in conjunction with cash or card for groceries ?

        • @moksha:

Not any more. I just tried using one a few days ago, and it wouldn't accept it.

Hmm that's weird, I just recently used one that I purchased last week (this design). Which design did you purchase?

Yep you can use the remaining $1 on the card in conjunction with another payment method for groceries.

          @JSQUARED: thanks again!

        • @moksha:

I just bought the above 2TB drive from DSE with a WISH gift card?

        • @JSQUARED: haha I dont have the skills to put a link in like you did!

its the blue one… the design is dark blue top and bottom and white through the middle.

good news that some still work, thanks for the tip

    • Buy gift cards then use on line.

  • Is this Toshiba 2TB hard Drive good?

    What speed is it 7200?

Anyone know if it's quite and goes into sleep mode without any flashing lights?

Wanting to get b for my imac

    • Not according to this.

      http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/289283-32-toshiba-canvio-g…

      I'll stick with WD.

      • pretty sure that is not even related to this model. and if you go looking for bad reviews on anything you'll find them..no shortage for WD threads with the same story.

I have two Toshiba 2TB Canvio basics and neither have missed a beat and the write speed is excellent FWIW.

        • The Basic and Simple are two different products for Toshiba external portable hard drives. I also have two 1tb Basics and they have been excellent.

        • @g12345567: yup i missed the basics vs simple difference, but the drive referred to in the post by syousef are completely different to these ones.

        • @poop:

          Thanks guys

So it says 5400 on specs on DSE site, sorry didn't aee before

Sous the Simple better then the Basic?

As I said I want to use it for my imac as a Time Machine Hard Drive even knowing my iMac hard drive is 3TB I only am using 700gb atm

        • @g12345567:

Here's the difference. One has the interface directly soldered to the drive. The other uses a standard SATA connector. Also slightly different software included.

      • 1-off review about a different drive ? meh

I've had a canvio 1GB for a couple of years, been super happy with it

    • Bought a 750GB Simple a month ago. Had a dodgy USB cable sometimes causing the drive to repeatedly disconnect/reconnect (Amazon reviews indicate it's a common problem with the bundled cable). Apart from that it's a standard, unremarkable portable drive with 'brushed plastic' case.

LED is off in sleep mode if I recall correctly. Neat little feature is the colour of the light differs depending on the type of USB connection in use (blue for USB 3.0, white for USB 2.0).

      • I'd say it's smaller than the average, considering it's 2TB that's a plus. As you say, it does go into sleep mode without the LED flashing. It is a noisier drive compared to others I've tried but for large size drives like this it's something I was prepared for.

        • Noiser when getting used?

How about sound when it's just on but nothing getting transferred?

          @Twisty:

          Standby is fine.

Here are the specifications for the Toshiba Canvio Simple 2tb portable hard drive.

Case is 21mm heigh and toshiba 2tb internal 2.5" drives are 15mm thick. So probably not suitable for removal and use use in gaming consoles.

  • So mobile and chromecast not excluded this time?

    • The chromecast is excluded

Prepaid Mobile Products, iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxies are all excluded. What are you referring to?

Anyone else having a problem checking out with paypal?

CoD Ghosts was $50 yesterday, $60 today. GTAV Preorder was $69, today $79. Same with all other items I looked at. Nothing to see here folks, such Dick.

Edit: Both not valid for coupon so just some dicked up pricing decisions

  • Great price for a portable 2TB! was just looking for one. Cheers mate
