This collection of apps has gone free on the Amazon US & UK stores for Valentine's weekend.

Note: AU links are NOT yet free. Historically, this should happen some time after the US/UK.

Update: AU links have been removed, as it now seems they won't be offered free in this region. You are still able to download from the US store by changing your address details on Amazon.

Enjoy :)

great work TA, great that you are working for us behind the scenes

    • +6

As stated in the post, this is for UK accounts. If you can't wait for the AU & US links to go free, I believe there's a work-around by changing your address in settings. Others may like to comment as to the exact procedure.

      • How long until it's free fo AU?

      • Will wait for Au version.
        big thanks :)

  • Be great if I could access my amazon account. Was locked due to 'unauthorised access' and customer support is useless.

    • any reason why this happen?

      • Not that I'm aware of. Very strange. Annoying though as I've got 2000 amazon coins (close to expiring now) and a heap of apps linked to that account. Support keep saying an account specialist will contact you in 24-48 hours though they never do (I've contacted support 8 times now).

        • How does one find the expiry of the amazon coins

        • @SlipKnot: can't quite remember (and i can't really check) - though i recall them being 1 year from redemption (if they we're part of a promotion). If you actually fully paid for them i would assume they would be forever.

    Geographic Restrictions??

      ditto

You can all down vote all you want, go look at revision 1 and 2 of this post which were prior to the original comment (xylon224) and within 2 minutes of mine, in which I didn't have his talk about 'soon to be AU' nor any of the links available.

Revision 3 was posted 2minutes after my comment in which I hadn't seen it and the original by xylon224 was before revision 3.

  • Anything good?

NB: "Cut the Rope" is actually "Cut the Rope: Experiments" and appears to be free for .au at the moment.

    • Thanks. Post updated.

    • It's the amazon app of the day I believe.

      • Is that the app du jour? I'll have that.

    • +1

There's already a seperate post for it: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/182623

      • Yep, that was the Free App of The Day.

        • But its the same item being offered by the same supplier, regardless of how the offer is labelled.

        • @Trishool:
True, but I believe I posted that before TA posted this.

    • Monstsers Ate MY Condo is great fun.

  • Any idea when they become free for us…AU?

  • Stellarium Mobile Sky Map still showing with a cost on au and US atm

Guessing because they aint free here yet. Will just have to be patient and wait

+1 for the effort of the post, but no apps to my interest (some I already have from similar previous deals, and the rest on the list are one's that I dont care about).

  • +2

+1 for the effort & time putting into the post. Thanks TA

  • Waiting…

US Links are now free FYI. Maybe it's not coming for AU? I'd grab them on US if you don't want to risk missing out.

    • Cheers hamza. Great work.

    • how do you change your location?

      • +2

I haven't done it myself sorry, I've always had a US account and barely use it anyway.

I believe you go to: your account menu > manage your content & devices > settings then I'm thinking country settings?

      • This worked for me: Visit www.amazon.com > your account > settings > manage address book > edit address > and just change to a US address (I used a re-shipping address in California incase I accidentally send something there in the future)

  • +1

Nice team effort, TA and Hamza!

  • Anyone can suggest any useful APP in the list (not games as I dont game on my phone) besides the dictionary and the OfficeSuite?

    • +3

same boat heres what I got.

      Guitar Pro
      Shazam Encore,
      OfficeSuite Professional 8
      Meteo Earth
      Pocket Yoga
      Scientific Calc
      Runtastic Pro
      Sleep as Android Unlock
      Smooth sync cloud calendar
      Stellarium Mobile Sky Map
      Sworkit Pro
      Travel Interpreter

Although I wont use all of these but they seem worth buying.

      big thanks to TA again.

    • definitely get the Sleep as Android unlock while it's free. amazing app, have been using the trial version and was definitely going to pay but now it's free. and the upgrade is apparently compatible with the Google play store version.

    shazam encore free. nice!

    • +1

pressed Install, saw the humongous list of permissions that I have to give it, went to read Google Play reviews and the sentiment is the same.

      • +2

Wait until you see all the permissions the Amazon App needs. TANSTAAFL

that's why xPrivacy comes in handy.
just block certain restricted parameters where you don't want them to have access

        • +1

Wow, that is a truly terrible acronym.

        • @IsTops:
Just had a quick look at xPrivacy on play, do you need a rooted device to use? or just to use it at its fullest?

Thanks for the tip, will look into it more, but any advice or tips on this or similar apps or free?

        • +1

@OrbDaggerZ: hey, so to answer you directly… you do require a rooted device. What you'll find during your research is that a root device gives you that much more flexibility at controlling what gets filtered and what you let through.
Whereas a non rooted devices, it's less flexible 'to that degree' of control. So alot of the apps you find without root is more limited, so to say.

I'll introduce you to this one:
          https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode…

might come in handy for you. [edit] oh sorry, just realised that requires root as well [/edit]

        • @IsTops:
          Thanks for the info/comment.
As I have just got a new phone (Sammy Alpha) from TGG, I dont think I will root it just yet, I might also sell it if I find it's claim of weak cell reception holds true on my phone.

Also, since its claim to be a short lived model, I dont think there will be much support for it with custom ROM's.

League of Heroes Premium US is not free at present.

I really appreciate the effort you put into these posts, TA. Makes it real easy to script purchase of them all ;)

  • League of Heroes Premium does not show as Free.

  • US are all free now !

  • Looks like they've added more into the US list

Thanks for the head's up, TA!

    AU not free

    • +2

As mentioned in the post. In bold font.

  • Damn awesome post, thanks TA

    I needed Sorcery! 2

  • Still not free for AU :-(

  • FYI Doodle Jump is free today in the AU store.

Alright, thanks for the convenient formatting, TA!
My experience: I was waiting for the Aus links but since that wasn't happening I changed my address on my existing second Amazon account to a US package rerouting service (incase I send something there by mistake). Logged into the now US amazon account in the app but couldn't see the deals but was able to 'buy' them on the website with oneclick. Back on the app the apps didn't show up right away but after a few minutes got a 'Country Changed' notification: http://i.imgur.com/tbpZeWF.png and all the free apps showed up under cloud in my apps. Thanks again

ps: Changing address instructions: Visit www.amazon.com > your account > settings > manage address book > edit address > and just change to a US address (I used a business address in California)

    • Tried this but it doesn't seem to be working for me.

      • I changed from Amazon.com rather than .com.au if that helps

  • +1

It worked for me. My account is with amazon.com, even though address stored in Amazon is my australia address, I could get these apps for free. Looks like whoever having their account created in amazon.com are eligible for this offer.

    • Same for me, no need to change to a US address.

      • Yep, didn't have to change any details either.

  • +5

Here is a link to the US store with all the apps in page:
    http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=nav_sap_mas_15_02_12_Feb1_Bundle…

  • Ahhh changed address and everything but it still wants to charge me for the apps. :(
