Qantas Aquire 5,000 Points + Free Membership + No Annual Fee - ABN Required

800

Finally a deal worth posting from Qantas Aquire.

They've ditched the joinup fee and the annual fee and kept the 5,000 joinup bonus.
They're basically like QFF points but they're attached to a business. And they convert to QFF points at a rate of 1:1 into any QFF account.

got a few ABNs? go nuts!

note on the conversion into a personal QFF account, there is a catch. However you can still use the aquire points, just like QFF points, it's not necessary to convert them into QFF before using:

6.3 No Aquire Points earned under the Airline Reward Scheme will be convertible to Qantas Points by a Member until at least:
Two of the Member's Aquire Flyers have each travelled on one or more Eligible Flights; and
20,000 Pending Airline Aquire Points have accumulated in the Membership Account
in each case within the applicable Membership Year (refer to clause 7).

Can you link one QFF membership with multiple Aquire accounts?

    • +1

I believe there is no link. you just move the points to any QFF account you want

      • during sign up process, you need to enter your QFF membership number and get it validated
however, i can confirm i did not run into any problem linking all 3 of my pty ltd entities' ABN to the same QFF #

Aquire Points can be converted to Qantas Points at a rate of 1:1 into any Qantas Frequent Flyer account

    • +1

Most of our clients earn most of their ff points through credit cards not actual flying.

  • How long does it take to receive the 5,000 aquire points?

    • +3

7 Any business that joins via the 'Join Aquire' link on this page before 11.59pm, 28 February 2015 will receive complimentary membership and 5,000 bonus Aquire Points. Bonus Aquire Points will be credited to a Member's Aquire account within 8 weeks of joining. Aquire membership and Aquire Points are subject to the Aquire Terms and Conditions available at www.aquire.com.au.

      • Thank you, hadn't spotted when it would apply!

  • Omg i paid $50

    • +13

Same here, except I got 20,000 points for my cash. I stand by my choice.

    • +3

I would think you would be doing fraud by doing that.

        • no you don't need to accrue any points before using the free 5,000.

That minimum accrual only applies if you want to move them to a QFF account. but you don't need to do that to use them. they are perfectly usable as regular Aquire points.

          Meh no deal.

        • +7

@Gavman: Given you don't have an ABN, I'd say you are correct. This is not a deal for you. Hence why that's in the title, right at the top.

        • +6

          @Gavman:
"meh this bargain doesn't apply to me but even though it can be a bargain for many other users here I'll still neg it like a spoiled little brat simply because I personally don't benefit from it."

          The Gavman logic.

I am not a lawyer but I think that's called fraud.

    From https://www.aquire.com.au/terms#airlineterms:

6.1 Subject to the exclusions, limitations and other conditions specified in this clause 6 and the Airline Earn Table, Members earn Aquire Points at the applicable rate specified in the Airline Earn Table, or in any special offer, for air travel booked and paid for by the Member and travelled by their Aquire Flyers for the Member's business related purposes. No Aquire Points will be earned if the travel to which the booking relates is not undertaken.

6.2 Members are not entitled to claim Aquire Points under the Airline Reward Scheme for:

    leisure or holiday travel;
travel by family members or other travel companions of Aquire Flyers; or
other travel that does not have a business purpose relating to trade or commerce or the supply of goods or services. (For example, trusts that do not have a business purpose relating to trade or commerce or the supply of goods or services are not eligible to claim Aquire Points.)

    • Doesn't surprise me. I don't trust Qantas. Used to be a big flyer of theirs but I find the service and offering to be far inferior to Virgin now.

      • -2

inferior? qantas dont loose your suitcases bud.
        just sayin…

        • Lost mine a few weeks ago after a transfer even though I specifically gave my baggage into at the gate to make sure it would come across.

Virgin > Qantas any day now.

        • +4

Yeh they do! They lost mine with my work tools… They would have been spewing when they had to pay the courier to deliver them 150km from Port Headland Airport :)

        • +1

Lost one of my relative's cases when she was coming to visit. Very unhelpful with compensation too :S

    • +1

So you can't redeem the 5,000 points /turn them into QFF until you get 20,000? Bummer…

    • 6.1 basically says, if you book but don't travel. you don't get points. same as QFF

6.2 they aren't following you around after you get to your destination to make sure your travel is only business and you aren't having fun. probably in there to cover them with the tax man. Good pickup about the trusts though, but this is conflicting with their claim of "all you need is an ABN to get started 7"

6.3 good pickup. I'll add. Note that you don't need to convert them into a QFF account to use them. you can still use the aquire points for upgrades etc

  • I just signed up. I linked it with my Qantas freq flyer number. Was that a mistake?

I don't see the 5,000 points. Am I not looking in the right place?

    • +1

points are credited later. within 8weeks

      • +1

        cheers-

  • What's 5000 QFF points worth in real money? (ie, what dollar value of goods or services can you exchange it for?)

    • $50 roughly, going by the recent 46% off sale at their store. Otherwise it will be like $20.

  • oh crap. i just paid $50 last week for their 5000 points after getting fooled by their stupid marketing campain.

Still dont have the points in my account yet. They said it'll take 8 weeks.

This is a good deal just for the membership

  • -5

Joined, no bonus points yet, waiting … :-( !!

  • wonder if it's worth register an ABN just for this? nothing illegal here right?

  • I joined with the same promotion in December. No points showing up in my account yet.

Just a tip, in the website, when you click on convert points, it says you need a minimum of 3,000 to convert to Qantas points. Maybe then you don't need 20,000 points to convert them?

    • I think you are right. I can convert 3000 points at a time from my aquire account into QFF at any time. But I do know they have a minimum redemption when you start collecting points from flying Qantas. I had no problem converting my reward points when I signed up in November when they had the $50 for 20,000 points with a purchase from Staples.

    • Yeah, right on the 8 weeks since that December deal and still no points showing in my Aquire account…

      • I was on the phone/email to aquire and staples so many times to get those points! They came through in the end but we're a lot of work!

  • Thanks joined

  • I just tried to join and they are trying to get me to pay $89 by credit card:

    MEMBERSHIP FEE & PAYMENT

    Aquire join fee $89.50

    Annual membership fee $179.00

    Annual membership fee waiver -$179.00

    TOTAL $89.50

You will be directed to a payment gateway. Once payment is complete, you will be redirected back to the Aquire website.

    • you need to click on the join link on the deal page.

if you go there from aquire.com.au or any other place you wont get the free joinup or 5,000 points

    • I get the same thing & I used the link in Qantas' email which stated NO JOINING FEE.

  • What else can you use aquire points for besides converting to FF points? Gift cards or anything like that?

  • I paid the $50 joining fee on the day the Aquire 20000 point special was posted here, and made a purchase at Staples, to qualify for the next 10000 points. To date I've yet to receive the second 10000 points, and no response to two emails to Acquire. There is a brick wall for communication with them. Very poor value at this stage.

  • signed up, thanks

though had to use a different email from last time I signed up.

  • Thnx

  • it asked for $89.5 aquire join fee but waived $179 annual fee at finalise page, does anyone have the same issue?

  • Has anyone received their points yet?

  • I've not received yet.

    • +1

      Me neither.

  • +1

still no points, just got the points balance email to remind me.

  • Same here. Long wait but apparently up to 8 weeks.

  • +2

    received my 5,000 points.

  • Still waiting!!!!!!!!
