Havaianas Thongs Big W Calamvale QLD $3.75 a Pair

530

Was browsing around Big W, found these. Marked down to $5 a Pair. Big W seemed to have a 25% off the marked price of summer footwear promotion, so they scanned in at $3.75 a Pair. Normal price is $15 a pair

I don't think it applies to whole havianas range though, only seems to be the plain one which features green/yellow striped layers in the sole. Available in 3 colors-black, gray, and navy blue.

Found this in big W Calamvale Brisbane. Could not find any sizes over 7/8 luckily I am a size 7/8 thong so I bought 5 pairs.

Not sure if this deal is across all big W shops or not

    • Bargain? More like what they're actually worth.

I didn't even know they sell Havaianas

I bought these from BigW last time they where discounted, same build quality as the usual Havaianas, soft, thin yet strong

      soft, thin yet strong…

      ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Finally a sensible price for overpriced thongs!

  • A copy of the receipt would be great as well please.

    • For proof????

Yeah. All Big W store should price match. A receipt would make that easier.

        • I have a receipt yes. Not sure how to add it to the post tho. Sorry first post for me.

        • @Overtime2000:

Add a photo of the receipt the same way you added a photo of the thongs to OzB. Then just post the direct link to the receipt photo. You can edit the original post.

        • How easy is their price match policy? That price is crazy!

        • @Azn310:

I've had success price matching an Xbox 360 controller against CPL's $28. A little hassle but once it was confirmed they had a retail front it was done.

          @sween64:

Policy has changed. They'll only price match against these "competitors".

        • @sween64: but will they match against themselves? Lol

        • @Azn310:

They should. I'm hoping they'll price match against themselves for these thongs and the Fancy Feast cat food.

    • And stinky?

    Ready for Valentine's day

  • Can someone confirm this is all states?

    • From comments below it seems like it.

  • Cant go wrong with more Havaianas. They're the most comfortable thongs out there. At that price, it's definitely a bargain!

    • As long they don't leave my feet red with peeling skin at the end of the day then I'm happy.

  • Since I bought 5 pairs, - anyone know whats a good way to store the new ones? It seems with rubber thongs the sole gets a bit firmer/less grippy with time. Best just to box them and put them away?

    • looking forward to the replies

      A cool dark cupboard.

    • Hm.. As an automotive freak, i use silicone spray to coat all rubber parts to keep water out and prolong rubber life. Not sure if if that applies in this case.

Another way is use all of them on a rotating basis, like one pair a month. Because yes, if you dont use rubber for a long time, they will harden up and deteriorate.

Another way is to sell to other ozbargain fellows in need, at $7 a pair. Win-win situation :P

      • Like WD-40? Or something else?

Airtight box in a cool, dark cupboard will slowdown the rubber degradation but it probably not worth the cost to save a $3.75 thongs.

      • Feels stupid having 5 pairs now. Will take me years to get through them, I dont even have the opportunity to wear thongs much. Maybe I'll take them jogging so I get my money's worth.

meh, whatever. They're $3.75 each. Think I'll give some to family members.

You should keep a pair in the car, just incase you need some sort of footwear for emergencies I reckon.

I store my havaianas in those clear plastic shoe storage boxes. One regular size version fits 4 pairs packed in firmly. No degradation of any of the rubber and some of my earlier discontinued pairs are probably 8 years old.

Example (first box pulled from the cupboard, boring ones):

Just grabbed the last of the 7/8's (5 pairs)

    Thanks OP!!

I have a feeling that they have the discount calculation the wrong way? 25% off $15 = $3.75 savings - but these are reversed.

    • $5 a pair + 30% off the lowest price = $3.75

staffs in Melbourne CBD store don't even know if they sell Havaianas thong or not. There are about 10 blue one left in Sunshine store size 8-10.

    • Popped in on my way through Sunshine earlier. There was one pair labelled 10 but was actually a 12. A perfect fit. Cheers.
