[QLD] Switch Your CTP Insurance to QBE and Get up to $50 Back on an EFTPOS Card

190

edit:
It seems Mastablasta has bettered my deal.
See his links in the comments below.
I couldn't find this offer when I posted my deal.
Perhaps it just started.. dunno.

Regarding this deal:

*Gift card only available to new QBE CTP customers for their first year.
It is not available to existing customers.

*(edited in due to below comments) Complete the switching form found at the link.. nominating QBE as your CTP insurer. When you next renew your registration for twelve (12) months you will receive the gift card.

*must be 30+ years of age.

*Giftcard is an XS Westfield EFTPOS gift card. It can be used widely but has some retailer limitations.

  • Damn - renewed my Rego just 2 days ago (for 12 months).

    Damn Damn

It says as long as its due in the next 12 months. I renewed 2 of my cars a week ago and when I put the renewal dates in for early feb next year I still qualified for a $35 voucher on each, obviously once I switch and they contact me next february

      • Thanks - but mine is due March 2016.
I might come back next month to check if this offer is still active.

Japius, that's great, but you didn't think to share the deal? :P
If you had, may have made Bappy happy.

        • LOL - now you made me happy stitchy
Thanks again and keep up the good work

        • +1

Huh? No I didn't know about this until I saw it on ozbargain, I was just saying even though I had jsut renewed because its due again within a year I still qualify I just can't get the voucher until then

        • @Japius:
ahh I see, was confused, sorry.

      • you have to wait 1 year for the voucher!

        • I spoke with qbe, gift card comes within 30 days after your rego renewal date.
So yeah Japius will have to wait a year, plus up to 30 more days.

Bappy, I believe you still may be eligible for the gift card?
I mean, you can switch CTP at any time I believe?
(not just the end of your 12 months)

      • Unfortunately not - I just called TMR and they said it cannot be done

  • Keep in mind other CTP providers may have similar offers, so still have a look around. When I was renewing rego in the ACT last year, I believe three of the four providers had a similar promotion. After a quick look just now, AAMI still has it running at least.

Unfortunately I was too young to qualify for the discount.

    • I believe this is the only offer currently in QLD.. although suncorp have a free fuel for a year competition.

  • AAMI give $100 off for the first year. Usually cheaper anyway I've found.

    • not for QLD CTP though, which is what this deal refers to.

CTP is the same cost for all motorists. (In QLD atleast)

        No it's not. From http://www.maic.qld.gov.au/ctp-premium/index.shtml:

Licensed CTP insurers may offer different premiums for CTP insurance. Insurers are required to determine their premium rates every quarter within an upper and lower limit set by the Motor Accident Insurance Commission. Therefore, the premium you pay will depend on your choice of insurer and the particular premium period within which your vehicle registration renewal falls due.

You can check the rates for your situation at http://www.maic.qld.gov.au/ctp-premium/ctp-calculator/ctp-ca…

Also, price may not be the only factor you want to consider in choosing your CTP insurer, as per http://quop.blogspot.com.au/2008/05/going-beyond-ctp-part-2.… (the information is a bit old, but the principle remains the same).

        • hmm interestingly yes Allianz offers $2 cheaper for my ctp over 12 months.

I assume the upper/lower limits set are very narrow (or the providers don't use the 'upper' band).

for example, suncorp say on their website they can't offer the 15% policy combo discount on CTP in QLD for legislative reasons.

I am sure no one could offer $100 off qld CTP.
I am surprised these gift card deals are still allowed actually.

    • Edit: My bad… didn't read it properly.

  • Dosent seem to mention one per customer

  • Just signed up. I change my CTP every year just to take advantage of various offers.

  • "Unfortunately you don’t qualify for any additional rewards." Wot?

    QLD: Check
    30+: check

    • hmm. err.. try different browser.. or call them on 1800 112 472.. they can suss it for you

  • I'm in NSW, but down here I've found QBE to be up to $100 more expensive.

If you're not with Suncorp, they also have some CTP offers:

Both have some slightly different additional conditions.

    • good find, I edited my post.
Let me know if you post this separately, and I'll direct people to your deal, as I think it's superior.

I believe you get a $25 gift card if you're in the south-east of the state - and $50 elsewhere.

  • Any deal for NSW?

  • Anyone tried this? Have you got the gift card and how long did it take?

I have switched using this deal more than 30 days ago and received nothing. Wondering whether i should start calling them for it.
