  • I'd still say the 9020 deal is better unless you want to pay $290 for a touch screen, win 7 pro and keyboard.
Compared to the i7 9030 CPU and GPU is more or less the same. It's also cheaper and easier to add an HDD than to add a SSD since you don't have to re-install the OS.
    Can't imagine using a PC on a 5400RPM drive.

    • Yeah. Bit of a shame the 9030's all come with a 5400RPM drive. For the average user it's probably easier to just buy the unit with the SSD preinstalled.

However note that the 9030's all seem to come with a stand, which in itself is probably a $50~60 item that you would need to mount the unit anyway. So it could be less of a hassle since you don't need to go out to buy a stand.

      • Dell sells the stand for $180. After a bit of haggling, he gave it to me for the "lowest possible price" of $136.

  • As of Monday morning, there are:
    - 77 left of the 9030 i5 $999 models (was 86)
    - 31 left of the 9030 i7 $1,179 models (was 72)

  • Thanks for the tip off about this deal.

I was considering the 9020 due to the SSD, but it seems I would need to buy WiFi, upgrade to Win7pro, and buy a stand as well, so not so cheap in the end.

The difference between the other 2 AIO's is the i5 vs i7, plus the i7 AIO has its own 2GB graphics card AMD Radeon R7 A265, though it seems it has mixed reviews. Touchscreen I couldn't care either way for.

I am undecided. It will be used for work where I run a note taking program from a server, and surf the net in my breaks. That is about all.

Any advice or info on the components would be welcome.

    Cheers.

  • Anyone considering the i5 model, should note that there is another listing for a 9030 i5 which includes Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit License and Media (in addition to Windows 7 Pro) and is also $100 cheaper at $899 (see specs below).
Ask the Dell rep to at least match the same price $899, or even to beat it if buying multiple 9030s for a small business.
