piece of shit discs not even worth it for free.

    Verbatims and Taiyo Yuden only.

They're the bog-standard CMC discs (CMC MAG M01). In my opinion they're probably the best of the "everything other than Mitsubishi/Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden" class and I haven't seen a good deal on Verbatims in a while.

Calling them "piece of shit discs" seems silly to me, given how cheap they are, that they're in jewel cases, and how they're not really bad discs, certainly not compared to some of the crap out there like Riteks with holes in the recording layer.

    • The fact that these are being sold by Harris Tech should also give you some confidence. I'm pretty sure that a lot of the business Harris Tech gets, is through contracts with many big corporate clients, and they wouldn't want to compromise those contracts by selling unreliable or shoddy products.

    Shintaro
Wasn't he the dude who could jump backwards really high into the air (onto roof beams and tree branches) and throw those star-knives really, really fast???

      • lol some prime remakes there :)

  • With jewel case…..cheap if you can pick them up.

  • i reckon its quite decent?

  • i got 3, pickin them up later today, see how we go but i think this is a good deal!

  • most of the time i use TDK or LG blank dvd, rarely use shintaro brand.
each with jewel case? or 10pcs in 1 spindle??

All the LG discs I've seen are made by CMC Magnetics, same as these. They are the same discs with a different label.

TDK, from a quick web search, these days they use a mix of different manufacturers including CMC.

The Shintaro discs are in jewel cases.

    10 x 10 = 100 = $20

I trust LG/Ritek more than Shintaro!
    100 LG/Ritek 16x DVD-R is only $26, so not much of a bargain here
unless you want the jewel cases, or people who required only 10-20 disc
(then again, it's not much of a bargain/saving only few cents for 10-20 disc)

won't give negative, as Jewel cases come in FREE!! (if u need it) :P

  • After hearing that these are Princo quality, I'm just going to stick with Ritek, after all with shipping im just saving 2 cents per disc if I purchase 25 (250 discs). Only worth it if you actually need those jewel cases.

    • +1

If these are considered Princo quality, then so are TDK, LG etc since they use the same CMC Magnetics discs. (TDK pretty much only supplies CMC discs these days)

In my experience Ritek isn't much better (and their 8x/4x discs should be avoided at all costs due to degradation susceptibility - their 16x discs use different dye).

I picked up the last two of these that were on the shelf at harris in the valley in brisbane. Bloody bargain even if u just want the cases, full size cases for 20c a piece. I will use the discs though, got a lot of tv shows to organise, so i can free up some dvd-rw discs. thanks heaps. they had the price as 299 on the shelf but scanned as two dollars.
