You had me at 1970 Dodge Charger.

      • +1

        You had me at 'FREE'.

    • +1

They really should have included that ridiculous Hulk car from Tokyo Drift.

  • This is great news!

  • +3

Only if it included that iconic Mitsubishi Eclipse!

For those that don't have it:
XBOne: $54.99 delivered at OzGameShop or $59 pickup at JB Hifi.
X360 - $58.23 delivered at Play Asia or $59.99 delivered at OzGameShop

Funny that the XBOne version is cheaper!

It's a standalone expansion, you don't even need the base game for it.

      • Ah yes just saw that, admittedly last line of the post!

Players do not need to have purchased or played Forza Horizon 2 in order to download and enjoy the open-world adventure.

To celebrate the launch of Furious 7, this standalone expansion…

From the sounds of things in the press release, it's a portion of the Forza Horizon 2 map with FF7 themed cars and challenges. Pretty genius promotion, probably didn't cost them a colossal amount of money to put together.

Now to wait for a deal on Corona. Please change the title to 2 Forza 2 Furious.

  • +1

You don't need to buy Forza Horizon 2 to play this, but if you're a car nut with an Xbox One who doesn't already have it then you're missing out on the best game on the system (and my game of the year for 2014)…

Couldn't agree more, it's just so damn GOOD!

I have sunk more hours into Forza Horizon than anything in the last decade. Even the original on 360 holds up great, but 2 on Xbox One is an incredible experience - the presentation is second to none.

    • +1

Hehe, I liked that review :)

So is this actually free, or do you need to be paying for Xbox live to get access to this?

    • Can confirm that you don't need Xbox Live Gold… or even an Xbox (to redeem it for later), just a Microsoft account.

  • OP can you put Xbox in the title please.

    • +3

Why? Forza is only on Xbox

      • +1

I wasnt aware of that, I thought it was multi-platform

  • +1

Was hoping for Han's RX7 or the Corvette Grand Sport from Fast 5 but cant complain if its free

  • +1

where's the iconic AE86? that tofu shop car from tokyo drift.

  • Is this going to be highlighted on 27 March? My memory isn't great.

    • +2

      Yeah I'm sure they will

      • You were right :P

        • Yeah should be highlighted in a few hrs :)

  • I'm still not quite getting it. I have a 360 but no Forza at all. Am I able to dl this (and Forza, which seems to be a pre-requisite) and play for free and keep forever?

    • This is a complete stand-alone game. You need NOTHING but a 360 and I presume xbox live gold (although unsure on that one). Will work completely by itself, without ever owning a Forza game now or in the past :)

Think of it as "based on" Forza 2 rather than an expansion.

Here's a direct link for the 360 version

  • looks like MS is gettting hammered to hell now

  • +2

Here are the store links, it's live now

    XBOX 1 - https://store.xbox.com/en-AU/Xbox-One/Bundle/Forza-Horizon-2…

    XBOX 360 - http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-AU/Product/Forza-Horizon-2-Pr…

You can redeem the XBOX1 version even if you don't own an XBOX1 so it's great to grab it now in case you decide to get one in future.

    • So does the xb1 version change to free for xb users? I cant see because I don't own one :)

      • I think Agret means you can purchase the XB1 version via the webstore (which he linked to) now, in case you get a XB1 in the future.

EDIT: When I try to purchase the XB1 version I get an error (The 360 version worked fine and is downloading now).

        • Yeah there is talk online about people waiting for the xb1 to go live, I read one guy say he click A On the bundle only bit and it took him to free version but others are still waiting

        • @TRENT86: I "bought" the 360 version then got the "bundle" for XB1. I've never signed in on my profile using an XBOX1 before and i'm not currently a gold member either so I dunno, might just have to wait?

        • @Agret: Guy below said he signed in and it showed $0 So who knows

    • Champ, couldn't get it on Xbox.com, didn't want to turn on the One for it yet.

  • Can confirm was able to 'purchase' it for Xbone on my computer.

  • +1

Yep, changes to free for xbox one once you sign into the website.

    • Thanks heaps Buddy for that :)

15GB download for the X1 version compared to 2.2GB for the 360 version. Lucky Telstra upped my data usage.

  • I always think Ludacris is going to break into rap. This game is worth the download for the achievements and the cars, it's anticipated me for Furious 7 as well.

  • I think everybody in the entire world is downloading this currently. So slow!

Can't wait to play though. :)

  • yep have both on my 360 and xbox one

also races are quite different on each so you effectively get TWO games for free and two sets of gamer scores/achievements and quite easy ones at that

  • what no rx7!! come on!!

how this download likely to effect my modded (ozmodchip fix) 360? - likely to brick my machine or anything stupid?

haven't switched it on for 12 months but will pull it out of its deep sleep for FF7 and free stuff!

  • just logged into my xbox account via web and purchased the game from work, also I do not have Xbox Gold either…
