why is pepsi so often <50cents a can yet coke is rarely sub 50cents?
Coke sees itself as a premium brand and charges more. They probably don't want to compromise the perceived value with many of their products.
The standard price of Coke is always higher than the standard price of Pepsi.
I guess Coke feel that they're the dominant soft drink in the market and can therefore charge a higher price.Coke is Holden.
Pepsi is Ford.Even the colours match up. You only need to lower prices when the buyer is discerning, even if only marginally so.

Coke is the Apollo Creed, Pepsi is Rocky, and the challenger has to price themselves slightly cheaper to build market share, like others said above. I'm not really adding to this conversation, just trying to steal a few positive votes with a cheap Rocky analogy
