  • Nice one Trent!

Z240s would look nice without the Logitech logo

    • Yeah, seems quite an intrusive looking logo, but its raised on what appears to be a plate so perhaps could be lifted at one corner and removed depending on what glue was used.

  • For Instore pickup, im only getting Newcastle? Im in Brisbane, bit far for some speakers :P

    • Get it delivered, still great deal even with delivery since you get $5 off :)

    • Still?

      Fortitude valley seems to stock.

  • Harvey norman website down?

    Edit: working now.

Must of been bought by Coles, because it's down, down and staying down!

  • Just destroyed my last Z240 set out of anger (long story).

    THANKS OP!

      what are they like?
      much bass?

      • also interested in the quality (unable to find any reviews)

Bloody great for the price, definately no real bass. Pretty even all the way through from high's to low's. Nothing to write home about but still bloody good. A nice warm sound due to the wood. I'm buying another.

In regards to the anger issue, just waiting out the two months before going into hospital for it.

        • +1

Awesome, cheers. Can't really go wrong for the price haha.

        • @beaver2233:

Play anything and everything through them, for some reason they seemed to 'bed in' after about three hours of use. Started sounding better and better.

Don't smash the speakers in the hospital if you happen to see one ;)

    • Long story, it's PTSD from various triggers. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry… seriously. Plenty of training here on take-downs etc. I'm just waiting for the health insurance to kick in.

Mate, wish you all the best.

Yeah they love us now lol. We online buyers helped big time in his latest profit result which went through the roof

      • +2

We helped but it only happened because he decided to have more sales rather than whinge about internet shopping.

          Yep exactly :)

    interesting design on those speakers

its a single 2.75" driver, no tweeter, also no easily available specs like frequency range…

    • Yea… Not enough information about the actual speakers to tempt me to buy them. They look nice though :P

    • Yeah not much specs website says 2.75-inch, "full-range drivers"

  • There is a review on Youtube:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4byRClaFig

    But it is in Russian…

    Any Russian speakers here?

  • Can it be use as normal speaker with amp?

    • Would really be too much work for not a very good speaker.

      • OK, so this speaker is not using standard speaker cable I assume.

        • The speaker is powered, uses 3.5mm headphone input.

  • Hmm.. thinking about getting some desktop speakers again (last pair were awful quality so I just ditched them). The problem is I want some bass but don't want a massive sub on my desk hmm… Don't think the Z240 will be suffice though..

    • What about the Z443? you can always put the sub under the desk
Here are full specs on Z443
      http://www.logitech.com/en-au/product/multimedia-speakers-z4…

      • Well… I wouldn't want it on the left (where the power source is) too much there already and if I were to put in on the right I'd need 2m cable at least and the site says nothing about cable length…

Such is the dilemma with getting the right sound system.

The price for nice bass is pretty much a decent sub and the space in the relevant areas for the sub and the cables that run everywhere.

I personally couldn't stand all the extra cables and have sufficed with a pair of Logitech z130 speakers. I also don't like having the volume controls on the sub which reduces my options that little bit more.

But I do have a nice pair of Sennheiser headphones for the times I want to crank the volume up, along with the bass… and it doesn't disturb anyone else.

  • Why would you put a volume control on the woofer?

    • Yeah this would be great with a remote.

  • Ordered in the morning, delivered in the afternoon (greater SYD), speakers are "okay, 5/10", a little dull, plasticky, disorientated, muffled.

    • Which model?

      • +1

        Ooops, sorry, the Z240.

        • They are definately worth the $28 though.

I ended up popping for a Z130 set for myself and gave the Z240 to the mother.

        • @kronicmacstigator:

Which do you think is better, the Z130 or the Z240?

        • +1

          @lolbbq:

          Z130=$24 (cheapest)
          Z240=$28

If you don't mind a slightly bigger/wooden speaker, the Z240 is the better speaker by far. But keep in mind the Z240 is only a stretched fabric, where as the Z130 has metal cage protection. The Z130 is the better kid friendly choice. But the Z240 romps it home in sound quality. But if you have the coin, the Z623 for $100 is incredible when it pops up.

        • +1

@kronicmacstigator: Actually z240 is $23 once you use sign up :)

        • @TRENT86:

I tried that but somehow they've blocked me in the system, I never get sent the $5 voucher any more :(

        • @kronicmacstigator: I'm guessing you made some fake accounts? I've got like 15 emails that I use :)

  • Received my z240s today, seems great for the price and will be great for watching tv shows on my laptop etc. The bass is pretty rubbish as expected. If I were to upgrade id go for the Creative T20s probably. Heard great things about them (around in $80-90).
