Do soft drinks in cans actually go off so close to expiry?
Sorry I meant to say "best before" instead of "expiry".
Apparently non-"diet" soft drink cans are safe for several months after the best before date.
Used by dates are just a matter of interpretation anyway, all I see is discounts
I am a Pepsi Max Expert (addict) and I can almost tell the expiry (best before) date by the taste of the drink. When the date has been passed, the drink is less sweet
I haven't noticed this variability in "normal" (sugared) soft drinks
That's because generally speaking artificial sweeteners, are nowhere near as stable (Sucralose excepted) a molecule as sugar.
best before date is more in reference to when it goes flat.
