Officeworks Online Clearance Sale Including Jackson 6 Outlet Concealed Powerboard for $8.36

160

Just stumbled across this on the Officeworks site.
I remeber the old site had some great clearances and it looks like their can be some great bargains.

Was checking out the batteries and had a few packs of the Everready rechargables and a few Varta 15 Min R2U 4 Cell Charger +12V but they went out of stock before I could grab them.

Be careful as I was going to purchase some Officeworks A4 80gsm Coloured Paper, Red Rm/500 for $0.75 and they kindly "upgraded" me to the Optix A4 Coloured Paper - Raza Red Pk/500 @ $23.46 per pack.

Anyway, I managed to snag a few Jackson 6 Outlet Concealed Powerboard for $8.36 each

  • does anyone know if this has individual switches?

  • Lot of good deals there (or were previously; saw the page before) — only problem is if you're like me and in a place like Townsville. Postage + handling is a killer on all the deals for me. Not so bad if you're in anywhere close to a metro area.

Haven't tried getting the OW in town to price match with online yet since I'm yet to find they have something I'd like that's on the clearance.

    • If you have a local OfficeWorks store you can get your item(s) delivered to your closest store for a handling fee, which is a lot cheaper than postage. Then you just wait for them to call you and you go in and pick it up.

      • how do you do that? there're no other options in the Checkout…

most of the items are sold out (NSW)

  • Shipping is $10 to Melbourne if you purchase is under $55 (so you can't just buy one for $8.36 delivered). Please mention it in the title.

    Big waste of time.
I loaded my cart with bargains, added postcode to get delivery. Thought that confirmed supply too.
But when I find my old account and log in, suddenly none of the specials are available any more.

    • Yes, waste my time too, as soon as I login the quantity is goes to 0. Try to create a new order but that doesn't work as well.

    • Same here, registered a new account, filled in all my details, and refused to receive any promotion info, then continue and none of them is available. My personal info was leaked for nothing again! They really should mark those outofstock stuff or just retreive them.

    • Agree the clearance is good, but has been around since July so most items are out of stock.

Try price match at local OW to save on postage and handling. I got a iPod G4 this week for $141.55, less than the online clearance price. The online store of OW said online price only. (See my post for more).

What I do is call up the nearest store to see if they have the stock and advise them of the price. They have always been nice to me. I pick up deals from OB and see if OW have the stock. I like it from HN because no price haggling. In HN tried buying Sony TV (which was on online special), the manager said to me that Sony called him in the morning to say that the offer has been withdrawn. Which was certainly not true. OW is has worked out better for me than HN as it matches online stores too.

Up to you. Worth giving it a try.

It helps if you login before you start shopping. That way you can add items and see in your cart whether stock is available to be shipped from their warehouse that is closest to you. Not a fantastic system by any means, but if for example you add EVERY battery charger on special, at least when you look at your cart you can see which ones actually have stock available to be allocated to you, then make your choice and delete the rest.
A few specials that I picked up in the cleaning section (how exciting…not!) 15kg laundry powder $3.75 (yes, 15kgs). Scott Toilet Rolls (decent quality) x48 $19.98. 5L Fabric Softener $5.25. Window Squeegee 30cm $7 plus 3.5m extension pole for $4 (clean the upstairs windows, yay….maybe I'll just whistle…someone else can work!). Rubber Anti-Fatigue Mat 1.5 x 0.9m $17.52 - didn't actually buy one of these, but I know they're usually pretty pricey. Good if you want to put your treadmill on a tiled area…(sorry I meant ornament that we hang our washing on to dry..)
I'm not familiar with the brand of the cleaning products, but since they didn't cost a fortune I'm happy to try them out. There were a lot of stationery items I wanted to purchase but no stock in Melb.
I bought two of the concealed powerboards and the usual blank cds & dvds as well, so thank you very much!

  • I noticed on the same page there are headphones TDK EB400. These were available at the OW store for $12.95. Got two of these at $5.56. Great find mate.

    Cheers.
