CHUWI VI8 Dual OS Windows 8.1 + Android4.4 Tablet PC 8 inch Z3735F 1.83GHz Quad Core IPS Screen 2GB 32GB $105

Lowest Price by a margin of at least $10 than last sale. Cheapest way to get Office 365 1 Year Personal Edition with 1TB Storage + Office 365 on 2 devices + 60 Skype World minutes every month for 12 Months. The Office 365 alone is worth at least $50 bucks.

Please note this is the Dual OS Edition with 2GB RAM and HDMI Out. Chinese SRP is around CNY 549 (RRP is CNY 599), which is around USD $88, so USD $105 shipped is an awesome price. I have not seen it below $115 for quite sometime even on AliExpress.

  • 12 GB for the entire Windows partition sounds pretty bad

    • Lol what do you expect for a USD $100 Tablet :P, use OTG to extend storage

Things like this use WIMBoot, which allows Windows to be installed on tiny disks. The Windows partition itself uses tiny pointer files to the recovery partition for the system files. As such, you'll still have just under 12GB free when you get it (the recovery partition normally takes around 4GB).

I have this tablet and it's excellent. Only real downside is the HDMI Out is Type D (I think), the horrible screen protector and not much storage left after Office 365. Fortunately I had until 21st of Aug 2015 to activate and download the Office 365.

I have the Windows 8.1 only version. I will say its price to performance ratio is great. I haven't activated my copy of Office 365 but I have added a 32Gb MicroSD card to extend its memory from 32Gb to 64Gb. The Windows 8.1 only version doesn't seem to have a HDMI out? Unless we are talking about MHL.

I have been pondering whether to get a OTG USB hub that will also charge the unit at the time of using the hub. In the meantime I am using a simple OTG hub from Unitek (UNI-Y2165B).

    Whoa! Interesting font, uminan!

    • I think he/she used Chinese as input language. It allows writing English, but I remember it doing something similar.

  • How long does the battery last? Screen resolution?

  • any cases for it?

  • I bought this tablet from Geekbuying and it's quite nice but it gets very hot and the battery lasts only 1.5 hours or so. This may be freak occurrence however and everything else is good.
