Jeez! It's so low that I feel like there's something wrong with the flight lol

Just flew with these guys. Plane was fine although seats are narrow.

        Compared with Air Koryo?

          Compared with Air Koryo?

Stop complaining. The planes are fine. The seats are fine. The food is fine. … As long as Kim Jung Um is flying the plane. ;)

      • Did it feel similar to airasia long haul - They seemed to have narrow seats too :(

A good airline. I just checked and these prices are available in November which is a good month for the weather.

  • awesome price.

  • I booked that and another $120 round trip Manila to Dubai

    • why would u want to go to dubai? its stinking hot there :/

      • Not so much in November and planning to go to Istanbul from there

        • +9

… next stop hopefully not Syria …lol

        • Also have a trip to Istanbul booked for November, but flying Cebu up to Kuwait. From there Pegasus are usually a good bet for cheap airfares into Istanbul or the rest of Europe.

        • @bangbang: I was thinking of that but I think Kuwait is expensive for hotels, isn't it? Keep in mind I'm a hostel person - and bugget ones at that. Unless your willing to rough it at the airport (http://www.sleepinginairports.net/mideast/kuwait.htm).

        • @peterpeterpumpkin: Not planning on entering Kuwait, just transiting. The Cebu flight arrives at 3:10am and there seems to be quite a few flights in the morning. Also note visa on arrival costs - $25 for transit and $75 for entering.

        • @bangbang: Thanks for the info. I remember reading about some fees last time I almost did it. I'm a bit nervous to book flights with less than ~16 hours between them based on a few bad experiences many years ago. More so in high season with single flights a day or less scheduled. I should read into what insurance covers but I hate reading that stuff.

      • why would u want to go to dubai? its stinking hot there :/

I enjoyed it there (November 2013). Good place to go. Try the afternoon Desert Safari.

There are cheap places to go outside the malls. Very safe. And people speak English! Yay!

    • What dates were you using to get $120 rtn?? I keep getting around $320….

I came back on Sunday. Flight is good! A couple of points the seats are pretty thin. And the most cramped plane however it's fine, bout my flights were about 2/3 full. You need peso for the plane, the do take $ but at such a bad exchange rate. I.e a can of beer was 120p about $3.5 however it was $15 for two paying in AU$.

I bough a cheap air Asia trip to Klabo so I could go to Boracay. Inbox me if you want info. We paid $44 for the internal return trib.

    • mmm trib…

    • bout my flights were about 2/3 full.

THIS is the reason why your flight is 2/3 full.

Basically, given a choice, a lot of people still fly with Qantas.

  • I think I found 400 return to Bangkok, with bags and food… In school holidays…. Now to double check
(Not booking as I got the scoot deal few months back)

I flew with Cebu Pacific last month. It was great - nothing bad to say. Flights were on time. Seats were a little more cramped and hard than usual, but for that price, WHO CARES! NAIA airport really does stand up to its name of being the worst airport in the world - but it's not as bad as you may think. It's just disorganised, a little illogical and inconsistent.

Other than that, I found the cabin crew helpful, polite and provided the same manner of service as any other airline I've flown with. This review is for anyone hesitating to purchase. You experience may differ to mine, but keep in mind that I'm very observant and get irritated very easily. I found everything fine.

    • I found the key is having a local SIM so you can use maps and internet. The stands in the arrivals hall will give you a sim and a month of unlimited but slow internet for 1040P (about $20)

      • YES!! That happened to me the first time I went there - I thought it was just a one off, but it seems as though it's a tactic to get everyone to buy from the stalls. The person at the convenience store insisted that they didn't know how to operate the cashier to sell the SIM… but I insisted and was pushy. They eventually did it. How awkward it must've been for them to be caught out in a lie.

Cebu Pacific does not use the oldest terminal aka 'worst in the world'. Cebu use terminal 3 which is new - not terminal 1 which is the sh*thole.

      • Ah, thanks for clearing that up :)

  • Wow, I just found $94 Manila to Taipei RETURN. So cheap! I hope I have enough annual leave for this shizz!

    • Book now, check later :D

It's so cheap you can actually afford to lose A/L over!

      • LOL! Ironically, my friend said that exact same thing to me. I think I'll just end up doing exactly that later tonight. I can't wait. I'm too anxious to wait.

    Manila :/

I would have jumped on this if it were Bali..

I am too far for this air line. I should NOT have booked this seat.

Poor Cebu airlines. It's going to get squishy.

    • +1

I am too far for this air line.

      How far ?

    • +1

I think you meant to say "too fat"

      • +6

        damn far fingerf!

    • Wide girthed people should avoid exit rows as tray tables are in arm rests, and make the seats a bit narrower. Cebu seats are the same width as AirAsia, but a little less padding.

  • +3

Awesome, we just came back from a trip a few weeks ago, but it's so cheap I couldn't resist. Booked the wife and kids to go in September. Peace for a few weeks LOL!

Flew with these guys Syd-Manila. Very good experience. Flight was less than half full so although the seats were cramped I found space to lie down. Only complaint was that the aircon was super cold until about 2 hours in when everyone started complaining. Probably so they could rent out more blankets. Didn't buy anything on the flight so can't comment on the prices.

    • The aircon was super cold because they want you to buy their blankets.

    • I think the heating may just be really poor on those planes, they had the temp set at maximum on the panel near the emergency exit.

      • +1

they had the temp set at maximum on the panel near the emergency exit.

Lucky they didn't tell the complainers to "step outside". :)

    • the blankets they offer are sold so you get to keep it… but I agree.. way too cold.. and I was wearing a hoodie and jeans…

  • So great. I've already got 4 trips dotted throughout the rest of the year with these guys as it's a cheap and well-located city to fly out from and explore north/south-east asia, as well as into Europe via the Middle East when they have good sales.

  • How easy is it to get to somewhere nice, quiet and beachy from Manilla?

I'm thinking more out of the way and cheap, not city beach resort. Not sure Manilla interests me that much…

    • Got my trip in 2 weeks, fly in Tuesday, fly out sunday morning. Didn't want to book onward flights to Cebu/Palawan/Boracay (to keep costs down, and to take the risk out of delayed flights/missing connections), so settled on Talipanan Beach/Puerto Galera http://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Puerto_Galera . Costs around about 1000php ($30) return on bus (2hrs)and ferry (1hr 20) from Manila.

      • +2

Puerto Galera/Sabang Beach is a pleasant little village. With no beach, but plenty of shops cafes and restaurants etc and a few bars. Also lots of Asian tourists going out on boats for diving trips. White Beach is a pleasant beach but not much there other than a dozen restaurants. I did not go to Talipanan Beach but I would expect that it would be the same as White Beach. A bit too quiet for me. Quite a boat ride from White Beach to/from Sabang. You have to haggle hard for a good price. Sikat have a good & reliable bus-ferry service from Manila to Sabang Beach/Puerto Galera. (8:30 AM departs at City State Tower, Mabini St., Ermita, Manila, 12:15 PM arrives at Sabang Beach)

      • Yep, good call. I went to Puerto Galera and surrounding area in December last year, a good way to experience the Philippine Island/beach with good snorkelling and diving, sailing and trips inland in rainforest. Easy to get a coach from Manila to Batangas, then ferry to Mindoro Island. On memory, the bus was around 500 PHP ( $15 +- ) and ferry 800-1000 PHP ( $30 +- ) each way.

Many couples, families and other tourist, but not too busy there, so giving you a nice holiday experience. Depending on what your after, Subic Bay is even more easy to get to from Manila, being on the main Island, so only a coach ride to get there. I have not been there yet, so can't say how much or whether one coach takes you there direct or not. Cubic would be much busier than Puerto Galera I imagine, with more night life and go go bars if that's you thing. Make sure you secure your wallet and valuables in the Philippine, especially Manila.

Can also recommend Boracay and Palawan, but need to fly and more expensive, in my view well worth it though.

Dam i normally take a flight early in the morning to get these flight from Brisbane Or Gold coast but from july earliest flight to get into to Sydney is about 9.00am and Cebu Pacific to Manila departs at 11.30am to too risky.

    • +3

Take an extra day off and go the day before. One night out in Sydney could be fun as a bonus.

  • why does it have to be always SYDNEY =( can Melbourne have some share of the love from CEBU PACIFIC!!!!

    • +1

Melb. gets plenty of love from Jetstar.

  • So tempting, but my financial situation is not too good at the moment to afford any holiday :(

  • I can't seem to find the link to get the cheap flights :-(

    Any help appreciated

  • Is it me or I can't seem to get the 40 kg check in baggage option for the return leg (MNL-SYD) on a discount fare?

    • +1

best to buy your luggage at a later date (like a week before travel) - shouldn't cost any more to buy it then (it hasn't in the past). Who knows how your plans might change? Or the airlines?

      • True.

I was just testing availability on certain dates.

Planning to go to on a side trip from Manila - probably Hawaii (using PAL) and that's why I was concerned about the check in baggage allowance option on the return leg on Cebu Pacific - MNL-SYD.

      • I've found its slightly cheaper to add luggage at the time of booking for Jetstar.

  • -3

For info of those who cannot cope with the overnight flight back. Philippine Air have one way business class fares Mnl - Syd approx $1600.

    • +1

I don't know why I was negged. I was just giving people information. And a one way business class flight at $1600 is quite a good price. What people do with the information is up to them!

  • +1

~$272 all up for Sydney-Manila-Beijing and Shanghai-Manila-Sydney. Pretty hard to beat that for value (unless you go to the Middle East).

Sad that the has dropped relative to the CNY just as much as the USD.

Hmmm…AirAsia is trying to prove me wrong…http://www.airasia.com/au/en/promotion/rx6710911.page?icid=iae286hpmba

  • Just booked for September but the payment page messed up. I can see in online banking the money has been taken from available funds (nothing in authorisations), but I never received an email from Cebu.. Any suggestions here? I never made it to the itinerary receipt page so I didn't get a receipt number. What can I do?

    (Good deal BTW OP)

    • Are you signed up as a member? If so log in and view your current bookings.

      • No I've never flown with these guys before. I went to sign up after but there seemed to be a fee for a card?? I'm not really sure, I guess I'll just wait and see what happens with the bank tomorrow.

        • In that case only real option left is to give them a call. I have been a member for about 5 years and have not been charged for any card but it might have changed since.

  • +1

A Priority Pass lounge is now open at NAIA terminal 3 (Cebu Pacific Domestic and international flights). Good for those with comp. membership through Citibank Signature card.

  • Wanted to thank you again (in words) rd for posting an awesome travel deal. Second time I've taken advantage of one of your deals and I couldn't do it alone. OzBargain alerts carry more weight than promotional newsletters in my inbox :)
