The Lychee beer is very good. Worth the $15

      … If you hate beer.

      ……. And hate yourself.

      • I like beer and I like these… so…

Perhaps if you are inquisitive, buy a single stubby first. Before wasting $15……
Yes I know taste is subjective, but you have been warned :-)

Has anyone had much luck with getting some of the Cricketer's Arms PA? It is sold out everywhere I have tried.

    • -6

Cricketers Arms has been restocked at most stores but the $10 offer is no longer available, dodgy!

      • and that was worth a -ve vote?

      • +2

The $10 offer is still available as long as your member card is scanned. Sold some today

    • My local told me they would do any of the Cricketer's Arms for $10 since they can't get the IPA's. I've tried the CA Lager but it's nothing special

      • Yep, i got the ca lager instead….quite like it

  • How much sugar does the lychee beer have?

  • -1

That's the problem with these club deals. They never have any stock unless you hit it straight away.

John Boston Pale Ale is $10 for a 6 pack now for members: https://www.danmurphys.com.au/dm/mydanmurphys/my_offers.jsp

John Boston is crap in my opinion. Bland, Woolworths house brand in disguise and clearly made to a price (probably $10 for 6).

      • +1

I agree with the criticism of passing off generics as a "brand", but I actually don't mind the beer. It is way more "sessionable" than a Little Creatures of Fat Yak, but has much more depth than a Euro lager or mass market lagers. And $40 a case ($6 not on special) is pretty reasonable.

  • Do you have to show your member card if you're doing click and collect?

No. I never received a physical member card, but I've done 4 or 5 C&C.

    Sorry OP

  • Interesting thing I heard about this stuff from a rep.

It is usually so expensive because it is subject to the mixed drinks tax. It is subject to that tax because the process involves diluting a wine. Vague language from the rep. Make cordial -> mix cordial type of thing ie. not beer.

I heard this from a Matsos rep while enjoying free samples and whinging about the price. Does anyone know if this is true? Does anyone know where to find actual evidence or similar examples?
