  • i have one of these. excellent sound for the size. if you get 2, you can have surround sound effect.

Just a warning to anyone considering buying this speaker, be careful as it seems that individual units have varying playing time.. Far from the claimed 15 hours. I bought one of these and it couldn't last even 3 hours on about 70% volume, I went and exchanged it and the same thing happened. This isn't exclusive to me either, if you read reviews on amazon and such you'll see people complaining about the ridiculously short play time. If you're looking for a good speaker the JBL Charge 2 is great, it's more expensive yeah but you get what you pay for. It gives me 10-11 hours playing time on full volume with one charge, and it sounds better especially bass.

    • how does the charge 2 go outdoors when compared to the ue boom? I've only had the ue boom and it's fantastic for outdoor use.

      • While it lacks the water resistance it goes pretty good outdoors. It's loud and has clear sound and bass.

    • Mine lasts forever, seems that whenever I check the battery it always has 70% charge. Never died on me, must run on fusion or something.

  • Don't forget to pricematch @ OW.

  • I have this speaker great sound and reliable connection. But why did they not put Play FWD and RWD buttons on it? you can't answer a call or control music on your water proof speaker until you pickup your probably not water proof phone. For something I usually use in the shower or kitchen it's annoying.

If I were buying a speaker now for $150 with that knowledge I wouldn't get this speaker. Some people that might not be an issue, but a $20 creative speaker I got from COTD (becuase my girlfriend kept stealing this speaker) has a play/pause button and it is handy.

  • Seems to be $159 now?

Looking for a second unit to pair with my other for stereo.

    • Use the code dude

      • Ah… thanks, too late now, but so many of the "go to deal" links on OzB have embedded codes that I just assumed it had expired.

  • +1

Not the best price though. Picked up this for $130 from goodguys 6 months ago.

    • remember seeing it for $95 on one of the ebay flash sales last year.

  • What's the deal? It's listed at $199 with a possible -$15 for a grand total of $184 with discount???

    • There was a 20% discount on these on the weekend only unfortunately. Stacked with the $15 voucher, it brought the price down to $144.20

      • That really sucks, I've been wanting a good price on the UE Boom

        • Gotta check ozbargain every day dude :)
