Apple iPhone 6 16GB $859, 6+ 16GB $979 @ Smartphonesshop

80

Thought I may as well post as this was only shop I could find at old prices that still had availability of stock. Prices seem to be about 15% off new prices. $10 express post or pickup from Revesby store (NSW). I realise to most ozbargainers iphones are probably a rip off but I figure this is probably the cheapest they will be from now on. Phones are unlocked + australian stock

Prices:
iPhone 6 - 16GB = $859
iPhone 6 - 64GB = $979
iPhone 6 - 128GB = $1,099

iPhone 6+ - 16GB = $979
iPhone 6+ - 64GB = $1,179
iPhone 6+ - 128GB = $1,249

$1000 for a mobile that would be out of date in 2 years….why not put $1000 to your mortgage instead?

This site is about deals/discounts/bargains. This ain't OzFinancialAdvice

lol, I was expecting a lot of down votes from this comments.

I +1 you, if that's any consolation. People are too stupid with their money

          @Neo: Thank you Neo :-)

        • +2

Does not deserve down votes … as it is a far better "deal" to put it in the mortgage.

And there is always a middle way … I got an iPhone 5S for $400 last year and the rest went in the mortgage :-) In my opinion you buy an iPhone straight away when it comes out or just before it gets updated with high discounts. At these prices at the moment I would not touch the iPhone.

        • Wise Person this mini_wombat. I personally feel the iphone/ipads has got to a point where additional functions are really leaning on trivial or 'luxury options' and going for the last generation (ie. going for the ipad Air 128gb Wifi+4G @ $699 instead of the ipad Air 2 @ $1,000) gives most bang for your buck. However everyone has their own preference.

          @mini_wombat:
Not just iPhone, for almost all apple thingy, either buy them straight away when they ate released, or wait for (relatively) heavy discounts applied when they are dated.

        • @mini_wombat:
Where did you buy I phone for $400

        • @Peanut money:

It was a demo one on eBay last year (with combination of a eBay/paypal deal (can't remember … was 15% or more off) and then TRS as I even got a proper tax invoice. I sold the original box & headphones on eBay for 35$ (!) to make it even cheaper and ended up at around 415$ for the phone. It had a tiny little scratch but for that price I couldn't resist … still working fine :-).

Sorry was a one off … otherwise I would have posted this deal.

        • @mini_wombat:
          Nice combos

        • @mini_wombat: someone paid $35 for the stock 2nd hand earphones and box? Ok… No comments otherwise I will get more down votes.

        • @congngo:

Yep … someone paid that (I started the auction at $1) (The earphones were absolutely new - and the box immaculate). Still $35 is crazy. But when someone is willing to pay this … happy to sell it. Crazy world.

It seem price of new phones is getting more expensive, no way I am going to spend $1000 for a phone no wonder how magical it is. Luckily my Note 3 and LG G2 is still working well and should last me for next couple of years.

    • Agree, $1000 should be the limit. It would get you a decent laptop instead.

    • For some workflows the iPhone 6+ and iOS are basically a pocketable supercomputer. The A8 chip architecture is that good. In two years time this will easily sell for $500 secondhand. For people, like me, that sat out on a couple of generations (since iPhone 4S) it was easily a great deal, especially with the GST off.

so we shouldn't be buying this and selling for $100+ profit ??

    • +1

I would like to know how you can buy this and sell it for $100 profit, if I am to buy at usual price, I will definitely buy from Apple Store or any of those retailer and not an individual like you.

Not need to be insulting and call me idiot, if you sell on ebay, how much fees will you pay and definitely if the price difference is only $100, you will not make the full profit of $100. You need to sell below what Apple is selling for anyone to buy from you, it is just common sense, so the profit difference will definitely not be the full price difference here and what Apple usually sells. Not need to be emotional as the purpose of OzBargain is to help fellow shoppers to buy at the best price.

  • Is there any way to get cheaper on contract? Sign up then cancel etc?

    • Calculate the cost of outright + BYOD plan against the 24 month contract cost of buying it on plan. Depending on your use case its often cheaper on plans.

Although, hardware wise you can get a ~$500-600 andriod phone that has the same or better specs. And this comes from someone whos only owned iPhones since the original came out (yes, I imported it, the one previous to the 3G)

  • Never heard of them. Are they trustworthy?

  • Dang, they only offer "Grey Space".
