It's a DNS redirect service (kind of like a VPN) - NOT a Netflix subscription.
You USE IT WITH Netflix, to view other countries' Netflix content.

  • Is this work on my Lg smart TV?

    • +20

maybe it is. it try ?

    • Work will not tv try…. (heh, just joking :))

Sorry it wont. I looked into this a while ago. It works with Bravias if you put the DNS settings from unblock-us on your wifi modem and then all devices use those settings, so you can install US netflix on your phone, tablet etc.

Once I put the settings in it opened up literally hundreds of more apps including Netflix and Hulu on my Bravia.

Unfortunately with scabby ol' LG's they apparently region lock them and only install the apps depending on what country you are buying your tv in.

You could still access it via Chromecast or maybe WDTV

Is this different to AU offering?

    • Probably to access more than the 1100 items they offer in australia.

    • To access other countries catalog's after you sign up for the free month with Netflix direct.

Its a DNS re-routing service the same as Getflix that makes it look like you are in another country to be able to view shows etc that are only in that library.

    • +1

I still use a Smart DNS service because other countries have completely different libraries. If you use a website like moreflicks.com you can search for the movie you want to watch then change the region accordingly

    • From the link: Watch shows like "Better Call Saul", "Breaking Bad", or "Dexter" which aren't available to Netflix Australia

  • $0.99 for First Month.

    and then ???

    • +7

      US$4.99/mth.
Getflix is cheaper, and Aussie-based too.

        • have you tried unotelly? https://www2.unotelly.com/plans

        • No, you can select the region, just like Unblock US, UnoTelly & all the rest.

(Also - to all, wasn't aware of the buy-out to O/seas company. Sorry!!)

        • @stackless:
I use Unotelly, great service. I have the DNS set in my modem so all devices go through it by default.
Only complaint is Unotelly doesn't have an AUS VPN.

I've also used Overplay which was also a great service and will probably move back to them when my current Unotelly subscription is up.

No GetFlix sold out to an OS company last year

        dns4me.net is cheaper ($au24/yr with a FB like, or $au29) & it's aussie based.

    Why not use getflix
    http://www.getflix.com.au/
Free for 14 days then $3.36 US afterwards.

Not true. You can change Netflix region for getflix too:

      • No it isn't, you can choose whichever region you want. EDIT: ^ this guy has got it.

      • sorry they only had USA last time i looked.

        • That must have been a few years ago then…

        • @Pobman:

          Yep lol about 2 years.

    • Search around for codes too, there's still some that may work… and use the Facebook like to get 15% off

  • Reduced content in Australia.

    Netflix is Crapflix in Australia

  • I've had getflix/Netflix U.S. working in the LG TV app without any problems for about a month now. This is work fine 😀

  • +1

Or if you are using a computer / Android device to watch on your TV, use Hola add on. It works great for me to watch Netflix and look like you're from any country you want. and its free.

    • And here's a simple tut for those that need it….

      http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2015/03/how-to-access-netflix-u…

Did we mention that it's GRATIS?

    • +1

You realise that Hola runs on a p2p system. ie it is actually running your requests through another persons IP, not a company setup for the purpose. And by this, people are using your IP to make it look like they are from Australia?

  • If you sign up for Australian Netflix and then use a VPN can you access the US content? Or do you have to sign up using a US address?

    • Yep but use a DNS service like Getflix instead as it won't lower your connection speeds like a VPN. One Netflix account will allow you to access every region that Netflix is available in as long as you're using a DNS for that location.

      • Does this mean if I sign up for the Australian Netflix for A$8.99/month, I could access the US catalogue as long as I log into a DNS for the US but logging into my Australian created account?

        • Correct, that's exactly how it works. And by using other DNS servers you can also access the other 20 countries catalogues that have Netflix.

  • They were great until I started getting Russian spam emails at the email address I exclusively used for my Unblock-us account.

    • I would suggest running an anti malware program such as malwarebytes. thats prob how your email got out.

      • +1

They confirmed that their users' email addresses had been breached but claimed payment info was safe.

  • it's also worth nothing that Getflix offer DNS over VPN, which allows you to watch Netflix USA/wherever, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO etc etc from your mobile device over 4G.

  • I've been using DNS4ME for around 8 months, works perfectly, allows region switch and is cheaper than Getflix and UnblockUS and it's Australia based.

    https://dns4me.net/

  • i

  • Getflix is cheaper and they have a 2 week free trial, can't work out why this is getting voted as a "bargain", pos voters please explain.
